BusinessRe: CBN Permits International Oil Firms To Sell 50% Of Proceeds by Blazetrailer:
LOL!
How you people arrive at these simplistic assumptions still befuddle me. I am not surprised anyway, there are lots of misinformation and propaganda going on oyt their, especially on the side of the government to hide their inefficiencies and the fact that they are clueless on how to resolve the economic sham and impending recession they have got Nigeria into.

Bro, to keep it brief. Your analysis helps the foreing reserve in the short run. Now,in a free floating system as they claim(we know it is a lie, currency was stupidly and hurriedly devakued without understanding the wider implications), the increase in your foreing reserve means zilch, nada, zero, nothing, unless the government intends to use it to defend the local currency by funding imports from it. Otherwise it means nothing to the local currency in the long run.

Faiththatworks:
I don't usually reply people but I will take an exception.
Sir what I mean is very simple,I'm not implying Dangote will release Usd into the Economy, but his petrol will free up the money used in importing Petrol into Nigeria every month.
Every month sir,NNPCL imports 1 billion litres of Petrol every month at a rate of 35 million litres Evey day.
This petrol is paid for using proceeds from oil receipts derived from expoert of crude oil, thus depriving Nigeria of close to 200 million Dollars every month.
Sir I hope you understand now why I said once Dangote releases his petrol into Nigeria, the country will save millions of Dollars which should have been used for import of petrol.
Thanks sir and God bless you
God bless Nigeria

Hallucinations of the highest order.
Dangote's dollars?? Come to Nigeria?

Where are these dimwits getting these ideas from?

Faiththatworks:
God bless Mr Cardoso.
This is another wonderful news from the CBN,for those who don't understand what's happening, the oil companies used to sell all their proceeds to the CBN who in turn will sell to the banks and Bureau D change.
This singular move has eliminated the CBN who used to act as the middle man,now the money can flow directly to the Banks and Bureau D change.
I predict Very soon the country will be awash with Dollars once Dangote releases his first liter of petrol into the market.
The CBN understands It's just a matter of weeks before the Usd begins to fall, thus it's no longer interested with what the IOCs do with their income.
Like Mr Otedola who saw the future and pulled out totally from the Importation and Sales of Diesel,I urge every Usd speculator to take heed and stop this devilish practice before the force of Gravity hits them.
God bless Nigeria.

What an idiotic post. Nigeria is headed the Zimbabwe way already and this time it is self-inflicted.
The government could do a supplemtary budget in trillions to ensure they bought new cars for the politicians upgraded and constructed new houses fornthe vice president and others (even if these were not necessary), bought a presidential yacht, new vehicles for the president and vice president wives and their aides, all allowances for for senator's and reps paid in advance to curry their favour, etc,

...but the same government claim there would be inflation if minimum wage is increased?

Inflation that is 130% already due to stupid and thoughtless economic policies of naira devaluation and subsidy payment.

A lot of you don't think in that country at all

Jagabanarmy:
There is no way government can pay labour 615,000 naira as minimum wage. You guys want to turn Nigeria to Zimbabwe? Don't bastardized our naira. Secondly, ipob should get ready for the impending disasters coming their ways. Ipob terrorists must be eliminated

The Nigerian army has become so indisciplined and directionless. They often target armless civilians as a reprisal for any of their men killed.

There are more effective ways if fishing out the killers than this ragtag approach. The reason they are not regarded or revered by serious militaries outside Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Bismarck Rewane Worried Over Tomato Price Hike From ₦40,000 To ₦150,000 by Blazetrailer: 4:47pm On May 31, 2024
If you take pointing out to you that your approach seems narrow minded and simplistic as an insult, then there is no point reading anything else you have written. The problem is much bigger than food production or insecurity. If you produce bountiful food in an economy that is receding, to what benefit?? They will all rot away. Again, if you think calling out your approach to being too narrow minded as an insult, no point debating with you...your mind says it all.

seunayantokun:
Thank you for insulting me first before you could reply to my post.

Whatever solution you have in mind, let's have it.

You blame devaluation, that's fine, but what led to that? Buhari made security of lives and properties go south unleashing fulani terrorists on all parts of the country in addition to boko haram and ISIS West Africa who were already destroying the country. Funds were massively stolen to fund terrorists and the fulanisation agenda, and certain individual agendas. The economy was terribly mismanaged by him.

Now there is no more confidence in the economy because of insecurity. Prosoective Investors have been scared away as those already in the country have been fleeing the sinking ship. So, upon what and what do you intend to build the economy on? Devaluation of naira started long before the present administration came in and took a terrible turn when Tinubu officially did it, but that is an example of what sane mind knows - that fixing you country's currency on paper is one of the worst straws to hold on to when you sinking economically.

