This is a deep expression of the thoughts of many Nigerians by a Nigerian with great intellectual delivery. |
A Nigerian studying in the University of Roehampton, London, United Kingdom wrote an open letter to Nigeria’s President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, advising him to first re-launch the War against Indiscipline. Below is a copy of the letter. An open letter to the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dear General Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, I wish to personally congratulate you on your success in the Nigerian General Presidential Election of 28 March, 2015. I have aired my views quite a number of times in many journals, stating that Nigeria needs a God-sent political messiah who can place the country where it ought to be in the world stage; a political messiah who can rewrite our political history and change the course of history. General Muhammadu Buhari, when I heard that you have been chosen as the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), I was extremely happy. With the selection of the legal luminary Professor Osinbanjo as your running mate, I became happier and felt that all my wishes had been fulfilled. I knew one day we would be able to see a set of capable and competent hands that would captain the lost Nigerian political ship to safety. Your Excellency, the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, history has revealed to us the impact of former President of United States of America, Abraham Lincoln. Before signing the declaration to abolish slave trade, the wickedest trade on earth of buying and selling humans, he said, “If my name ever goes into history, it will be for this act of justice”. We also heard about Dr Martin Luther King, Jr., and his prophetic speech “I have a dream”. He waged war against segregation between whites and blacks in the United States of America. His legacy cannot be forgotten in human race and around the world. Nelson Mandela did not support the apartheid regime in South Africa. He worked tirelessly against the racist regime and liberated his people: a legacy that will remain permanently in the minds and hearts of the present generation of South Africa as well as those of generations to come. When Nelson Mandela died, he was buried by the entire globe, and the speeches made by the world’s political leaders presented him as one of the greatest political icons of our generation. We cannot escape history and the impact of the competent war leader of Great Britain, Winston Churchill, in the war against Adolf Hitler between 1944 and 1945, during the Second World War. Churchill has been described as one of the greatest Prime Ministers of Britain, a great orator of our generation. Records revealed that he used his oratory power to change the minds of millions of Britons to enlist in the British army, which waged war against the senseless Second World War that took millions of lives in Europe. He was also the co-founder of the United Nations. We heard about the unforgettable history of Mahatma Gandhi in India, with his legacy of free education. To bring my message home, Chief Obafemi Awolowo was known for free education in Nigeria, a legacy that will remain in indelible in the minds of the Yoruba people and all Nigerians. Your Excellency, Nigerians tested your governance when you were with General Tunde Idiagbon. That regime has been described as the best government in the political history in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. But the men in uniform did not allow Nigeria to get the best out of you and General Tunde Idiagbon. However, God has given you a second chance to tell the world how you love your fatherland Nigeria; how you were made and what you believe in about good governance in the human race, like someone in the corridor of power that could not be forgotten from generation to generation, like the name of Abraham Lincoln has been magnified in American political history, and the name of Gandhi has been written on a platter of gold in India, and the people of Great Britain will remember the role of Winston Churchill, who stood in the gap for his people with his talented mastering of English language as a great orator of our generation. These political icons were not the only people who came to power in their respective countries. However, when their names lingers on or when the name of a leader sounds like a bell, there are reasons for that in world history. Our hopes are very high in the government Nigerians have chosen you to lead. A country that is too big to fail, the most populous nation of the black race, the richest country in the continent of Africa, home of intellectuals and potentials. We need a courageous leader to unveil the potentialities buried in our people, this is why every individual of our nation voted for you. We need you to reshape both the political and economic history of this dynamic era of our time. We want to tell you that we all love you and you are not corrupt, but please be reminded that the entire lives of Nigerians are in your hands and you are the hope of the masses. I read and studied about the characteristics of God Almighty who is always looking for a man in every generation of mankind. For the Israelites, God used Moses to lead the people to the Promise Land, In the Islamic world, God gave Prophet Mohammed in Medina, God also used Noah to save his generation during the first flood that was recorded in the Bible. Your Excellency, General Muhammadu Buhari, I am of