OP, I think you are the uneducated one here. You simply can't define "who is educated and who isn't" despite the fact that you are pursuing a second degree. This is a big indictment on our education system and your teachers.

I will help you anyway..

Senior School Certificate is equivalent to American High School Certificate, and it is by any standard a level of educational attainment that is above the highest form of Basic Education (JSS). It also prepares one for tertiary education or employment.

One who holds SSCE is not only certified to be educated but is deemed to have gone above the attainment of Basic education. Referring to such person as an illiterate/uneducated is the highest form of intellectual incapacitation. This is one reason our laws specify that a public officeholder aspiring for ANY office, including the Presidency, should be educated to at least this level of education.

Tertiary educational attainment is not a statement of literacy. It is a statement that one is equipped with necessary skill for a specific field/profession. It include but not limited to; Law for the legal professionals, medicine for the physicians, Accountancy for the Accountants etc.

My brother, I am sure if your sister is hooked with Seun Osewa, the founder of NL, your family will term him "uneducated" and frown at the marriage prospect simply because he holds no degree.

It is a shame that a youngman who claims to be a student of Postgraduate school has this kind of reasoning.


Let me also chip in that Education could also be attained informally... Go Figure!!!
