4. Venus Venus, 3.5-times bigger than the Moon, and so bright and reflective it would make the night sky as bright as day. Venus is only slightly smaller than the Earth so it would appear around the same size as our planet does from the moon.
|
3. Mars Mars is 2-times bigger than the Moon. This is what the red planet would look like at the same distance.
|
2. Mercury Mercury is a similar size to the moon. It would appear slightly brighter and larger than our moon in the night sky.

1. Moon The picture below is a regular old landscape photograph taken by artist Ron Miller, a former art director for NASA. It shows the moon in the night sky, 240,000 miles away. But have you ever wondered what this same night sky would look like if the planets were the same distance away from the earth? It would be interesting to have a different kind of “moon” in our night sky but in reality the effects on our planet would vary (absolutely catastrophic in some cases), ranging from massive tilt of the earth’s axis, chaotic spinning, erratic temperatures, stripping away of our atmosphere, crazy tides, less gravity, volcanic mayhem etc. But hey, won’t it be nice to have another kind of moon? Enjoy!!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2345679/Photographer-Ron-Miller-creates-incredible-pictures-look-like-planets-closer.html cc: seun, lalasticlala come and see

I'm about to eat now. Someone should come and take pictures. |
There was a "jailbreak" but they are yet to find out if any inmate "escaped or not" ![]() |
Lnxxxxx:I agree with your points. But the picture the partisan OP is trying to portray is that Buhari is on a "corruption crusade". If you also think the same way and don't think that it is merely a "vengeance" mission and an "opposition intimidating" vendetta, then I would like to question your thinking capability. Read my post again without sentiment and partisanship and try to get the message. Our country apart from being in a horrible economic nightmare is also more divided than ever along ethnic and religious lines. Buhari is destroying us with hate and disunity. We have never hated each other this much in the history of Nigeria. Note: I neither support the APC or PDP as these guys are the same and can switch sides at any instant just to get access to money and power. You should know this. I am only a law abiding and hardworking Nigerian who is interested in a peaceful and enabling economy to make a living and raise my offspring. |
God bless Ambode ![]() |
I now see why IBB kicked the cowardly dull@rd out of power ![]() This is the same guy that overthrew a hard earned civilian government but was kicked out without a single bullet. Please can someone name a successful business that this man has managed since he was kicked out of power? A school? or even a mosque Even a single contribution to the economy when he was desperately fighting for power? But we chose to let him take hold of a complex organization like Nigeria. He lost elections in 2011, people died. Only God knows what would have happened if he had lost in 2015. Very desperate and senile thing. Now look where we are! Hunger everywhere. Hate all over the country. Different agitations here and there. Economic nose dive. Chasing his enemies (political and personal) at the expense of the masses. What a presidiot!!! |

Lalasticlala...do you like rats ![]() |
I doubt this |
The time has come for Nigerians to sit together and evaluate our journey so far. And also to decide if we "really" want to continue as a country. The hate and disunity is at an all time high!!! Thanks to Buhari's 97% & 5% theory ![]() |

Ask yourself these simple questions: 1. Why did Buhari say from outside the country on May 29th say that he was gonna name people who returned loots, but suddenly developed cold feet due to legal bla bla bla, but chose to freeze the opposition's account (who is a sitting governor with supposed immunity) without condering the same legal balderdash. 2. How come apart from Saraki (who went against the wish of APC powers that be) no other APC politician's account has been "frozen" or has even been in EFCC custody even if its just for 2 hours ![]() 3. How come every one who is being vigorously hunted by EFCC, DSS et al are either those who oppose his government, those who offended him in the past or those who are not in his party? OP before you talk about the mental slavery of others, assess your own mental condition ![]() You went to school (or still in school) to get an upgraded thinking faculty. Try to use the brain once in a while abeg ![]()

