The newly-appointed Director-General of Tinubu Campaign Organisation and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has said he would work hard to deliver the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, during the 2023 election.

Lalong spoke on Thursday after arriving Jos from Abuja where he was presented to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), by the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, following his appointment.

A statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Macham Makut, read, “Governor Lalong said his appointment as the DG, Tinubu Campaign Organisation is a clear indication that the APC is well accepted in Plateau State and has the capacity to deliver in the forthcoming elections.

“According to him, the campaign council will work hard to mobilise the party towards canvassing the votes of Nigerians across all lines.

“While answering questions from journalists, the governor said the APC is sure of victory as it will continue to work towards improving the lives of Nigerians.”

Adamu had earlier disclosed Lalong’s appointment to State House correspondents after a meeting with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He had said, “The DG of the campaign is seated by my right here, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State.

"have a spokesperson in the person of Festus Kenyamo. The deputy spokesperson is Hannatu Musawa. This is what we came to discuss with the President.”

Adamu explained that the choice of Lalong was based on his ability to do the work required to ensure victory for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket in next year’s presidential elections.

He described the party’s same faith ticket as a “positive development” for the country’s politics.

“Yes, we have been hearing concerns being expressed. In the APC, we believe very strongly, that no matter what description, no matter what faith you will associate with any one of our candidates, we are first and foremost Nigerians.

“There is no doubt in the fact that we have people who stock trade on some of these religious issues.

“Just like you have people expressing fears, or concerns about a Muslim-Muslim ticket, there are Christians that welcome it as a positive development, in Nigerian politics. They are Nigerians,” he said.

What is happening between APGA and the Peter Obi led-state government is a travesty. The governor has refused to allow elections into the local governments since coming into office such that he is able to hand pick his cronies and act as the deity of that state.

That is totally against what APGA stands for. The party strongly believes in empowering people at the grassroots and that is the local government. So, for Obi to have operated that way is totally unacceptable. I have had cause to criticise other state governors, who use similar tactics to stifle democratic growth. So, this makes us fear that Obi, having secured his second term, is now working for the People Democratic Party (PDP) by trying to portray APGA’s government as one that can flout rules.

My relationship with Obi and his prudence

So where did his boys get the N300 million they were caught with in Lagos?[/b] As for my relationship with him, there is not much to say about that. It was APGA that sent me to represent it on CNPP, there is no other APGA official who is acting as an ambassador at such national level, but Obi has never recognized this fact for one day.

That is why you see the quality of his actions because he never confers with people from his own party. Look at it, has he groomed any successor now that he is ending his second tenure. The only thing he has committed his energy to is to fight the party’s chairman, Chief Victor Umeh. This is the same chairman who has been able to ensure that APGA now controls a second state. Look at the way the former Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu is propagating the ACN in the south-west, Obi had such opportunity but he frittered it away because of pettiness. Orji Uzor Kalu did the same for PPA as he was leaving office and Obi has made no effort to ensure that APGA grows . He is now fighting the party chairman who is working tirelessly to grow the party, but the leading lights in APGA assure Obi that we will surprise him if he persists on the path he presently treads.

Why Is this platform surporting Tinubu and brazenly biased against Peter Obi?

I observe that threads that get to front page often are threads that are either pro Tinubu or anti Peter Obi. Even on the front page of politics section, you will see those threads remaining here for days but if a thread is surporting PO, it would be removed from the front page of politics section within minutes. If you surpport PO or criticize Tinubu so much you will be banned. I have been banned many times for fleamsy reason.

I think the moderators here are youths who also desire a new Nigeria. Or is it that Nairaland is benefiting from Nigeria's perpetual bad governance? Obedients what do you think about this?

TINUBU VS CHRISTAINS

In my location registering for voters card has been really difficult due to the fact that there is only one point of registration but today been the last day the churches in my city decides to bring the registration to their people by setting it up in their church.
A muslim friend of mine went their to register today but was told the registration is for CHRISTAINS only which makes me believe the CHRISTAINS are really ready to battle it out with tinubu for fielding a muslim-muslim ticket.
If you think the north has a population to bring in tinubu as the president the churches are doing everything toake sure their members who had never voted before come out in 2023 to vote so has to fight against tinubu

A Lot of people are scared that if tinubu becomes president he will become buhari promax because he looks older than buhari despite the age he is claiming.