the humble opinion that God Almighty has been looking for you to captain our lost political ship, which has gone astray to safety and that God has ordained you to be the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2015. My general advice are as follows; Please relaunch the war against indiscipline, avoid involving corrupt politicians of the old regime at both state and federal levels; instead, make use of potential candidates and intellectuals both at home and abroad. Ministers should be appointed in acting capacity to see the best in them before their appointments are being confirmed. The declaration of assets of the officials who will be working with your government is very necessary. Ministers that owns private jets should be thoroughly investigated. Huge transfers from one bank to another before and after the presidential election should be forwarded to CBN and EFCC for verification. The EFCC should be Strenthened and more powers should be given to the commission. The police force should be reorganised and a capable hand should be looked for to be the inspector general of the police. Please look for capable hands and competent personnel to man the Nigerian port authority. Due to the lack of competent leadership, Nigeria has lost billions to other countries that are able to put their port authorities in order. In terms of the legal system, the problems and the odds of our country are entirely on Nigerian judges, who have held the legal system of our dear fatherland with corrupt and imperfect hands. I, therefore, admit that the problem of our country is our judges, individuals who hold the place of God to pass the right judgment and provide justice to all. Education is the light of the world, and we need competent hands to handle this sector. Agriculture is the backbone of every economy and it plays a crucial role in the generation of employment opportunities. Agriculture not only provides food and raw materials but also provides employment opportunities to a very large proportion of population. Health is another sector that requires improvement. Road maintenance is also very important. The power sector also requires close attention. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. http://www.channelstv.com/2015/05/26/open-letter-of-a-nigerian-student-in-uk-to-general-muhammadu-buhari/

adeekiti:I think our custom officers chose to let them be. |
I was at a wedding ceremony in Badagry last weekend, though it's been ages I last visited that part of Lagos. At first, I noticed I couldn't picture any LASTMA (Lagos State Traffic Management Authority) on their roads while I begin to wonder if this place is still a part of Lagos. But my greatest surprise came when I saw different types of vehicle that has lost it's manufacturers structure and designs. I saw some vehicles with their trunks raised to the heavens while some had additional trunk almost touching the ground. People who lived there told me it's nothing that they use them to carry loads and smuggle-in contraband's. Meanwhile, I saw countless custom/immigration officers on the road who I think already got an idea of what these vehicles are used for.

Who knew? There are a surprising number of ways that criminals can use your personal information to commit fraud. Here are some of the weirdest: 1) They can steal your frequent flyer miles. Whenever your credentials are valuable, thieves want them—even your frequent flyer credentials. In December, some 10,000 American Airlines and United accounts were hacked, and in at least two cases, cybercriminals actually booked free flights and upgrades using stolen perks, the Associated Press reported. The hackers had somehow gotten access to victims’ login credentials. Happily, folks got their miles back, but this is just one good reason to change your passwords regularly and monitor your accounts. 2) They can steal your health insurance. In a world of astronomical medical costs, insurance is very valuable. So it’s no surprise that medical identity theft is on the rise. How it works: Identity thieves obtain medical services using your benefits, saddling you with their health records. It can take a lot of time and money to set things straight. You might not notice a problem until you get an Explanation of Benefits statement for services you didn’t receive, so it’s a good idea to actually read your insurance paperwork. 3) They can commit crimes in your name. Here’s a worst-case scenario: You get pulled over as part of a routine traffic stop, and you learn that there’s a warrant out for your arrest for a crime you didn’t commit. It can happen, if someone commits a crime and gives your name to the cops. Of course it’s rare—but here’s what the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse says you should do if it happens to you. 4) They can hack your company’s chat system. Has your boss told you to download HipChat or Slack for interoffice correspondence? Both have been hacked in the past two months. In February, HipChat reported that hackers made off with “names, usernames, email addresses, and encrypted passwords for a very small percentage (<2%) of our users.” Similarly, Slack recently discovered that hackers broke into a database that stores usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, and Skype IDs for Slack users, and the messaging service notified a small group of people of other “suspicious activity.” All you can do? Change your passwords frequently and set up two-factor authentication if available. 