So, if you really and sincerely want to get out of the economic woes, then fix security first. No one plants or invests where lives and properties are not safe. You can never experience prosperity where there is no peace. If you know any other magic, let's have it. I am aware that those who are part of the insecurity agenda don't want to hear anything like state and local council policing. If you're one of them, please change your mind, because it brings you no good at the end of the day.
PoliticsRe: Bismarck Rewane Worried Over Tomato Price Hike From ₦40,000 To ₦150,000 by Blazetrailer: 1:34pm On May 31, 2024
Myopism. The problem is bigger than farm or food production. The error of devaluing the currency can not be undone in more than 20 years.

seunayantokun:
If they are really. All hands must be on deck to amend constitution to allow state and local council policing. Once security is right, farming will resume massively and economy will be better.

Check the economic council team, they are full of his praise singers. No technocrats. At their first meeting, they were singing his praises like politicians instead of getting to serious job. If you expect anything from those, you are doomed.

PoliticsRe: First Anniversary: Ghana Is Now Richer Than Nigeria, Says Bismark Rewane by Blazetrailer: 4:43pm On May 30, 2024
Truly, Tinubu doesnt think before acting. Devaluation of the naira was done without understanding the full effect. A reasonable leader would have gathered various opinions before doing something that stupid.

Eriokanmi:
That's a fact. Cotonou people would willingly leave their children in the hands of Nigerians as maids. They knew by the time they returned, they'd be in money. Check it, how many homes do you find them nowadays? Is it not a couple wey don belle full go employ maids? That tells you Nigeria is failing as a state. Naira has lost its value...who caused all these, our bad leaders. Its not healthy when citizens are leaving their countries in droves as if there's civil war.

I love Nigeria and Nigerians. But each time I try to educate sone blind folks, they hit me back as if it's not same country we're in. Cos of Tinubu's bad policy, I lost several millions of naira. The so called big and mighty aren't spared by this greatest blunder made by Tinubu. I call him a jaujau leader for a reason. He doesn't think before acting and that's why we voted him out in lagos. We know him better but they called us names, bastardss, ingrates, etc...who doesn't know his father? Wondering if Tinubu is everyone's dad.

Are you aware that niger Republic also has a functional refinery? Shame on our leaders. We used to import our cooking gas from them. The moment junta took over and ecowas closed the border, they too stopped shipping cooking gas to us and price of gas soared. This was the truth that was hard to tell Nigerians. What of food? Niger was our main source of our meat, beans, onions and potatoes supply. Did you hear of them dying of hunger despite the sanctions? They had enough and beans got wasted at the border cos truckloads of beans couldn't enter Nigeria. When they reeled out their usual propaganda that trucks with food were seized by military at the Niger boarder as they were making their way into niger Republic by smughkers, I was just laughing, I said the government of propaganda had started again. Tinubu shouldn't have reopened the border now, if Nigerians wouldn't be dying on the streets of hunger. God loves us but we chose to hate ourselves by always voting the wrong people out of sentiments.
PoliticsRe: First Anniversary: Ghana Is Now Richer Than Nigeria, Says Bismark Rewane by Blazetrailer: 4:39pm On May 30, 2024
I am repeating it for the umpteenth time. If Nigerians truly understood the magnitude of damage those 2 thoughtless and vision less ideas by Tinubu, (wrobly referred to as "economic reforms")have caused to the economy and any little prospect it had, they would be on the streets now, demanding the removal of the fake strategist.
Wait till 2025/26 before you start seeing the full effect.

He has killed the Nigerian economy patapata.
TravelRe: How We’re Removed From Plane Over ‘body Odour’ Complaints — Travellers by Blazetrailer:
What a myopic post.
You have not seen that tribalism can do worse than this, even in Nigeria. In "saner clime", at least you still have a recourse to go to court and may get well compensated. In your "insaner clime", you dare not raise your voice when you are discriminated against because you are from a different tribe/ethic or religion. Believe me bro, it is worse in that your Insaner clime.

FreeStuffsNG:
At the flight gate, the three men, along with five others, were told by an airline agent that they had been “removed because a white male flight attendant had complained about an unidentified passenger’s body odour”.

Smh.

