exPLIcit7: Thank You Very Much. You are welcome! |
SunnyJ2: I have a brother who drop out from primary school, he don't know how to read and writer. he is a drunker and a smoker. his doing opposite of what i like to do. the worst he don't have hand work. now he want to come and stay with me in the city. the person in question is my elder brother. please forum advice me. how can i assist him? can he be able to learn handwork? can change of enviroment solve the problem?I would advise you create a new thread. |
exPLIcit7: I was admitted into university of benin to study crop science.I Just want you guys to help me with the carrier opportunities available for this course.THANK YOU.Congratulations on your admission to the university. Your success in life lies in your hand. If you believe you can make it after studying Crop Science you can. If you also believe you can't make it after studying it, you are also right. If the latter is the case, I suggest you go study what will give you the fulfilment you crave for. I must tell you the rate of unemployment in Nigeria is astronomically high and the career opportunities I give might not turn out to be so. I often advise students to think less of paid employment and more of how they could create jobs for themselves. If one gets a paid job after graduation fine but if not, then life goes on. As a crop science graduate: *You can work in research institutes like RRIN, NIFOR, IITA, BAT etc as a research officer. *You can work in a farm as an agricultural officer. *You can also work in agro-allied companies like SARO, Kewalram Chennai. *You can also work in a bank. Most banks require 2:1 in any degree as long as you meet their age requirement. *You can work in auditing firms like KPMG and Deloitte if you make a 2:1 and meet their age requirement. *You could take up a career in the academics if you have a passion for that. I could go on and on. However, the onus is on you to determine your career goals and where you see yourself in the next 10 or 20 years. I wish you the best of luck! |
nsukka: @blessedfellow, was d final offer above 100k? Kindly give us a range. I actually did an interview recently & was in d same spot, got called after d interview for d next stage( meaning I am still being considered), but no info abt d salary yet.@nsukka: it was about 130k but I had to decline the offer for other personal reasons. |
When signing in, Yahoo loads faster than Gmail. When uploading documents, Gmail is faster than Yahoo. I think Gmail is better than Yahoo!!! |
Knowledge of the expected salary of a position could be expedient though there are other criteria considered by recruiters in hiring a candidate. When I was asked same question in an interview with one of the FMCG coy some years back, I told the panel I believe they would meet my expectation and money was not my prime motivator. The chairman of the panel asked me to mention a value, that it would not be used against me so I told her it should be more than 100k. She said that mean I will be happy with 101k and we all laughed over it. I was given the job a couple of weeks later. If I were to interview for an international jobs, I will tell the interviewer money is not my prime motivator but if he/she insists on a value, then I will give him/her the salary range for the position in consideration. |

I have modified my response above, have a look. |
Metaphycist: I dnt knw muc abt hw dey rectify d Dob ish cuz I nor any1 close 2 me dint hv problem wit it.Discrepancy in the DOB on JAMB results was not much of an issue last year, clearance officers overlooked it. Discrepancy in DOB on WAEC certificate was a very critical case! |
Emylexray: bro Blessed, please answer my question above. Scroll up. The slight difference in name issue.Your case is peculiar, I did not come across such last year. Do other documents like birth certificate have Raymond? If your JAMB result had read Bassey Emmanuel E., that would not have been a problem. There is no need to be petrified, wait till you see your clearance officer. |
mhizz_bernie: @metaphycist d affidavit kud it b dne in any high court or must it av 2 b d high court at sapele road cus dats wat my cousin tld my dad he waz lyk it beta if its dne der(sapele road) so dat twil b dne correctly dat mst court write deir's in dif.way nd it myt nt b wat uniben wants aw tru is datIt is not compulsory you do it in Sapele road. The admission officers may not have much time to scrutinize your document. Business centres around the uni can type it for you, take it to the court for stamp. That is the affidavit. Cheers! |
Metaphycist: Yh,dat ws 4 postume,I also paid d acceptance n skul fees on line.Bt d 2000's payment ws difrnt.It appears I am 'old school' now. Nope! |
Metaphycist: I ws told. Those documents are not among the requirements published by the uni for clearance, fellow students gave you the info. Everything is history now. Cheers! |
Monsieursuave: Reading Đíŝ argument Öѵ affidavit from behind d scenes has forced me 2 come out from d guise Öѵ guest. You won't have much problem since it is not your WAEC/NECO result. However, the clearance officer will give you a form to fill, you would have to wait for the response of the board before you can be cleared. I will advise you get to the clearance desk early in the exercise so the board rectifies it early. Don't be scared. It will be rectified but it might take a week or two to get a response. Cheers! |
sigidporte: so true!I reckon the uni is improving in IT so let's see how it goes! Apologies I have to go to bed now, I should be back another time God willing. Cheers! |
sigidporte: and how did they pay and got the photocard?Online payment was made with Mastercard, passport was uploaded to the application! No hassle! |
sigidporte: if it is to be done online, how then can one get a teller to present to the busar for a receipt? There should be an online receipt. Do you know some people did not visit any bank to pay for post-utme? |
sigidporte: master card? How?It is just like your visa/verve card (atm card). Internet banking must be activated for the account. |
sigidporte: which bank is that please?Unity Bank. Last year, I was shocked to see a mammoth crowd! I think a Mastercard might save you the hassle. |
Metaphycist: They r both worthless, yet I used both during my clearance.@Metaphysics: were you specifically asked to present them or you just submitted them with other document? Cheers! |
Metaphycist: also, local gvt of origin, correctn of name.@Metaphysics: an affidavit of local government of origin is worthless! I often advise people to get the one from their LGA, duly signed by chairman or secretary. An affidavit for correction of name is not accepted. You could confirm from any clearance/admission officer if you doubt me. Cheers! |
Metaphycist: also, local gvt of origin, correctn of name. |
Mickey7: not really..wht den are u? A pol sci student?@Mickey7: I am none of the above. Just peeping! |
Mickey7: is blessed fellow a law student pls@Mickey7: nope! Does anything suggest that? Cheers! |
Riley_Freeman: okay sir...noted! And Thanks alot@Riley_Freeman: you are welcome! Good luck with your clearance! Cheers! |
Riley_Freeman: eheen...so what if there is a spelling mistake in the name..how is that solved?@Riley_Freeman: the candidate will be asked to go to WAEC/NECO for correction of name. He/she will be cleared with evidence such as receipt and 'form' from WAEC/NECO. I understand it take one year for WAEC and six months for NECO to effect the correction. Hopefully, the candidate must have collected the corrected certificate before screening in penultimate year. The above is applicable when there is an error in the DOB on the WAEC certificate. Cheers! |
Riley_Freeman: an Affidavit is the answer..go to a Law court bro.@Riley_Freeman: an affidavit is out of place. I have given him the official stance on that. An affidavit does not fix such issue! The only accepted affidavits are: age declaration, non-membership of secret cult and good conduct. Cheers! |
apexcensorgmail: Friends, in my o level i used two names and in my jamb and putme i used three names. How will i make it good for clearance? I need urgent answer plz...@apexcensorgmail: you don't need to fret as long as you have the same two names in your jamb and postutme. Eg. Bello Usman vs Bello Onyeka Usman! If no two names match like the example I gave above, it is a bad case! Cheers! |
tinahrex: mehn...dis clearance no b beans sha@tinahrex: don't worry, you'll be fine once you have all the requirement but the process is quite stressful. Be prepared! Cheers! |