5) They can take over your social media accounts and impersonate you. You’ve probably received a message from a friend that goes something like this: “I’m on vacation abroad, I lost my wallet, and now I can’t get home. Will you wire me some money right away?” That’s a scam called “social engineering.” Identity thieves will hack your account, send messages to your friends, and try to ride on your reputation to trick people into sending you money. These scammers commonly use email and sometimes Facebook. To protect yourself, hone your BS radar—would your second cousin really ask you to wire money to Amsterdam without calling first? 6) They can steal your tax refund. You need to file your taxes by April 15, but the IRS won’t check your return against your employer’s until July. That gives fraudsters a critical time window. With your Social Security number and name, an identity thief can file a fake tax return and collect the refund. You won’t notice until your real return is rejected. Prevent this theft by filing early and trying these other tricks. 7) They can hold all of your computer files for ransom. In perhaps the scariest online scam of our age, cybercriminals will use a “ransomware” virus to encrypt all of your computer files, then refuse to decrypt the files until you wire them thousands of dollars. (Yes, this happened on “The Good Wife.”) The worst part? Right now, there’s little you can do except pay, writes Alina Simone in the New York Times. Instead, prevention is key: Keep your security up to date, back up your files, and beware of suspicious links and attachments in emails. They can open credit card accounts in your name. When most people talk about identity theft, this is what they’re really afraid of—not that someone will steal their credit card number, or their banking login, or the password to their email—but that someone will steal their Social Security number and start opening new accounts all over the place. If that happens, criminals can run up debt in your name, and you might not notice until your credit score tanks. So guard your Social Security number and check your free credit report three times a year for accounts you don’t recognize. |

Get ready for more big changes to Facebook. The social media company announced several new products and features that will launch on its platform soon -- all are designed to make it easier for you to communicate with people and businesses. Facebook (FB, Tech30) CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other executives debuted the slew of platform enhancements during F8, the company's developer conference, on Wednesday. Here's what's coming: 1. Spherical videos on your News Feed and Oculus VR headset (if you have one). Facebook will soon support videos shot with 360-degree camera technology (the same way Google Maps' Street View photos are captured). These videos allow you to change the perspective you see by clicking and dragging on the screen. Google (GOOGL, Tech30)-owned YouTube recently announced support for this format as well. As video content becomes the ubiquitous format for sharing, expect these two companies to launch even more features at a rapid pace. 2. Track your online purchases and communicate with businesses within Messenger. Facebook's standalone messaging app will soon be integrated into e-commerce sites. In the future, when you make a purchase online, you can choose to connect your Facebook account so that companies can send you notifications about what you bought directly in the Messenger app. If you hate getting multiple emails that confirm your order, tell you when your order has been shipped, and if your returns have been received, you might be happy with this update. [img][/img] 3. Reply to messages using other apps. You can now open third party apps like animated GIF-creator Giphy within the Messenger app to send a message. Previously, you'd have to close the app, open Giphy, create a GIF, and then copy it into a message. "We truly feel that, together, we have a shot at reinventing how a billion people communicate every day," said David Marcus, head of the Messenger team at Facebook. He also added his love for GIFs. "They make the world a little better." Messenger also now allows compatible third-parties to prompt people to download their apps directly through the Messenger platform. [img][/img] 4. Videos you post on Facebook can be embedded elsewhere online. Previously, if you uploaded a video to Facebook, you could only share the video by linking to it. This is another attempt to make it more attractive for people to upload their videos on Facebook instead of YouTube. 5. If you comment on a story somewhere else online, it will show up on Facebook too. Next time you want to say something about an article you read, remember that it will soon show up automatically under the story posted to Facebook. This change is intended to make it easier for media companies to gain more engagement with their content. Facebook connect partners BuzzFeed, EliteDaily, The Huffington Post, and Fox Sports are among the first media companies to test this update. 