This is 2024, this is worst than slavery because the humiliation and public disgrace stays permanently engrained in your brain for ever, any country where this kind of things are still happening is no sane clime. PoliticsRe: As Expected, Peter Obi Won't Say Peem About May 30 Sit At Home. by Blazetrailer: 12:16pm On May 30, 2024
You are not even intelligent at all. Do you get involved or comment on all issues affecting your street where you live in? If your answer is a Yes, then to have even alluded any form of reasoning to you by responding to your post was a mistake. You don't deserve to be considered worthy of being intelligent at all or responded to.

To label everyone that dares to oppose the blindlesdness or cluelessness of this current govt a bigot or hypocrite while Nigeria is sinking is not only self destructive, it is imbecillic.

I'm no supporter of any of the thieves that call themselves politicians in Nigeria(,Obi inclusive) but calling him out to respond to all issues is daft.

HilcomTech:
Stop being inteligent by half. No one said Tinubu is not the president and it is his responsibility to secure the entire country.

What everyone is saying is that Peter Obi and Ezekwesili are hypocrites for not commenting on issues that happens in the south east and you know it. Your hypocrissy is silly and laughable.

You may write and episcle from now till tomorow, it will not diminish the hypocrissy of the south easterners.

Peter Obi and Ezekwesili are quick to comment on northern and south west issues but will suddenly become deaf and blind when it is about south east.

I will however not reply you lots anymore as there is no point talking with blind bigots and hypocrites
PoliticsRe: As Expected, Peter Obi Won't Say Peem About May 30 Sit At Home. by Blazetrailer: 12:08pm On May 30, 2024
Again, as a private citizen, he has the prerogative to what he feels he can voice out. He is not under any moral or subjective obligation to speak on all issues. He is not paid to do so.
Do you get to talk about all issues in Nigeria?

I'm no fan of these politicians and don't support anyone as I stated but trying to preempt what a private citizen should discuss on any national issue or holding him accountable for not talking on any one is dim witted.

Didi2d:
He is not asking Obi to solve the problem, Obi is not the President. He's not in any security organisation and not even in present government.

What I believe the OP is saying or asking is, why hasn't Obi said anything about the threat from ipob towards young children not to go out to write their exams.

Everybody knows how influential Obi is, and we know he normally criticise or advise the government on almost happening and decisions the government makes.

The question is, why is he not saying anything now? After all, the issue affects children in south east

PoliticsRe: As Expected, Peter Obi Won't Say Peem About May 30 Sit At Home. by Blazetrailer: 3:50am On May 30, 2024
To the contrary, his/postulations seem valid.
The question to ask is, if anything untoward happens to the students who go to write their exams tomorrow, under whose responsibility or watch should their safety and well being be tied to? Obi or Tinubu?
In some of the students that will be exposed to danger from tomorrow because of the security challenges in their region, there would be some of them whose parents voted for Tinubu. Should he not be more concerned about the safety of all as he swore to protect?

Whether Obi chooses to comment or not, the job of seeking out any threat to any national or sovereignty of Nigeria remains Tinubu's number 1 job. Obi doesn't need to comment or point it out......

, based on the above, and on the contrary, your post shows someone with very low level of intelligence, you are the dumb one here.

HilcomTech:
This has got to be the dumbest post ever.

The question is why is your mere citizen selective when he comments on issues and you know it but hypocrisy and bigotry will not make you accept. Why does your mere citizen not comment on issues affecting south east but is quick to comment on other regions

Your hypocrisy and bigotry makes me feel sorry for you.
PoliticsRe: As Expected, Peter Obi Won't Say Peem About May 30 Sit At Home. by Blazetrailer:
This is another stupid post, in fact, one of the most dense i have read on nairaland in years. This is to all those also saying something similar.

The last i checked, Obi isnt the C in C of the armed forces or the security network of the country. There is someone that campaigned and got "elected" , currently occupying the seat and being paid to deal with any threat to security in the country. Obi is a private citizen and he has the prerogative on what he needs to or wants to comment on.

I am not a fan of Obi, Atiku and even the current caricature that is there now. They are all useless bunch of thieves. But you can't expect Obi to solve or point to all national issues for you, if there is a security threat to students writing their WAEC or anything of sort, someone is paid to do that job. He should fucking do his job rather than expense energy and resources on Emir of Kano issues.
someone is paid to do that job

helinues:
I thought Peter Obi claimed he cares about Nigeria and the Nigeria youths , why has he remained silent about the possibility of 300k students from South East missing Waec Maths exams tomorrow.

Charity always refused to start from Peter Obi's home hence being cherry picking about which issue to respond to

Oh I forgot, education mean nothing to Peter Obi, someone who increased Anambra state tuition fee claiming education is not for the poor
