Former Super Eagles star Kanu Nwankwo who was recently listed as one of the world's legend has reportedly been sued by his business partner for N1 billion.

Nwankwo and Gam-Ikon had been joint owners of the Hardley suites, until Gam-Ikon had been arrested and charged to court in 2013 for defrauding the business of about N1.4 billion. Gam-Ikon was discharged and cleared of all charges on the 30th of July, 2015, and is now suing the former Arsenal player for malicious prosecution.

He claims “to have lost valuable time and years of his prime life attending court and facing trial,” and is seeking the sum of N1 billion in damages.

“The claimant was devastated by the effect of his arraignment, imprisonment at Ikoyi prison during the perfection of bail and pendency of a criminal charge and has been running from one hospital to the other for medical assistance owing to his debilitating ill health and has only just started showing signs of improvement,” his lawsuit stated.

Kanye has recorded a remixed version of Aerosmith's, Dude (Looks Like a Lady), to get back at Wendy Williams for dissing him on her show over the now squashed beef with Wiz Khalifa.

According to Daily Mail, he is also upset that the TV star has repeatedly talked on air about him being secretly gay and has called his marriage to Kim Kardashian 'one of convenience.' Wendy has referred to Kim as Kanye's 'beard' a couple of times.

On the track, Kanye made references to untrue rumors that Wendy was born a man and had a sex change which initially circulated in the 1990s during her notorious radio career in New York. According to the source, Kanye's lyrics went:

First of all, we didn’t expect Olams to be the first to join Uncle Segs in the respectable Marriage Club not because he was the youngest but because Olams didn’t paint the picture of someone that was ready but then I have come to realize that with these things you don’t really prepare for it, it just hits you and you just follow. Its like falling in love with small chops, you can’t say the first time you started liking it, you only just realized that you started craving it more.


We were scared not ready not because we were not old enough but because to some of us, marriage is like the MBA of adulthood and once you get to that stage in Igboland, you are automatically ready to contest for a position in your village progressive union. I wasn’t ready to join Umuomaku progressive union. I’ve even heard they don’t drink palm wine during their annual meeting.
I know some of you are just here to know what happened at Toolz and Tunde’s Engagement ceremony, hang on; we’ll get there but it wouldn’t be a complete story if I don’t start from the very beginning.

With Olams & Ebuka out of the hard school of singlehood, it opened the door to “When will you marry?” commenters and when we were about to crown Tunde the leader of the new group of the remaining singles, he left Banky & I.
The date was set and we were all ready for January 30th to support yet another one of us leaving the singles club.
I digress, this is not the story you really want to read but I promise you, if you keep reading, I’ll get to the point and I promise to tell it all as it happened.

On Saturday, Tunde asked his family and friends to assemble at Hard Rock café for pre drinks, pictures and bants before walking over to Landmark for the engagement proper.
I got there on time dressed fully in my Agbada finishing off the look with my walking stick. Within minutes more people arrived and the restaurant was filled with people in Agbada with their filas bent in different ways.


At about 12:15 I saw them pulling in and like everyone else, we didn’t know the events of the day was going to turn out the way they did.

Greetings and a general photographs done, we settled inside the café for drinks and finger food. New friends were formed over finger food and even though Tunde was nervous, he had his best friends and family beside him.

The moment they drove in, I recognized them because Kunle was driving with Banky in the passenger seat and Tunde siting at the back like the badass groom.
12:15pm quickly moved to 4pm and when we were called in, we moved quickly to landmark with Ebuka fanning Tunde with his akupe, my walking stick dancing above his head and his goons dancing behind him. It was the an entourage close to what Eddie Murphy’s father had the first time he arrived America.

We dobaled but then Tunde stayed a bit longer on the ground as a sign of respect to his father-in-law. I think that was cool and the smile from the father-in-law confirmed his approval of that act of respect.
Once Tunde sat on the chair reserved for the groom and bride, we knew it time to move to space reserved for us at the lounge.
With a drink in hand, I watched the beautiful bride dance in with friends, take pictures with her dad and in-laws, then go up to sit beside the groom.