6. Get ready to control more devices with your Facebook account. The company announced new ways for its developers to build programs that can control everything from your garage door to your self-watering plant. It's Facebook's way of getting into the world of IoT, or the Internet of Things. "We want to be there with you when you start experimenting with these things," Parse CEO and co-founder Ilya Sukhar told the audience. It's not clear yet how Facebook will integrate with IoT devices. [img][/img] 7. Developers will get analytics for their apps. The free dashboard will let developers see who is interacting with their apps and where they're coming from -- across all devices. Microsoft just sharpened its software sword against Google on the search giant's own platform. Windows productivity and collaboration apps, like its Skype messaging service, will now be found on the home screen when people buy some devices running Google's Android mobile operating system starting later this year, Microsoft announced Monday. Those apps include Skype and others like its OneDrive Internet-storage service and OneNote writing program, alongside mainstays like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Microsoft also said it brokered a new set of partnerships with smaller, regional device makers spanning multiple continents and large markets like Russia, Germany and Pakistan. All eleven of the deals will extend to business and consumer versions of the apps, giving companies the option of purchasing bundles that allow the software to be used across various platforms. Microsoft executives ultimately hope that getting more people using its apps will pull consumers away from other free alternatives, like Google's suite of Web apps preloaded on almost every Android device in the world, which totaled more than 1 billion shipments last year alone. Meanwhile, sales of Microsoft's cash cow, its Windows and Office software for PCs, are slowing as free alternatives and cloud services become more popular. Microsoft in January said in response that its next operating system, Windows 10, will be free, much like it has been treating its Windows apps for the better part of the last year. Eventually, Microsoft hopes, consumers will move onward to the products Microsoft can charge money for like its Office 365 subscription service, which charges for access to its productivity apps across devices. Since chief executive Satya Nadella took over last March, Microsoft has taken a radically different approach to its flagship software. Instead of hiding it behind price tags and the Windows operating system, the company has begun giving it away for free -- and even on competitors' devices. "For Microsoft, this is part of the company's mobile-first, cloud-first vision," said Peggy Johnson, the company, Microsoft's executive vice president of business development, in a statement. "We've proven that we're not afraid to look outside ourselves to reinvent ourselves." Included in the roundup is an expansion of Microsoft's deal with Samsung to preinstall Windows apps on the company's devices. Now, Office apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint join OneNote, OneDrive and Skype on some Android-powered tablets made by Samsung. That follows Microsoft's announcement last month that it would be preinstalling Skype, OneNote and OneDrive on only Samsung's Galaxy S6 smartphone. Microsoft is courting third-party device makers at a time when its relationships with those partners have frayed. By developing its own smartphones under the Nokia line and tablets under the Surface division, Microsoft began directly competing with the computer makers who also rely on its software. "If you're Lenovo, Acer or Dell, how do you look at a company that wants you to use its platform while doing its hardest to compete with you directly?" said Roger Kay, an analyst and founder of market intelligence firm Endpoint Technologies Associates. Microsoft even went to court against Samsung when the smartphone maker refused to pay patent royalties, as Samsung cited Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's handset division last April as evidence it had breached their agreement. The dispute was only just resolved last month. It appears as if Microsoft is making amends through its software deals, though other top tablet and smartphone makers like Sony, Acer and Asus remain out of the equation for now. http://www.cnet.com/uk/news/microsoft-to-bring-more-apps-to-android-with-dell-partnership/ |

Singapore has begun seven days of national mourning following the death of its founding father, Lee Kuan Yew. Mr Lee, who was 91, led Singapore's transformation from a small port city to one of the wealthiest nations in the world. World leaders have paid tribute to Mr Lee, who served as the city-state's prime minister for 31 years. US President Barack Obama described him as a "giant of history" whose advice had been sought by other world leaders. The Chinese foreign ministry called him "a uniquely influential statesman in Asia" and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said he was "deeply saddened" by Mr Lee's death. The period of national mourning will culminate in a state funeral next Sunday and Mr Lee's body is to lie in state at parliament from Wednesday to Saturday. A private family wake is taking place on Monday and Tuesday. News of Mr Lee's death came in a government statement that said he had "passed away peacefully" in the early hours of Monday at Singapore General Hospital. Mr Lee had been in hospital for several weeks with pneumonia and was on life support. State television broke away from its normal schedules and broadcast rolling tributes. A steady stream of Singaporeans, many openly grieving, arrived at the hospital where an area has been set aside for flowers and other tributes. "I'm so sad. He is my idol. He's been so good to me, my family and everyone," said resident Lua Su Yean, 64. "His biggest achievement is that from zero he's built up today's Singapore." A hearse carrying Mr Lee's body later arrived at the Istana, the prime minister's official residence, where a book of condolence has been set up. In an emotional televised address, Mr Lee's son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, paid tribute to him. "He fought for our independence, built a nation where there was none, and made us proud to be Singaporeans. We won't see another man like him." Lee Kuan Yew - widely known LKY - oversaw Singapore's independence from Britain and separation from Malaysia and co-founded the People's Action Party (PAP), which has governed Singapore since 1959. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-32014307

