Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the Rivers State local government election scheduled to hold on October 5, 2024, would hold and conducted as the most peaceful and credible elections in the state.

Fubara said he had already received briefing from the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, (RSIEC) on court order mandating the agency to conduct the elections in the state, with the full support of security agencies, assuring that the state electoral umpire would be given the necessary supports to conduct the elections successfully.

Fubara disclosed this while addressing journalists at Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, shortly after the inspection of the Trans-Kalabari Road project, which he described as a legacy project of his administration.
