Passengers on a flight about to take off from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos, received a shocker when an unknown man exited the bush with a bag and climbed on the plane engine.

According to Amb. Otto Orondaam, the unknown man ran to the plane as it was taxing on the runway just before takoff. The pilot was forced to stop the plane when he sighted the man.



The unknown man, suspected to be a stowaway because of the gloves he was wearing and his bag, ran to the plane and climbed onto it, then put his bag into the engine as horrified passengers watched.

His actions held up the plane for about 30 minutes before authorities showed up and apprehended him.

Guys this is an emmergency o.
For 30 minutes we have been stuck at the runway at MMIA by an unidentified man who ran to the aircraft with a bag.
Security has not showed up and everyone is panicking.
I have so many questions to ask but right now I can’t even breathe.
Pls share this to all relevant authorities.

How it happened!! So our flight was taxing on the runway and about taking off when this man shows up running towards the moving aircraft from the bush. The pilot and a few passengers spotted him running towards the aircraft and the pilot immediately slowed down and quickly put off the engine.
The guy approaches the plane with gloves and starts walking around and under the aircraft holding a bag which he dropped inside the engine.
Thanks to the Pilot of the Azman Airline for quickly observing and taking swift action.. I still have a million and one questions to ask cos anything could have gone wrong! Nigeria will work perfectly someday. This I know.

According to media reports, the Anambra State Police Command on Thursday, arrested a female armed robber and her accomplice, who have been terrorising Abatete community with robberies and other heinous crimes.

Parading the suspects, spokesperson of the command, Haruna Mohammed, said that on Thursday, following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Eziowelle Division in conjunction with Abatete vigilante group arrested duo namely,

The Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps, Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, on Wednesday, promised an automatic job, two limbs and other assistance to Nurudeen Tahir, a corps member who recently lost his arms in an auto crash after completing the camp orientation exercise in Jalingo, Taraba State

Ibrahim, who made the promise when he visited Tahir and other corps members at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, said that the welfare of Corps members is very paramount to the Scheme’s management at all times.

The NYSC, in Taraba, had earlier posted Tahir to Kano but he insisted he served in Taraba and requested to be posted to Mambilla Plateau.

After the closure of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Stream One orientation course, on Monday, 8th July, 2019, Tahir, from Gwarzo LGA of Kano, and 18 other corps members were involved in a motor accident on their way to their places of primary in Sardauna Local Government Area. One of the Corps members died while the rest were seriously injured.

The Director General assured the victims of the unfortunate incidence and their families that NYSC will foot the bill of their treatment. He particularly said that arrangements are being made to obtain artificial limbs for Nuradeen, who lost both arms in the ugly event.

According to reports, A Kenyan woman who hacked her husband to death and strangled her two children before hanging herself have been laid to rest alongside other family members.

The family of four were all laid to rest on Thursday at Lang’ata Cemetery, Nairobi.

Joyce Wanjiru, 30, reportedly hacked her husband, Joseph Gitau with an axe in the back of the head and stabbed him in the back with a knife at their home in Thome 5 Estate, Nairobi. Gitau’s body was found on the bed.

Wanjiru also strangled their two children. One was found on a couch while the other child’s body was discovered on his small bed.

The woman who has been with her husband for 10 years was later found hanging from a roof beam.

The motive behind the killings which happened on July 9 in Thome 5 Estate is still a mystery, but it was claimed that the husband was constantly battered by his wife, Joyce Wanjirui.



According to his longtime friend, Steven Kariuki, Gitau was too reserved to say what was really on his mind as he was beaten and humiliated by his wife.

“You would never notice if Gitau had problems or not. I am so mad at him, even if he’s dead. He didn’t speak to me. I didn’t know he had problems. We wouldn’t be where we are right now if he did.

Kariuki said his “heart is very broken as we started our friendship back when we were children. Our parents are friends. I used to pass by his workplace quite often and discuss things then go back to our businesses,” Kariuki said at the burial… so sad.

A former Technical Adviser to the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Tunde Disu OFR, has said that the senior national team, Super Eagles deserves a better goalkeeper to keep up with football’s current standard.

Disu made his stance known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday while commenting on the lapses of the first choice goalkeeper, for the Super Eagles, Daniel Akpeyi.

The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, and Director of Radio Biafran, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has blamed the National Leader for the All Progress Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, of spreading lie focused against the Igbo race.

Earlier this morning, an unidentified lady lost her life after she was knocked down by a vehicle. The accident occurred at the Ojota end of the Independence tunnel, Maryland, Lagos.



According to a report, the deceased was using earpiece when the accident happened

Curiously, despite the presence of a public ambulance at the scene, the body of the lady was positioned by one of the medians.

Officials of the Nigeria Police Force, LASTMA were on ground to attend to the situation and ensure that traffic was not impeded.

According to media reports, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has raised the alarm over the importation of expired and low quality tomato paste from Iran.

Gunmen have killed an uncle to Ishaku Abbo, the senator seen recently in a video assaulting a woman.

The assailants also abducted Mr Abbo’s nursing stepmother during an attack in his home state of Adamawa on Saturday.

Police and locals said the attack occurred in Muchalla ward in Mubi North Local Government of Adamawa State.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday vowed that the federal government will not allow anyone who kills or maim another under any guise to go unpunished. Protesting cattle herders on Friday blocked the ever-busy Benin-Asaba-Onitsha Dual carriageway, causing traffic gridlock which stretched for several kilometres. It was gathered the blockade was over the alleged killing of a truck driver conveying cattle at Issele-Azagba junction near Asaba, Delta State capital. The swift intervention of the police doused tension building up after some youths in the community and commuters started planning to attack the herders.

The Nation gathered the deceased identified as Adamu Adamu, was allegedly killed by revenue collectors on Thursday night. As a result of the blockade, travellers to and from the eastern part, were stranded for several hours, as the herders insisted on retaliation. A Kogi University lecturer identified as Dr Jamiu Abdullahi, has been confirmed dead after he slumped at a hospital while awaiting his test result. The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies’ lecturer who last collected his salary in February 2019, was reportedly unable to seek medical treatment for the High Blood Pressure (HBP) which led to his death. “The family of the deceased could not take him to a better hospital because of lack of fund.