Meerkat, the new livestream sharing app, has taken the tech world by storm. It’s easy to see why, too, seeing how the app lets you easily share your live video streams with your Twitter followers. It could even import the accounts you follow on Twitter, as well as those who follow you: That way, you’ll be able to see what your Twitter friends are doing on Meerkat, all without having to find them and add them manually. But according to Mat Honan at BuzzFeed, Twitter unceremoniously blocked Meerkat’s access to its “social graph,” thereby rendering Meerkat’s contact import feature inoperable. A Twitter spokesperson tells BuzzFeed that its decision to cut off Meerkat’s access to its social graph is “consistent with [Twitter’s] internal policy,” but that comment doesn’t fully address concerns that Twitter has other business interests at play here. On Friday, Twitter announced that it had purchased Periscope, an app that, like Meerkat, lets you share live video streams via Twitter. It’s unclear as of this writing how Meerkat will respond to Twitter’s moves here. In the meantime, however, you can still sign into Meerkat with your Twitter credentials and still share your livestreams on Twitter. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2896404/twitter-cuts-off-meerkat-wont-let-it-import-who-you-follow-on-twitter.html |
At the center of this is Acrobat DC, a new version of Acrobat for the desktop, web and mobile that will include free e-signing tools based on Adobe EchoSign and quite a bit of smart image-handling and OCR technology. The company is also launching a new mobile app called Fill and Sign, as well as a new Acrobat enterprise solution with additional advanced features like fine-grained permission controls and third-party integrations. All of these new tools will launch within the next 30 days and will be available to existing Acrobat Cloud users who are currently paying $14.99 per month of the service. Adobe will also offer perpetual licenses for Acrobat DC. As Adobe told me, over 50 billion PDFs were opened in the last year alone. Its mobile version Acrobat reader is seeing 400,000 mobile installs per day and EchoSign has now processed over 100 million agreements. But the company also argues that too often, its users still have to resort to printing documents because they need to get signatures. According to Adobe vice president of product marketing Mark Grilli, almost 80% of document-based processes are at least partly dependent on paper. To fix this “last mile” problem, Adobe decided to take what it learned from the Creative Cloud and apply it documents. The idea here is to create a unified experiences across all platforms, with e-signing as one of the key features. Here is what this looked like in a demo Adobe senior product marketing manager Lisa Croft gave me. Say you get a paper form you need to sign. You can now use the new Sign and Fill app to take a picture of the document. Similar to mobile apps like TurboScan, the new app will then automatically try to recognize the borders of the form, but it will also clean it up, fix the lighting and perform a few more operations to make it look good in digital form. Then, you can fill out the form, e-sign it and email it back (maybe to a teacher, for example). Most of the time, you end up putting the same information on every form you get (name, address, date of birth, etc.) and Fill and Sign allows you to save this data and then quickly add it to paper forms. The new Acrobat mobile app, too, offers these features, but it goes far beyond this. There, too, you can now scan forms, but then you can head over to the web and fill them out there. The really nifty trick here, though, is that Acrobat also runs its OCR software over the text in the form and then recreates the paper document as an editable file that is easy to clean up and edit. The software tries to match the font of the paper document with those in Adobe’s library, so chances the document you edit will look the same as the paper version (most documents are printed in a limited number of fonts anyway). For the most part, the mobile apps, which are available for iOS and Android, feature the same tools as the desktop app, with a few exceptions like redactions, which are only available on the desktop. In the long run, Adobe may consolidate Fill and Sign and Acrobat Mobile into a single app, Grilli told me. To store documents, Acrobat DC current supports Adobe’s own storage solution and Microsoft Sharepoint. http://techcrunch.com/2015/03/16/adobe-brings-pdfs-to-the-cloud-with-its-new-acrobat-dc-service/

