Mine was shola. Never heard from him for several decades. You're right, people like these, you just find it difficult to erase them off your mind.

I remember when I broke my legs during a football game. My leg was placed in plaster of Paris for several weeks. Sola would always knock on our gate every morning, back me to school and when we close, back me home. Childhood friendship is the sweetest. I've searched all social media for him, no trace. I even once paid a visit to the hood I grew in as a child. Of course I never expected him to still be there but at least I was thinking I would find one or two people or families who stayed in that hood during that period but I was wrong. Some had died, some travelled out of the country, some have made it and are living the dream elsewhere, some migrated to another state decades ago, some are still struggling for sure. The hood was a shadow of itself, strange faces and buildings everywhere.

Most a times when it comes to post regarding religion here on this platform especially Islam most people are ignorant of the religion and start raining curses and abuses and which is the other way round with your religion. If you are ignorant of something ask those that know zakat is not from the govt or part of its IGR but a compulsory task on every Muslim that has the wealth to give out certain percentage of his net worth out every year for the needy not what you all are thinking
