Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Test 2013. by BlessedFellow: 2:33pm On Nov 10, 2013
SilaV: Bro,calculator was not allowed.
Thank you so much Bro!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Test 2013. by BlessedFellow: 7:39pm On Nov 09, 2013
@SilaV: were you allowed to used a calculator for the test?

Thank you!

SilaV: I once made a post in NLNG Graduate Trainee thread(page4,I think) ,started by DmainMan , concerning "NLNG past questions ". I will paste the the comment here again so that you can read and understand.

SilaV:Only if the prospective candidates would read this post! The truth is that the last Trainee Operator test was computer based. The test for Lagos center was written at Chams City(Dragnet) but never conducted by Dragnet. NLNG had their questions displayed in the computer screen of dragnet and the supervision was done by NLNG staff. The last test was a bit different from the one they used to have. The parts were made of Data Checking, Mechanical reasoning, Shapes manipulations, Numerical and Verbal reasoning. Dragnet materials can only be relevant as a practice guide in the areas of verbal and numerical ONLY.GMAT could be studied for the areas of Mechanical reasoning and shapes orientation.Data Checking requires a lot of speed:as a clue, check and memorize the first and last three letters given and compare it with the given options. You can visit assessmentday.com for real live simulations of verbal and numerical.Don't be scammed or deceived by anybody who might claim to have the exact questions of NLNG as things have changed. All what is required is speed and accuracy.
I am still waiting for the outcome of the Trainee Operator interview and hoping for the best.I wish you all the best.
EducationRe: Should Part-Time Study Be Abolished? by BlessedFellow: 2:30pm On Nov 08, 2013
My opinion on the subject matter is this;

If the rationale for establishing part-time programmes is not being achieved, then it would not be a bad idea to review the programmes or abolish the programmes if a review is not possible.

The reason for establishing part-time study is to enable individuals who are working and determined to upgrade themselves the opportunity to do so. However, you will observe that the bulk of PT students do not belong to the working-class and are rather students who are unable scale through UTME and Post-UTME hurdles.

Truth be told, a great deal of PT students are not willing to learn and have no business in the uni. They believe they ought to be passed without studying hard and attending class because they pay higher fees than the FT students.

I often feel ashamed of Nigeria's educational system when I see essays/scripts of some part-time students. In fact, some people so ask if they also attended part-time secondary schools.

On the other hand, you find very few FT students exhibiting the above when compared with PT students.

I have observed that the calendar for PT programme is not consistent as the FT programme. This constitutes a bottleneck to the quality of 'stuff' the PT students receive.

IMHO, I think Nigeria's educational system needs to be revamped from elementary through tertiary levels.

PS: I have seen very few serious PT students who could compete favourably well with their FT counterparts.

Apologies for my lengthy piece. Time and space will fail me to be expository as much as I would have loved to.

@Muyesky: I wish to commend you for a job well done! More power to your elbow. The Almighty who has started this good work will also complete it because there is no abandoned project with Him.

I must confess that this is one of the most interesting thread I have found on Nairaland recently.

I'm planning to start a project next month or early 2014. Quick question: what is the cost of those kind of wooden doors often used by bank? Apologies I don't know what they are called. I like them so much and intend using them for my project if it would be cost-effective.

Cheers!

My friend had a phone interview with them a couple of weeks after he completed the online test. Dunno if he applied for the teller position.

There is no cause for alarm! It is well!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: NNPC 2013 Recruitment: Any info? by BlessedFellow: 10:27am On Oct 21, 2013
eHustler: @Blessedfellow, you know the cause of the delay na - the 2nd batch! Our dear 2nd batch will be out soon then we can expect the new recruitment to take off finally. So much fight in the main arena these days cos of frustration. The annointed ones were asked to drop something with them and told them to go that they will hear from them. I think its a matter of time. How is your work na?
@eHustler: I just dey my brother. I know the cause of the delay in the 2012 recruitment is the second batch thing. My concern na how the second batch thing never still end up till now. Anytime everything don set, 'Ogas at the top' go wield their power thereby pushing the D-day forward.
It ought to have ended about a year ago.