A new anti-theft feature will make stolen phones less valuable Google’s latest update to its Android operating system makes your smartphone less desirable—to thieves, that is. Android 5.1 was rolled out on Monday with a new anti-theft technology called Device Protection, according to Google’s Official Android Blog. The system will keep your stolen or lost phone locked until you sign in with your Google account, even if someone restores your phone to factory settings. Device Protection will be available on smartphones shipped with Android 5.1, and also the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. Other features on Android 5.1 include support for multiple SIM cards and HD voice calling between compatible devices. |
If you’ve once tried setting up a Gmail 2-step verification in Nigeria, you must have observed and understand that Google did not enlist Nigeria in the options for countries eligible for using and setting up a 2-step verification for Gmail accounts. I heard that Nigeria was initially on the list at the launch of the 2-step verification but was later removed for security reasons as claimed by one of Google’s spoke-person (Jay Nancarrow) on a particular online forum. Seriously, I really can’t fathom the security reasons as claimed, I don’t want to believe Nigeria is that bad that Google chooses not to enlist the most populous black nation on earth. It’s more embarrassing to see countries with enormous terror records and cyber-crimes on the list – even our closest African brother “Niger” was seen on the list. I hope Google has concrete reasons for doing this, otherwise all we see is a bizarre and horrendous attitude from Google on this and has deeply deprived many Nigerians the same right enjoyed by citizens of other nations - especially after many Nigerians have migrated from the shackles of Yahoo and Microsoft to embrace a friendlier and more secure mail service like Gmail. Nevertheless, after several attempts to activate the 2-step verification on my account, I discovered that my country “Nigeria” was not on the list of countries to send a verification code for confirmation. Initially, I thought it was mistakenly omitted and never to be taken too serious until I noticed people’s comment on the different social platforms – then I was forced to engage myself into some research especially on how to bypass the countries list and possibly the verification code. After several attempts and relentless surfing on the internet, I gathered some information and developed more so as to make things work. More importantly, I’ll like to appreciate the visual illustrations of some contributors on YouTube, it has immensely helped to develop this and couple with my idea till the final stage. The following are the needed resources to activate your Gmail 2-step verification. • A Gmail account (to run the step 2-verification) • Tor browser • A free K7.net account • Google authenticator app (for either iPhone, Android or Blackberry device). STEP 1 Download a Tor browser here and install. To know more about Tor browser, you can read more here. For video illustration, click here. SanDisk (SNDK) has unveiled the world's most spacious storage card for smartphones. The catchy-named "SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Edition," comes with 200 gigabytes of storage. That's 72 GB more storage than the next-largest option on the market. But before you get too excited, cramming all that capacity on a tiny microSD card the size of your fingernail isn't for everyone. High-capacity storage is extremely expensive stuff. SanDisk said it will go on sale sometime in the spring -- and cost $400. Also, many newer phones also don't come with expandable storage. The Apple (AAPL, Tech30) iPhone has never allowed customers to insert SD cards to grow its storage capacity, and Samsung (SSNLF) just eliminated that option from its new Galaxy S6 smartphone. If you want all that storage in your phone but can't get it, don't despair. SanDisk also makes internal storage for smartphones, and you could one day see a 200 GB iPhone or Android phone hit store shelves. Storage prices also tend to come down over time. Apple just increased the capacity of its two larger-capacity iPhones this past year, doubling customers' storage without raising the price of the iPhone. As smartphones become our primary cameras, those huge photo and video files tend to eat up space pretty quickly. A growing number of cloud storage options, including Google+ (GOOGL, Tech30) Photos, Amazon (AMZN, Tech30) Cloud Drive, Apple iCloud and Dropbox are making photo backup much easier -- but you still have to erase the photos from your phone when your on-board storage space fills up. SanDisk's 200 GB of extra storage would pretty much eliminate the need to methodically erase stuff from your phone. The company also says that the SD card will allow super-fast transfer rates, allowing customers to move 1,200 photos per minute from a phone to a computer. http://money.cnn.com/2015/03/02/technology/sandisk-200-gb-microsd-card/index.html

The Registrar who wrote the VP's letter went out of his way to write "His original certificate got burnt". I do not think he is competent to have made that statement. I am of the opinion that the Police, Court Registrar or Fire officials should have made such statements if they have proofs. How did the Registrar know that the certificate got burnt? Even if the VP had given him a proof or shown a document to that effect, the University Registrar's testimonial should not have been a categorical statement except he makes reference to the confirming document. If I were the University Registrar, I would have just been silent over what happened to the original certificate and issued just my testimonial. Sotin. |