Speeches were made, prayers said and then King Sunny Ade introduced the music for the Naira rain. KSA played like he wasn’t going to stop until he noticed that DJ Xclusive was on standby. Xclsive Took over from KSA and played until 12:01 with an Olamide performance in between.
Music went on until the sound engineer turned off his equipment forcing us to go home early Sunday morning.
It was a good evening and we missed Peter Bello.

Anyone who knows Oritsefemi will know he and his former manager were so close, they were like 5 and 6. They did things together and beyond business had a brotherly relationship. However, that has changed as the two parted way eight months ago. Pope Francis is set to feature in a movie 'Beyond the Sun' which will make him officially the first Roman Catholic pope to play himself in a big screen production. The movie will be a family adventure story where children from different cultures emulate the apostles while searching for Christ in the world around them,according to AMBI Pictures,the makers of the film.


The idea for the film came from the Holy Father, who approached the filmmakers at AMBI Pictures, asking them to produce a movie that could effectively portray Gospel passages & parables to children All proceeds from “Beyond the Sun” will go to El Almendro and Los Hogares de Cristo, charities in Argentina that provide support for at-risk children and young adults in need. AMBI pictures co-founder Andrea Iervolino said in a statement that working with the Holy Father will be a highlight of his career.

“Our excitement and gratitude toward His Holiness, Pope Francis participating in this film is beyond words. "This is not just a movie for us, it’s a message, and who better to have on your side to deliver an important societal and spiritual message than the Pope.”

The Anambra Government on Thursday sealed-off no fewer than 35 buildings in the industrial town of Nnewi over the refusal of the owners to pay property rate of over N150 million.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the buildings included commercial banks, hotels, business plazas, filling stations, hospitals, residential homes as well as primary and secondary schools.


Chinenye Okafor , the Head, Human Resources and Administration, Anambra Property and Land Use Charge (APLUC), explained that the closure followed various court judgments obtained against the tax evaders.

Okafor said after the exercise, that the affected buildings owed the state government a total sum of N150, 455, 814.59

She said that the agency, in 2014 and 2015, carried out similar enforcement in Awka and Onitsha on 125 buildings, noting that more buildings would be sealed-off as soon as judgments were obtained.

“We are advising property owners in the state, particularly in Onitsha, Awka, Ogidi and Nkpor, to go and pay their property rates or face the wrath of the law.

“We had discussion with some of them and they had promised to pay since November 2014, but up till now, we have not seen any positive response from them.

“We are no longer interested in continuing with appealing or sensitising them because we have tried it for more than two years now and nothing was coming out of it.

“The government has considered the second option of litigation and enforcement this time after dialogue had failed,” Okafor said.

The Medical and Health Workers Union, Lagos State council, on Saturday, said that it would embark on public enlightenment to discourage drinking of garri for now to prevent Lassa fever. Mr Razak Adeofalade, Chairman of the union, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

According to him, the house rats that cause Lassa fever are mostly in contact with Nigerian most staple food, garri, a cassava product. "We are going to encourage members of the public to stop drinking gari at this moment, it is better that the cassava flour is utilised for 'eba’ because of the use of hot water.


We are waging total war and that is: 'War against Rats,’ and that is what we are going to do to ensure we do not have another victim of Lassa fever in the state. "We will also be telling them to ensure that their fruits and raw vegetables are properly washed if they must be consumed raw and cook to the appropriate temperature.

The whole essence is to enlighten our people because education carries a lot of weight in this whole activity," he said.

President Muhammadu Buhari will today, Sunday, 17th embark on a three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

A statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu on Saturday, said during the course of the visit, Buhari would join the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan of Abu Dhabi and other participants as a special guest of honour at this year’s edition of the World Future Energy Summit.