I pray everything ends soon because I'm in a precarious moment careerwise. How is your work going?

Cheers!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NNPC 2013 Recruitment: Any info? by BlessedFellow: 6:19am On Oct 21, 2013
k4kenny: Ok, let's all relax a bit. I know some people get smuggled into NNPC thru the back door, but some people I attedned the interview with back in '11 secured the job without knocking on doors or payin a kobo. Its all about grace and God's favour. If a job is destined to be yours, no senator's pikin can take it from you.

@OP. Tell your friend to accept the 150k job. That's more than double of what most graduates earn here. Employment is at an all time low. Abeg if u get anything with a 6-figure pay. Abeg grab am o!
@k4kenny: we'll keep relaxing like we have for some time. I know some people get the job without knowing anyone or paying a dime. However, my worry is the delay caused by interference from elitist politicians. Time becomes an issue when an activity that is supposed to last one month begins to linger for over a year.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: During Interview,do You Wish Other Applicants Best Of Luck by BlessedFellow: 11:04pm On Oct 20, 2013
tompat86: do you really wish others all the best knowing fully well that you are competing against each other?
@OP: Yeah!!! I sincerely wish them 'Best of Luck'. I know what will be will be. If we are able to prove our worth to our prospective employer, then we would end up being colleagues. If they are offered the job and I am not, then it is the coy's loss and I know God has a better plan for me.

Whatever the case may be, they will become part of my invaluable network.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Zodiac Traits do they really reflect in your character by BlessedFellow: 6:52am On Oct 13, 2013
I do not believe on zodaic traits. However, I do believe every individual will find one or more traits to describe him/her in any of the zodaic signs.

For example, a fellow who is Aquarius (Jan 21-Feb 19) exhibits traits of Libra, Leo, Scorpio and the rest.

IMHO, I exhibit traits found in all twelve signs!

Chapter 11

Before i reached Enugu something struck me. We passed a very beautiful lady. She was wearing a beautiful white dress and gold sandals, she looked like an angel. Her dark skin had a glow to it. Normally i go for the light-skinned type but this time i had to make an exception, she was indeed beautiful. I asked the okada man to drive back to her. I had to meet her. We made a U-turn and he stopped the bike just across the street. I crossed over to her. Gave her a warm smile and greeted. He gave back what i believed to be a grimace and dhe quickly looked away. I obviously didn't expect her to be that easy. I had to put in more effort.

" i wanted to know if you knew where the nearest restroom is"
She gave me a straight face and replied, " you are too fancy for using bush but you aren't too fancy using okada abeg shift joor"

This got me a little upset but it didn't make me lose interest in this damsel. I had to get her. Beautiful women like her are hard to find, even though she had a dustbin for a mouth, i believed she was worth the try. I told her that i was looking for a way to strike up a conversation with her. I said that her beauty had mesmerized me, i had to come back and talk to her. She reacted as if this wasn't the first a man has approached her this way. She rolled her eyes and looked away once more and said

" bros its either you buy my garri or my water or you go back to your okada and continue with your journey"
She made a mean face then looked away again. I realized there was on old lady about 15metres away from where we stood who was sitting on a stone and had a couple of fruits, garri and water placed on a stand made by card boxes and bricks. She starred at me then i smiled and waved at her, she gave me a straight face then she looked away, she said something to herself, i was too far to hear it.

i looked at the girl and said, " you grandmother is quite charming"
She looked at me as if she was going to strangle me and said, " that is my moda fool!"
I felt i had messed up this time around. But the woman looked too old to be her mother. But i guess poverty can always make one look older than they really are.