International rating agency, Fitch Ratings, Thursday downgraded Nigeria’s credit ratings, indicating increased likelihood that the country will not be able to repay its debt obligations. Meanwhile, the naira, Thursday strengthened for the second consecutive day, as the interbank foreign exchange rate dropped to N281.67 per dollar. Citing increased fiscal and external vulnerability, slow fiscal and monetary adjustments and renewed insurgency in the Niger Delta, the Fitch downgrade Nigeria’s Long-term foreign currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to ‘B+’ from ‘BB-‘ and Long-term local currency IDR to ‘BB-‘ from ‘BB’. In a statement issued Thursday Fitch said that, “The Outlooks are Stable. The issue ratings on Nigeria’s senior unsecured foreign-currency bonds have also been downgraded to ‘B+’ from ‘BB-‘. The Country Ceiling has been revised down to ‘B+’ from ‘BB-‘ and the Short-Term Foreign-Currency IDR affirmed at ‘B’.” The new ratings imply that though Nigeria is presently meeting financial commitments there is a limited margin of safety and capacity for continued timely payments is contingent upon a sustained, favourable business and economic environment. Explaining the rationale for downgrading the country’s rating, Fitch said, “Nigeria’s fiscal and external vulnerability has worsened due to a sharp fall in oil revenue and fiscal and monetary adjustments that were slow to take shape and insufficient to mitigate the impact of low global oil prices. Renewed insurgency in the Niger Delta in 1H16 has lowered oil production, magnifying pressures on export revenues and limiting the inflow of hard currency. Fitch forecasts Nigeria’s general government fiscal deficit to grow to 4.2 percent in 2016, after averaging 1.5 percent in 2011-15, before beginning to narrow in 2017. “Despite expected increases in non-oil revenue, the agency expects overall general government revenue to drop to just 5.5 percent of GDP, from an average of 12 percent in 2011-15. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/vulnerability-nigerias-economy-worsens-fitch/

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Thursday said that any member of the party that agrees to serve in any committee set up by senator Ali Modu Sheriff is liable for anti party activity and would be held liable. Reacting to the inauguration of a congress committee for Edo election, the head of Publicity of the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye said with his action, it is clear that Sheriff does not mean well for the party. “It is now very clear that Ali Modu Sheriff is working very hard for the enemies of our great party. First the Edo primaries and all the processes leading to it were properly conducted , monitored and observed by INEC. Edo PDP chairman has warned Sheriff to stay clear of their affairs. The Party in the state is resolutely united behind Ize Iyamu the candidate. Anyone who serves in any committee set up by Sheriff will be engaging in anti party activity and will face disciplinary action” he said. He enjoined all members of the party to disregard Sheriff’s claim that the courts had reaffirm his leadership of the party. “As Sheriff did not display any Court order before the gentlemen of the press please disregard his claims and take it as one of fraudulent antics. Whatever he said today is the rantings of a sinking man trying to hold on to the last straw” he said. Senator Ali Modu Sheriff on Thursday had inaugurated a committee to conduct congress in Edo state for the forthcoming gubernatorial election, almost one week after Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker committee of the PDP conducted a congress in Edo with the emergence a successful candidate. The inauguration of the committee which is headed by Senator Hope Uzodinma took place at Senator Sheriff’s private office in the Maitama Area of Abuja was attended by some of his loyalists including the former secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo, Dr Cairo Ojuogboh, Senator Buruji Kashamu and others. Senator Sheriff explained that he had stayed away from the national secretariat of the party because senator Ahmed Makarfi had imported Fulani herdsmen who attacked Professor Oladipo at the party secretariat some days ago. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/sheriff-working-enemies-party-pdp/

Chairman of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, on Thursday, decried that some of his associates were using his name to dupe unsuspecting people. Magu disclosed this in a statement by the EFCC spokesperson, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren. Magu had come under severe attack following allegations of bribery against him. It was alleged that Umar Mohammed, a retired air force chief, reportedly being investigated by Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State services, DSS collected a bribe of $115m from a suspect for Magu. But in a swift reaction, Magu some of people known to have relationship with him position themselves as agents of the the commission to extort money from suspects under investigation. The statement read: “It has come to the attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, that some unscrupulous individuals now parade the streets posing as representatives of the acting chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, and extorting money from persons under investigation, promising them a soft-landing and, in some instances, giving them assurances that their cases would be closed. “Intelligence available to the commission indicate that some of them who are known to have relationships with the acting chairman are exploiting this knowledge to position themselves as agents of the anti-graft czar, to extort desperate suspects under investigation by the commission. “In the recent past, the commission notified the public of the activities of some individuals who cloned the phone number of Magu, using same to illegally solicit funds. Some even opened fake facebook accounts in the name of the EFCC boss and proceeded to use same to con unsuspecting citizens. But despite the alarms, it would seem that criminal minds are not deterred as their number seemed to have swelled. “The commission, for the umpteenth time, wishes to warn members of the public not to fall for the wiles of fraudsters and scammers exploiting the good name of the acting EFCC chairman to defraud desperate citizens. “Mr Magu has not and will never mandate any individual to demand gratification from persons under investigation.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/magu-raises-alarm-says-associates-using-my-name-to-dupe-people/