The statement further said: “From the visit, Nigeria also expects to get more support from the UAE for its war against terrorism and the recovery of Nigeria’s stolen funds.”

He will be accompanied by the ministers of Power, Works and Housing, Petroleum, Environment, Justice, Trade and Investment, Finance and Foreign Affairs, as well as the National Security Adviser.

The Federal Ministry of Health has confirmed the death of a Lassa fever victim at the National Hospital in Abuja. The death came a day after the Ministry confirmed that 41 persons had died so far, with 93 people in 10 states going through treatments, but said there were no reports of new cases.

While announcing the death at the National Hospital on Wednesday, the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, called on Health workers at all levels to be more vigilant and look out for patients with symptoms of the virus.

People have mind o. Two men, fronting to be President Muhammadu Buhari’s private security aides, were at the weekend, arrested at the Afao-Ekiti country home of the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose for presenting themselves as staff of the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA.

The two fake aides to President Buhari, Benedict Ola Idega and Abdulsalami presented themselves as staff of the ONSA with influence over the report of the military panel set up to investigate alleged involvement in partisan politics by some soldiers and officers during the 2014/2015 governorship election conducted in some states such as Ekiti, Osun, Rivers and Akwa-Ibom.

They claimed that they already had the preliminary report of the military panel and that with the cooperation of the governor, they could manipulate the final report if necessary. Speaking further, they said the army panel report was targeted at some top army officers that the Federal Government wanted to punish.

It was reported that the two men, in a meeting with the governor presented what they called a photocopy of page three of the preliminary report to show that they meant business. Governor Fayose, after glancing at the purported preliminary report, gave a positive nod and asked them to wait in his waiting room so he can reward them bountifully. Governor Fayose, who was suspicious of the men’s real intentions, then called in the State Commissioner of Police and Director of the State Security Service, who in turn asked their men to move in and arrest the two men.

Former President Good­luck Jonathan has replied legal luminary Professor Itse Sagay SAN over the former's statement that Jonathan should confess his involvement in the deal before he is arrested.


In a statement issued by Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman, his former minister of National Planning, Jonathan stated that, “one should expect the re­spected learned scholar to know that you don’t hang a suspect on the pages of newspaper or via social media until he or she is found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction”.


“Accordingly, even where the learned jurist feels passionate of such a sensitive but sensational issue, he should know the right route to the vil­la rather than taking such prejudicial position. “It is high time our legal luminaries confined themselves to the noble eth­ics of their profession than toeing the path of some mischief politicians.

“And we pray that when the report of his Committee finally comes out, it will reflect and incorporate the noble principles of rule of law, fair hearing and impartiality so as to meet the ir­reducible minimum standard expected in matters of this nature. We also pray that it may not end up dashing, rather than raising the hopes of average Ni­gerian in the vintage APC fashion, as with most things these days”, Professor Sagay who is also chair­man of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption, had ad­vised Jonathan to secretly confess all he knew about the scandalous $2.1 billion arms deal.

He stated during the week that if Jonathan goes by the advice, he may be accorded the respect due to him by virtue of being a former president. He also pointed out that Jonathan's concession of defeat to Buhari does not make Jonathan a hero, as one good action could not correct several evil deeds.

Where do I even start this story from? How can someone's best friend get married to one's husband just four months after one's demise?

This is the case of Queen of Aso Nigeria 2014, an Abuja-based beauty pageant Florence Esu. She is engaged to her friend’s husband, Dr. Bright Echefu, four months after the friend died during pregnancy.

The pair got engaged this past Saturday, December 19, 2015 and invited Queen Of Aso Nigeria 2009 Jennifer Igwegbe and other members from the pageant’s management team.

Cindy Echefu, Bright’s late wife, died less than a month after turning 28 years old, this August, 2015, when she was pregnant with the couple’s third child.

Friends and some family members, including Cindy’s cousin, have taken to Facebook and Instagram to pour out their suspicions and frustrations on Bright moving on too quickly, in their opinion.

