Greetings everyone,
My Toyota Camry 08 is making some noise on cold start but the noise vanishes after the engine gets hot.
Two mechanics I've contacted both said is the timing chain.
But one said it needs adjustment while the other said it needs replacement.
Kindly advice what to do.

I'm not very familiar with the terrains in Ebonyi, but it looks like a leaching problem.

You know when mineral matters are washed into the underground aquifers by percolation.

Since it only comes out when you first start the pump, it doesn't look like a serious problem.

First get drillers to flush the borehole, if the problem persist, then afix a union connector to the pipe run. Loosen it when you first start the pumping machine so you can bleed out the bad water and tighten it back when it's clean again.

The water should be fine within six months if you pump every other day.
Wells become cleaner, the more you pump them.

Take out battery terminals, remove socket that plugs into transmission, check for bent pin or rust or water ingress, clean with appropriate solvent, reinstall properly, test drive, then scan for codes.


Was the ecu of the car replaced at anytime prior to this happening?

Good evening bosses..My Toyota Camry 2006 big daddy keeps shorting oil..I use Mobil super 2000 5w-30 which is the recommended oil but I still experience oil shortage after 5 liters I bought recently. I still bought 1 Litre to top it up…just bought the car from America 4 months ago..pls your suggestions would be highly appreciated

2007 Camry 4cylinder are known to short oil . it is a factory defect. The v6 does not short oil....

My advice is to use thicker oil . but you don't want to use something that is too thick either. You want to manage the car as long as possible

So look for 10w30 or 10w40. Prefairable Mobil 1

I stopped recommending oils a few months ago because of prices of commodities and existence of imitation and fake products. In addition to this, I don’t know the state of your engine’s health so I am being careful here.

Change to thicker oil weight if you’re using lighter oil weight, or keep checking and topping frequently, if you want to take it a step further, get the pistons rings, PCV valve and valve stem seal replaced or buy a tokunbo Japanese Camry engine.

How do you mean your gear casing gets slightly hot after 1hr of continuous driving?
How did you find out this?
Isn’t your car drive train meant to get considerably hot due to friction and heat?
Does it in anyway affect the car drivability?