There was a girl i tried tossing a few months back. Her name is Oge she is beautiful, that day she was on her way to a church meeting, she walked past my shop, which is how i noticed her and decided to pursue her. She held her bible and she wore a top that i felt was slightly in appropriate for church. It exposed her bosom a little. I in all honesty believe that women should not wear clothes that show skin or show off their figure when they go to church. It will only distract men from their focus on God to focus on unholy things. Unlike this damsel before me, Oge was very nice and welcoming. She asked about me and what i did.
Then it lead to the very question every born again over religious christian asks. So are you born again? I was hesitant since i wasn't much of a church goer. I only prayed when i left it was convenient for me to pray. I lied that i was born again and she asked me how i got born again. I told her i confessed my sins to christ and i stopped doing bad things. She told me that wasn't all, she started preaching to me and quoted a couple of bible verses, i wasn't really interested in what she was saying. I was more focused on what was under her shirt. When she finished preaching she made me raise my hands in the middle of the road to make some sort of confession. I did. Anyway she looked 23 but she was 17. Lack of good meals had a way of playing with her appearance but she was beautiful regardless.

I wasn't really interested in being born again, if i was born once and I'm not yet dead why should i be born again. For her sake i obeyed her instructions. She asked me to join her in her prayer meeting but i told her i had to go back to my shop to attend to my customers. She took my number and promised to check on me and call me on Sunday to go to church. God forgive me, but if going to church later on led to getting inside her panties i was ready to do it.

I did all she asked me to do, we went to church, prayed. After a month i was genuinely falling for her, i wanted to have ,more than her waist, i wanted her to be my woman, alone, forever .Unfortunately it never happened because she fell pregnant for a rich man in her area. I guess i wasn't rich enough to get into her panties after all. But this married man clearly was. We had been dating for 2months and she a 6 weeks pregnant for him when i found out. I wondered whatever happened to the sweet angelic woman i met, i guess she knew what she was doing when she wore that revealing top the day i met her. I guess i was dealing with the devil in sheep clothing. I had joined prayer groups and for the first time in my life i fasted. I vowed never to trust the holier than thou sisters from church. Just poke and drop her. That was my new motto. I wont be fooled twice.

I apologised to her and said, " im sure she was just as beautiful as you are now when she was younger" she smiled and laughed a little. We spoke for a few more minutes. By this time the okada man was complaining. I gave him an N500 and asked him to give me 5 more minutes and he agreed. Amaka, thats her name, asked me walk her back to her house to get more food items to sell, i agreed to this. We walked into the bush, she said this was a short cut. I told her that i had a garri business and i could partner with her and she could make 20times more than she was making on the street. Moving to a city to do better business excited her. She agreed and promised to tell her mother about the proposal.
As we were walking its like my ancestors heard my prayer, her dress got hooked my a tree branch, the branch pulled her back, she lost her balance and fell. The dress remained on the branched. Behold, before me laid a beautiful damsel wit soft bare breasts. I didn't know whether to get the torn piece if clothing off the branch to cover up or to just keep staring at her naked body until she got it the remaining cloth to cover herself up
OP: Thanks for the 'fábù'!!! It appears you have a degree in making up stories.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: NNPC Recruitment 2013? by BlessedFellow: 9:10am On Sep 19, 2013
Graceojomasule: Check last wk NBF JOBS IS THERE
Thanks for your response. I have had a look. It is same email address I saw else where: nnpc.resources@gmail.com.

I don't think NNPC receives application by email. NNPC is not too poor to use a gmail account. For 2010 recruitment, application form was filled on their website. Same for 2012 which applicants are yet to be invited for aptitude test.

Why would the corporation advertise again when it is yet to invite for test? The genuine NNPC recruitment is always published on national newspapers whereas the above wasn't.

My conclusion is that it is a hoax!!! Those who sent their CV should be careful.

Cheers!

I don't think NNPC is accepting application. Applicants to 2012 recruitment are yet to be called for aptitude test. The current application you heard of is a hoax; charlatans requested that applications should be sent to one Yahoo/Gmail account.