A photo of his new fiancee is now his profile picture on his Instagram page.

He has replied,

“Engagement doesn’t mean we have been sleeping with each other. She is the only friend I can keep in the care of kids.”

He also added his late wife’s family fully supports him and even his late wife would support him if she was alive, saying,

“My late wife’s family are fully aware of this decision and they knew I did it for the sake of our kids” and “The Cindy I have known and loved so dearly is part of this decision.”

The friends and family of the deceased are so angry, and they won't stop pouring their anger on social media.

Actor Charlie Sheen has spoken out at about his HIV-positive diagnosis in a recent interview, promising to find a cure for the disease.

“I’m really clear, really good, positively focused. It was such a tremendous weight lifted off my shoulders when I made the announcement,” Sheen said in an interview with The National Enquirer.

“I realized afterwards, I wish I had possibly done it sooner. As we’ll discuss, there were a lot of different elements in the mix that prevented me from doing that.”

The Anger Management star revealed that the disease never kept him down, and that he’s working hard to find a cure. “It was shortly afterwards — I think it was the second day — I said to my mom,

‘This disease picked the wrong guy.’ If anybody can fight this thing and discover a cure, it’s me. I will exhaust every resource available to me. I will sit with every expert. I will move forward until something’s revealed. If there’s a cure out there, I will find it and share it. You have my word.”

Duro Olowu has carved a nice for himself in the fashion and design industry. The Nigerian designer who designs for U.S First Lady, Michelle Obama has added another cap to his feather.

Michelle Obama has enlisted Nigerian-born fashion designer Duro Olowu and other creative masterminds to decorate the White House for the holidays.

Olowu said in an interview with Elle Magazine. "My idea [was] to create a beautiful feast for the eyes reminiscent of a warm and joyful season filled with international treasures and signature fabrics," Olowu told Elle magazine.

This year’s holiday theme at the White House is “A Timeless Tradition,” which inspired Olowu’s unique designs in the Vermeil room. To transform the space, which is sometimes used as a ladies’ sitting room during formal events, Olowu brought in two 8-foot Christmas trees, which he draped in stunning ribbons, ornate appliqué and encrusted ornaments. The London-based designer also created custom teddy bears using vintage African fabrics.

Born to a Jamaican mother and a Nigerian father, Olowu was raised in Lagos, Nigeria’s main commercial hub. He spent much of his childhood traveling to and from Nigeria and various cities in Europe. Olowu studied law in London before returning to Nigeria for several years and developing his eye for fashion. The offbeat patterns, rich textures and eclectic colors of his designs reflect both his African heritage and world view.

Olowu has won a several fashion awards. His high-waisted, Kimono-like silk “Duro” dress was voted “Dress of the Year” in 2005 by both British and American Vogue. Olowu also won the “Best Designer of the Year” award from the British Fashion Council that same year. In 2010, he was named “Best International Designer” at the African Fashion Awards in South Africa

The Court of Appeal in Abuja yesterday nullified the election of Senate Minority leader Godswill Akpabio as the Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in the Senate.

The Court of Appeal in its ruling said their judgement was based on the violations of the Electoral Act during the senatorial election between Mr. Akpabio and the APC candidate Inibehe Okori. The court ordered a rerun election within 90 days.

In a related development, the Court of Appeal in Abuja also nullified the election of Senator George Sekibo representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the Senate. The court also nullified the election of two Rivers state House of Representatives members.

They are Kingsley Chindah of Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency, and Blessing Nsiegbe of Port Harcourt 2 Federal Constituency.

Violence has marred the 2015 gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa state which held on the 5th of December, 2015. Clashes between rival parties were reported in the Southern Ijaw, Ekeremor, Brass and Nembe Local Government Areas of the state, with the number of casualties skyrocketing.

Some LGAs reported relatively peaceful elections, such as Yenagoa, Kolokuma/Opokuma and Ogbia. There was a very low turnout of voters for the elections, with the violence reportedly making many people stay indoors.
