You have to scale through a lot of obstacles with the VO. You have to justify why at 28 going for an undergraduate course, why they should believe you are a genuine student. You have to justify why you want to study in CAnada and not Nigeria. Is the course you are interested in not available in higher and tertiary institutions in Nigeria? Visa officers have started doing their own searches and not depending on what people tell them. You have to also show reasons why they should believe you would return to NIgeria after your studies. If you are a self sponsored student and single and don’t have parental support in terms of coming from a financially buoyant family, it’s going to a rough road to travel. I wish you the best. Get abled hands to help you and you might win. But it will be very tough for you is my speculation.

Hello my fellow nairaland families pls I really need an advice on something which I believe will really help me.

Guys I'm 28 years old and I just made my WAEC result last year, ofcus this is not my first time of writing one but like I said I just made a presentable result, my concern on which I am writing this is I plan on studying for an undergraduate degree in Canada but I don't really know my chances of getting approved for a visa. I'm 28 years old and I only have WAEC as my qualification because after my high school I was opportune to get a well paying job in which I saved a lot to preparing an average secure future for my self but I know I made the mistake of not trying hard enough to get my WAEC result on time because I believed with money I can get the education I want as long as I can afford it but now I know I can afford to study in Canada but my question is will I get approved of the visa and that is because of the reasons I have stated above.

Your sincere honest opinion will be much appreciated but please don't judge me for my mistake.

Very true boss. I guesss she's very right then. I'll just advice her to do something that revolves around that course first, thhenn shift base after graduation. If she can do something like criminal justice or psychology, or what program. Do you think sshe can go for as a prerequisite.
