Yujin: Point of Correction: No Hausaman historically own a piece of land in Abuja. The real owners are the Gbagyi people popularly called Gwaris- a name given to them by the Hausas. The name of various settlements within the FCT gives credence to it. Kubwa, Lugbe, Gwagwalada, Nyanya, Pyape, Wuse, Asokoro, Zuba etc are typical Gbagyi words. Do your research properly. Ikengawo: so in your brain theres more development in bayelsa osun and ekiti than that same owerri? Be logical in your arguments. The poverty an owerri man sees is the same or more than what someone on the PH waterfront sees? Like I said a bigger economy doesnt mean "more development". Nigeria has a bigger economy than South Africa God bless you Most people don't understand the difference btw " Economy " and " Development " Economy is goods services and wealth oriented while development is people conscious. Nigeria has a bigger economy compare to SA but SA is more developed compare to Nigeria Most highly populated Nations have higher tendencies of being economic powerhouse but what matters is the access to material things that can make life meaningful If you tell me to choose btw being a Swiss citizen and Chinese citizen, I opt to be a Swiss citizen despite china being the largest economy of recent |

Politics › Re: 'IBO MADE' By Pius Adesanmi by BlackTechnology: 5:35pm On Oct 17, 2014 |
Collynzo28: I always tell people that local manufacturers only need to start being proud of their products and Nigerians will wholly embrace those products. A local Aba shoe manufacturer should boldly name his product after his company or himself and inscribe ''made in Nigeria'' on it, rather than name it Giorgio armani and print ''made in Italy'' under. There are some examples:
There was a time when Nigerians used to avoid Chinese phones like ebola, but now you see people flaunting phones like Gionee, Techno etc shamelessly, what changed? The Chinese moved from manufacturing fake Nokias, samsungs and blackberrys to manufacturing their own Gionees and Technos, Nigerians had no choice to accept them because they were affordable and almost as useful as the more expensive ones.
When I was little, you could hardly hear Nigerian music being played in Radio stations, homes, occasions or parties. Now, at least 70% of the Music you hear on the radio are by Nigerian artistes, 90% of music played in clubs and parties are Nigerian, what changed? Our musicians moved away from imitating Americans and Jamaicans (Alex O, Ras Kimono etc) to singing Nigerian songs that appealed to the local populace, the likes of Tuface, Tony Tetuila and his group, Daddy showkey, P square etc. could be credited for bringing about the changes.
Our manufacturers need a revolution in mentality, the consumers will follow. There are many more examples. Perfect People take those who believe in themselves and products serious |

barcanista: It is like you don't know the electoral populations of each of the 36 States. Bayelsa votes is not even up to that od Alimoso LG, the Whole of SS votes is just a little higher than that of Kano State, combine with Borno State and the SS votes is overshadowed. However, the plan is to further encroach into Rivers/Edo and Delta States. The problem with you is that you don't think deeply The North and West have the highest number of non indigenes due to lopsided allocation of FG resources during the military era. So not everyone living in Kano is an indigene of kano |
