In an attempt to engage in price wars with other business men in the oil business..Sir carnegie also used it in the steel business and even foreign airlines tried using it against Air peace..but the timing of this is so skilfully timed that u will think its to help the masses..its to make those business men run at a massive loss and go out of business. Why didn't he do it for sugar...flour...cement...he wants to get market share at all cost...but Nigerians will pay for it later..its a form of pay less now and pay higher later. |

Politics › Re: My Parents Became Rich From Oil Boom In Nigeria: Kemi Badenoch by Blitzking: 12:24pm On Dec 19, 2024 |
Financialslot1: Kemi Badenoch, the British government minister and Member of Parliament for Saffron Walden, recently made headlines after sharing her personal story about how her parents amassed wealth during Nigeria’s oil boom. In a candid revelation, Badenoch spoke about the significant role that the economic transformation in Nigeria during the 1970s played in shaping her family’s fortunes. This statement has drawn attention, as it highlights not only her family’s background but also the broader historical context of Nigeria’s oil industry and its impact on individuals and families.
The Impact of Nigeria’s Oil Boom
Nigeria’s oil boom in the 1970s marked a period of rapid economic growth driven by rising oil prices and significant discoveries of oil reserves. As the country became one of the world’s largest oil producers, vast sums of money flowed into the economy, dramatically changing the financial landscape. During this period, many individuals, businesses, and families capitalized on the opportunities presented by the oil industry.
For Kemi Badenoch’s parents, the oil boom provided an avenue for economic prosperity. Her parents were able to take advantage of the growing demand for Nigerian oil and the influx of wealth that accompanied the rise in global oil prices. This success allowed them to build a comfortable life, and Badenoch’s own personal experiences have shaped her views on success and economic development.
Badenoch’s story reflects the broader economic transformations that Nigeria experienced during the oil boom. The period saw the rise of a new class of wealthy individuals, many of whom were involved in the oil industry either directly or indirectly. This class grew in prominence and influence, and the newfound wealth transformed Nigerian society, though not without its complexities and challenges.
Personal Reflections from Kemi Badenoch
In her remarks, Kemi Badenoch emphasized that her family’s financial success during the oil boom was a direct result of the economic changes happening in Nigeria. She reflected on how the wealth generated from the oil industry provided her family with opportunities that might not have been available otherwise. Badenoch pointed out that her parents, who were originally from Nigeria, worked hard to take advantage of the economic boom, and their success allowed them to offer their children a different kind of life.
Badenoch herself was born in the United Kingdom after her family moved there when she was a young child. Despite being raised in the UK, she maintains strong ties to her Nigerian heritage and has often spoken about the influence of her parents and their experiences. In her recent comments, she highlighted how their journey from Nigeria to the UK was rooted in the opportunities afforded by Nigeria’s oil wealth. This personal history is an important aspect of Badenoch’s narrative, shaping her understanding of global economics and success.
While acknowledging the positive impact that the oil boom had on her family, Badenoch also recognized the complexities of the situation. Nigeria’s oil wealth has been a source of both prosperity and controversy. The boom in oil revenue led to significant government spending, but it also created a dependence on oil and has been associated with corruption, mismanagement, and uneven wealth distribution. These issues have had long-term effects on Nigeria’s development and have contributed to a wider debate about the true benefits of the oil boom for the country’s population.
The Broader Impact of Nigeria’s Oil Wealth
The wealth generated by Nigeria’s oil industry is a double-edged sword. While it has provided substantial financial resources for the government and many individuals, it has also contributed to economic inequality and political instability. Despite being one of the wealthiest countries in Africa, Nigeria has struggled with poverty, unemployment, and corruption. The country’s heavy reliance on oil revenue has left it vulnerable to fluctuations in global oil prices, leading to economic instability.
Badenoch’s personal story touches on this paradox. On one hand, the oil boom allowed her family to flourish, providing her with opportunities for success. On the other hand, she is aware of the broader consequences of the oil industry’s role in shaping Nigeria’s economy and politics. Her comments highlight the complexities of benefiting from an industry that, while offering wealth to some, has not always translated into widespread prosperity for the country as a whole.
The Nigerian government’s management of oil wealth has been a subject of ongoing debate. For many, the oil boom promised economic prosperity but instead led to a concentration of wealth among a small elite, while the majority of Nigerians have seen little benefit. Corruption, lack of transparency, and poor governance have undermined the potential of Nigeria’s oil wealth to drive sustainable development. These issues continue to affect Nigeria’s growth and have fueled discussions on how the country can diversify its economy and move away from its dependence on oil.
Kemi Badenoch’s Political Perspective
As a British politician, Kemi Badenoch’s background provides a unique perspective on both Nigeria’s oil boom and its impact on global economic dynamics. Badenoch has been outspoken about issues of economic opportunity, individual empowerment, and the importance of strong governance. Her personal experiences growing up in a family that benefited from Nigeria’s oil wealth have shaped her views on economic policy and governance.
In her role as a government minister, Badenoch has been an advocate for free markets, entrepreneurship, and creating opportunities for individuals to thrive. She often speaks about the importance of hard work and personal responsibility, values that were instilled in her by her parents, who capitalized on the economic opportunities afforded by the oil boom.
Badenoch’s political career has been marked by her commitment to driving economic reforms, and her background in a family that experienced both the benefits and complexities of oil wealth has influenced her outlook. She has frequently emphasized the need for transparent, accountable governance and has worked to create policies that encourage innovation and growth in various sectors.
Kemi Badenoch’s reflection on her family’s rise to wealth during Nigeria’s oil boom offers a personal insight into the impact of Nigeria’s oil industry on individual lives. While acknowledging the advantages that the oil boom provided her family, she also recognizes the broader challenges that Nigeria faces due to its reliance on oil. Her story is a reminder of the complex legacy of Nigeria’s oil wealth, which has had both positive and negative consequences for the country and its people. As Badenoch continues to navigate her political career in the UK, her background serves as a unique lens through which she views global economic issues, governance, and the pursuit of prosperity.

Ringstonermasks: Some months back, i and my wife went to cinema, we sat next to a woman that was noticeably older than I. My wife got a call from my sister and went out to answer, it was at that moment that the woman and i found a common ground about the boring movie and we ended up exchanging contacts.
She didn't call and i didn't either. Until one day i remembered her, i called her and we arranged to meet at a secluded bar. We met and discussed, she was married, yeah, she is still married though. Bt not with a child. We talked for hours and i really connected to her, she was in so much pains in her marriage.
That evening, i told my wife about it on the phone. I didn't see it as a big deal, but she advised i cut all ties with her, which to me was going too far.
We started chatting, and then she said she would love to meet again at thesame spot. We met and then she brought the proposal, let us make love and see if she could get pregnant. It was not a bad idea, this woman was fine, with fat back and fine Skin with a Benz model that have never seen before. It was a tempting offer. But then, i told her, i would think about it and get back to her next week.
No financial obligations was made.
I included my wife's role in the write up to show how much dedication i have towards my own marriage.
Also, her(d woman) was apparently loaded. I didn't get to know her husband's name. I don't even know much about her, not even her surname or her job. But she was Loaded, very loaded.
Considering her age, i would say around 45, so Menopause was definitely fast approaching her.
What would you do in that situation If her husband shoot you now while in the act won't it be deserved...look b4 u leap..her husband might be a general in the army u know. |

Kudos to President @officialabat for blocking loopholes and freeing up funds for rapid development. States and Local governments are now receiving unprecedented allocations, and it's time for Nigerians to enjoy the dividends of these reforms.
I enjoin our State Governors to make judicious use of these increments in allocations in service of our people.
