OndoNews: Reno Omokri Defends Tinubu’s Economic Reforms, Cites NYSC Member’s $500 Hair as Example
Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has weighed in on Nigeria’s economic reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending the administration for its decision to float the naira and end foreign exchange subsidies.
Taking to his verified X (formerly Twitter) page, Omokri shared his views in response to a viral video of a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member wearing Brazilian hair reportedly worth $500.
"This National Youth Service Corp member who went viral is wearing $500 imported hair. Every time she buys this hair, $500 leaves Nigeria for Vietnam, and Vietnam as a nation buys little or nothing from Nigeria. So, how do you want the Naira to rise in value?" Omokri queried.
He expressed support for Tinubu’s market-driven policies, arguing that removing the naira subsidy was a bold but necessary move.

"It warms my heart that due to the high cost of foreign goods, Nigerians are now switching to made-in-Nigeria goods," he said, while highlighting that Nigeria recorded a $6.94 billion trade surplus—the first in many years.
According to Omokri, this marks a significant turnaround from the $3.2 billion trade deficit recorded in 2022 under former President Muhammadu Buhari. He attributed the positive shift to Tinubu's economic reforms.
He criticized the spending habits of some Nigerians, pointing out that despite economic challenges, many still prioritize luxury imports like Brazilian hair.
"This is not the first time I am writing about this," he added. "President Tinubu is an accomplished accountant. General Buhari was spending $1.5 billion each month to artificially maintain the Naira's value for political rather than economic reasons."
Omokri further claimed that under Buhari, Nigeria wasted foreign exchange on frivolous imports.
If u look closely u will realise they are all saggy..its ery easy for big books to sag.. and develop fungal infections candida intertrigo...but they are good for aesthetics

111GlassCup: When I was much younger, I could have sex all day and not get tired. My appetite was high, my libido is very high. But since the start of this year, I noticed I am starting to despise sex and never willing to go beyond 2 rounds.
Some times when my girlfriends show up at my crib and I don't ask for sex, they feel like maybe I have become impotent or something or maybe they've offended me. I know for sure women feel bad when they come to your house and you don't ask for sex. They never want to be the first to initiate it beyond just playing with you.
Yesterday, the girl that came to visit me spent over 9 hours and all I did with her was just cooking, movies and talking. At a point she was sitting on my laps and was going through the pictures on my laptop. She kept reminding me that she will soon be going home. She said it more than 7 times because I counted it.
Since yesterday, she hasn't replied or pick my call after she left. What is wrong with me... Could this be because I have been with a lot of women? Why have I suddenly lost interest in sex
If u stay in nigeria for the next 10yrs I can assure you you will have succeeded in wasting your life. Or feel unfulfilled..u will be way below ur peers who av relocated..add 10yrs to ur current age. Even if u begin with farm work leave this country.

How it's only the ppl close to political power that are enjoying the benefit of the govt.

EDGEof2MORO: adopting a child is not like going to a market to buy akara
when slavery was a business, human beings were sold in auction like property, we are trying not to go back to those days but these men and woman that run "baby factories" are trying to send us back for the peanuts they get from selling babies.
Baby factories can't adopt babies..its the govt that is in charge..that gives the document
EDGEof2MORO: no. you got it opposite. it is because these baby factories that we have the bottlenecks.
with an ever deteriorating economy, someone or some people can decide to kidnap young girls, get them pregnant, and sell their babies to couples that are trying to adopt. the "bottlenecks" exist to ensure adoptees are not babies from "baby factories" and other nefarious deals.
some of those so-called chibok girls were taken to be used as baby-making-machines, more of that keeps happening but the news does not cover it. Nairaland users are calling themselves afonjas and skull-miners online while the real criminals are ravaging their society in real life.
The govt can create a legal route which I believe is already in place but its just too cumbersome..for every adoption the local and state govt and even the court should be aware and it must be properly vetted.
You call adopting an evil act...why is that so..u feel some ppl can't take care of child who isn't their biological child..of course you will see few erring individuals. That's why Foster homes is non existent in the country..and with the quality of men and women becoming parents expect more children that would require adoption or Foster homes.
It's very easy the local govts should be told to open an account with the cbn..any local govt dat doesn't have an account won't receive their allocation and state government should not expect to be the receiver of the allocation
Wakatumbit: I and my wife have been married for close to 5 years now and we have a 2 year old baby.
The issue I'm having with my wife is that she has become a liability to me, she doesn't want to do anything.
I opened a business for her which I have spent almost 3m+, she doesn't even go to the business, I've paid rent twice on the place but I'm not sure she has even made upto 100k from it.
She doesn't do anything at home aside from cooking, she just wakes up in the morning and press her phone from morning till night, she won't sweep or clean the house, I can't even have an unexpected guest in my house because the house is always dirty and everything. The kitchen always looks like a cesspool of infection because she can't even clean it
All she wants to do is take pictures and look fine, recently she complained that I don't give her money for her upkeep and I told her that the reason I opened the business for you is so you can have your own personal income as a woman.
Through out last year, all the money I made I didn't see anything (I just struggled to get a car), because of expenses of my family and my wife isn't helping out at all.
She wants expensive things and she doesn't want to work. I'm really considering my options in the marriage because I can't continue living with that sort of a woman.
She must be a baddie..wat were the criteria u used in picking her as a wife.
