I used Houston northwest and I used dr xydas.The hospital is very okay mind u am not really the type dat expect s too much oo so it depends on u but its really ok.Well dnt understand what u mean by maternity package oo what d hospital have for sef paying patient or the uninsured is called miracle moment and it just for ur hospital stay nothing else included.You pay ur doc separately,anaesthetic ,pead etc u must use pead group during ur stay in d hospital and dey also refer u to dia anaesthetic who will give u bill separately.I stayed with my family,booked airfrance,finished all d baby document in less dan 3weeks.I had him on 6th of may and am back in naija.

I called them as in United Houston office, they didnt know abt the stopping of flight after june 30th. They Even asked me where I got the information. Told me my ticket is valid. I just left them and started trying to get lagos office that knows what is happening, Am yet to get them cos the line is always busy.

Harris county birth certificate ( google it to get their address) I guess by now it should be ready. Go and pick up the BC, then book appointment with Houston Passport agency and go for the American passport for $165(hold exact amount) or pay with card. when you collect your passport, call Tanko, Eddy for Nigeria visa or Amb Stella for ETC.
I read recently that the available date for passport processing is a bit far so you may want to start calling now to book your appointment to avoid further delay in case you are in a haste to come back home.

I took a few minutes to go tru your posts and saw how u got ur visa after applying in January, February and successfully granted in March with your hubby. I also saw d Jackie Chan staunts u pulled off with cbp officer when he was trying to put u off balance at POE and all I can say is that you are truly a fighter!!!..God made it possible for you to arrive US even with all d hurdles so be strong and know that HE is God! HE has already perfected all concerning your family.. Our prayers are with you.

@ blaize777 the Lord is your strength..please be strong cause when ur Lo is out miraculously in a very short while you'll be crying for vigilantee duty .. Count it all joy deary and war it out in prayers..You will testify in no time..What state are you in if you don't mind..

I just said prayer for you... I can imagine what you are going through. When my baby was in NICU, I could barely eat or sleep, I was nearly depressed!
It was only later I found out she was in NICU because the nursery was short staffed so they either roomed the baby in with the mother or if the baby needed monitoring they took her to NICU (to be fed enfamil!!! ) not like she really needed to be there, but those 3 days were hoooorrrrrible! I can guess it's half of what you are going through.

Nevertheless,be grateful to God you are in a system that works, and you can have 100% faith that your baby will pull through very easily. I saw a 0.5g baby(born at 22 weeks to a drug user) in NICU that survived and went home after 5+ months. Meanwhile the 0.9kg and 1.1kg babies I had in 9ja were not given a fighting chance.

I cannot even tell you to relax and calm down, but for your health and that of the baby, please pull yourself together, regain your composure and take it one day at a time. Visit the baby daily if you can, and if you need to rest, please rest. Also try and send for your husband. You need all the emotional support you can get. I'm hoping you are staying with family/friends? Don't be alone this period and make sure you monitor your bp...

As per the bill, you cannot do more than yourself. $1m cannot buy a soul, whatever the bill comes to, just pull an orubebe for them, and ask for a massive discount! You pay with you have and if you dont have, you will spread the balance o! Patapatapata, if the hospital has charity, they should use their church mind.

Dearie, I would say relax first. Thank God baby is alive and in good hands. I no d current dollar matter but d babys life ft irst then d dollars.
Had my baby last wk, cs & baby was full termed, big but later found out she had low sugar cos I was gestational diabetes. Baby was taken to Nicu. Day 1 & 2 I kept hearing she's not eating well (formula) so d sugar has not stabilize. As at this time no breast milk yet but I was using pump to stimulate (FTM). So I kept praying. By day 3 I asked them if I can be doing d feeding my self they say yes. I got colostrum that day took it there n fed mmy baby. I started going there every feeding time 3 hourly. Express breast milk, feed my baby myself in d midst of prayers o. U must eat, am ur mother, this is my milk, am a good eater, ur father eats well, were u wan learn am from not to eat etc. She ate, surpass their limits 4 her sometimes and d sugar test figures kept rising. I tire but I no gree cos no sleep since I had to go also in d night. All d nicu nurses were just amazed. I laugh, pikin wey I wait yrs for unna no no d power of a determined mother.
She spent total of 4 days & on d 5th day was discharged!
We are home & doing fine. I have also not seen nicu bill but I've pushed it behind to enjoy my vigils of motherhood. When it comes, God pass am!
So leave money matter and be strong for ur child n by Gods mercies she will come out well n fast from there! Am joining u in prayers. Much love n hugs dear.

An average stay in the NICU is about $3000 per day!!

@=merrymum please how can one get to the us embassy in Nigeria to get the notary letter signed. Do u need an appointment or u can just go there and ask for it. US embassy can be very annoying please I need your advice

Got into Houston on a Sunday and all was well. On Monday night my water broke. Baby was delivered via cs on Tuesday night. She wasn't breathing or making a sound. Fear ripped thru me. 12 minutes of silence! Then i heard that beautiful cry.! Glory to God.
Coz she came early, she was put in nicu level 2. Eventually got discharged from d hospital. Now the bills are coming in. Hmmm, my pple, i don't even know where to start from. Nicu bill is over the roof! Hospt bill for baby too. May God help me.

Hello mamas...just put to bed oooo. Baby n mama are doing great. Thank God...labour n delivery went smooth n swift. Didn't use epidural, even thou I paid but will get my refund... Ahhh,$1500 no bi small money....
Go use settle other bills n as I no get PAT be4 travel, d black market day pain me for body.....

I have been following this thread from part 1 thru 4. Had my visa interview this morning with hubby in Abuja. Went with all necessary docs as seen on this thread, was denied for no reason.

Hubby & I: good morning.
Vo: (scans passports and then looks thru the screen), i can see you are going to have your baby in the US?
Hubby: yes.
Vo: how much do you think this trip will cost?
Hubby: 16K usd. Wanted to pass her budget sheet but she said "I don't need to see any doc."
Vo: where do you work (asking hubby)?
Hubby: xyz multinational company, and as abc manager.
Vo: how much do you earn?
Hubby: told her actual pay (well above 600K monthly), attempted giving her payslips but she again declined saying same.
Vo: flips thru hubby's passport and asked "what did u go for in Egypt?"
Hubby: I went for training - gave details (meanwhile Hubby has been to UK & France many times, as well as SOuth Africa, and Egypt)
Vo: can I see ur acct statement?
Hubby: passed on savings and salary statements (about 30K usd)
Vo: typed and typed and typed...sorry your application has been denied. Passed yellow form and said have a nice day.

She didn't even ask me any question + na so she just dey bone. She 'drilled' a preg woman before me like say d woman offended her before (kept asking her like 6 different times 'y not give birth in south Africa, UK, must it be US), come deny her join.

i dey pray say make she no call me o but...na she call me (window 9). She don reject everybody before us sef.

House, please advise. I am considering applying again next month o...I'm 21 weeks gone.
