tinkinjow: Nigerians are so ignorant. Even in a time of google. Some pips actually think ammunition are tomatoes. I had an argument with a friend last week when I told him $9m is so insignificant when it comes to arms purchase. I told him I was ashamed that a country like Nigeria should be going around the world with N10 to buy arms. I even asked him then how many modern fighter jets we can buy with $1bn.He thought it could reach 300. I mean can one imagine. So unbelievable. That's why Nigeria should develop her indigenous military technology which is far more cheaper and will advance in time as we involve our higher institutions in weapons development. I like that criteria of checking purchasing power instead of GDP
QUESTION
Btw Nigeria and SA, which of these two nations citizens can easily
1) Eat 3 good meals a day
2) Acquire new sets of clothes every month
3) Rent an environmentally friendly apartment
4) Afford good education/ health services
Statistics should include both GDP and Purchasing power of every national minimum wage. |

justhelp: I have been having this dream now for more than once about War in Nigeria, seriously i don't want that to happen because it was a terrible dream, I saw army fighting against some group of people fighting against Nigeria. i saw people running and calling for help, everyone was heading to the forest all our leaders are no where to be found. Please is there any man of God here who can see the future to tell us what will happen to Nigeria.please if you know that God called you please tell us what you see. There is an avoidable war coming That's why you must ask God to reveal to you the purpose why he allowed GEJ become the President. The frustration Nigeria is witnessing in acquiring weapons is one major sign that we are in trouble. There seems to be a conspiracy to plunge Nigeria into a war zone |

Niseamaka: From your comments, it's obvious you've been holed up somewhere in Nigeria all year life. If you step outside the shores of 9ja and into South Africa, you'll be ashamed of yourself. Everything works well in SA compared to what is obtainable in 9ja. If someone who have been around the globe and seen "good economy" asserts that he's ashamed of Nigeria, u guys will tear the person apart. But it simply means that the situation in Nigeria compared to other places he visited or lived in is a shit hole where nothing works. Everything works on SA. When I visited that country, I was overawed with the level of development, I couldn't believe this is in Africa. Economic ratings or no ratings, SA is far more developed than Nigeria in virtually all spheres of life. I do understand your situation, I was once like u, totally beclouded by patriotic sentiments until seeing other parts of the world opened my eyes. Do you know that SA has ghetto Visit there first before praising them |

Billyonaire: We helped liberate South Africa of Apartheid. Our musicians churned out millions of albums singing against the evil of apartheid. Now South Africa is free. We even allow their businesses fair climate to operate. SA responded by killing Nigerians in zenophobic attacks, we tolerated. Now, as soon as we overtake this SA as African Economic Power, they display their greatest actions to make sure that we do not defeat Boko Haram. A lot of countries dont like Nigeria I guess.
For those who are ignorant of arms deals. Most countries use Black OPs to have access to weapons. America stopped Israeli company from selling arms to us, now a fellow African country is frustrating us again. LOL. I suspect these countries are indirect sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria.
What I know in life is, Gravity can be countered with just great enough energy called Escape Velocity. With just enough energy, we will surmount Terrorism, revamp our economy, stabilize energy and soar. If you doubt me, ask Mrs Ebola.

Niseamaka: You're still missing my point, bud. Our support for politicians/political parties shouldn't be brought into every issue. I'm leaning towards Jonathan but not blindly and will not hesitate to criticise if need be. It is a big embarrassment for our country Nigeria that South Africa, twice within a short period of time, seized cash meant for arms purchase for our military. Take politics out of it. You don't understand what is going on SA wants to embarrass after we were rated as Africa's largest economy Questions for you Why didn't they stop the money when it passed through their CBN. Why is it now the money wants to return back that they stopped it. Did they contact Abuja for clarification before impounding the money #InvolveOurHigherInstitutionsInWeaponsDevelopmentAsDICONmassProduce |

Nigeria has the best of minds when it comes to science engineering and technology.
These minds are littered in our higher institutions awaiting direction for exploitation
The fear of every government when it comes to supporting our higher institutions is " will they receive value for their money. "
THE SOLUTION TO THIS FEAR
The government don't need to spend a dime. Just give the higher institutions a written promise that you will pay them any money they spend on developing any weapon that meets international standard.
With this written promise, the higher institutions will not only levy the students but approach big organizations for financial support with the promise that they will share in the reward.
This will also encourage many foreign weapon industries to form partnership with our higher institutions leading to upgrading our labs and facilities
Once our higher institutions develop any advanced weapon, the government should hand over the blueprint and model to DEFENCE INDUSTRY CORPORATION OF NIGERIA aka DICON for mass production.
ELECTRICITY
Some people will say electricity is the problem but I disagree with them
Why
Because in weapons development you only design , fabricate and test a model which do not require much electricity as compared to mass production.
It is during the mass production at DICON that electricity plays a crucial role
SOUTH AFRICA INSULT
All this insult because GEJ is not an Igbo who believes in indigenous production.
Do you know that Ihejirika Ojukwu and co were pioneers of indigenous military products.
Nigeria Igirigi APC and rockets were pioneered by Ihejirika and I stand to be corrected that Ojukwu/Ironsi played crucial roles in Kaduna military industry aka DICON
If Nigeria involve her higher institutions in weapons development all this insult will never take place.
Fellow good Oduas Arewas Middle beltans Nigerdeltans and Biafrans. It is time we tell GEJ to stop behaving like a little sisi and take the bull by the horn so that nations like SA and US will regret waking up Africa sleeping giant(Nigeria)
We must continue where Ihejirika and Ojukwu stopped but this time we must involve our higher institutions
Thank you |

817: My opinion on the whole issue is that the whole deal was not handled properly by those who negotiated the deal.
When dealing in the arms market as a sovereign nation it is expedient that you play by the rules book even when buying arms from Eastern Europe where majority of countries who do not have good standing with the west go to acquire arms. First the NSA did the correct thing by issuing an End User Certificate. But there is no way those arms can be exported without the arms manufacturer getting an End User Certificate from the host government allowing the exportation of arms out of that country. Second if we wanted to get these arms from the black market why not go straight to to the main market in Eastern Europe since we are not sure of the quality of Chinese made weapons. Also there are several renowned Nigerian arms dealers who have in previous occasions acted as middle men and obtained arms or military hardware legally for our country. All this insult because GEJ is not an Igbo who believes in indigenous production. Do you know that Ihejirika Ojukwu and co were pioneers of indigenous military products. Nigeria Igirigi APC and rockets were pioneered by Ihejirika and I stand to be corrected that Ojukwu/Ironsi played crucial roles in Kaduna military industry aka DICON If Nigeria involve her higher institutions in weapons development all this insult will never take place.
