I find it out rightly ridiculous and offensive to the cross of carvery, yes, they desire to do good but to sit on billions and appoint our mothers in 60s to sweep the church for 25/40k per month salary which they know isn't adequate in today's modern world... Yet I administer billions of funds.
Am I alright. Am I still sane or.. I don't get it |

GofuckYourself: At times I just look at things like this and smile
Slowly and surely the end of deceit is close.
All these spiritual conmen and women calling themselves pastors
Don't get me wrong. I'm also a Minister and called to serve at the pulpit. I don't think I have the desire to oversee 100 Billion and I will have members with little needs financial resources can meet and deliberately choose to look the other way This disturbing thought has been hunting my soup this evening and I can't seem to find peace in my soul I will be on the pulpit as my training season comes to an end. I pray I don't become such a man ever. Ever and ever. I find it very disturbing that finances is an issue with people of calling. See.. I got stuck one day at around midnight in a location far from my house. I looked for a church to pass the night.. Vigil I found one. A church in planks. I worshipped with them love the ministrations they received and welcomed and prayed with me. They called for offering at the close of service. When I got outside by dawn I was shock the car I saw the pastor driving was worth 2.2 Million.. The church he was ministering in was planks not worth more than 80k a year.... I couldn't shake it off my head and mind... Why not sell the car for the sake of the Love for the kingdom and fix the church up and grow from there Am I overthinking? |

Is it Morally And Spiritually right for me if I'm a Pastor and oversee let's say 100 Billion Naira in church funds and committ let's say 10 Billion Naira to building a new church building and don't committ as much to giving to members some of which have been loyal for about 10/20 years ...
And I keep committing gestures like Investing in edifices and do not attend to members welfare.. And yet I'm in position to ensure the financial welfare is looked after but don't do it.. And I keep doing this repeatedly having the oversight of resources to see to the improved financial welfare of members but don't do it...
Are there scriptures that judges me wrong for doing such? |

It definitely won't be the case for ever.. Just hope it ends sooner than later.. It's beyond poor. I've seen and had well educated persons gave me insane betrayals in my life. Judging by the picture with his comrade above reminds me of Tupac and a picture of him sitting in the midst of six friends all that betrayed him nearly to death before he died. Penguin2: Thomas Sankara, one of the finest gentlemen to have headed an African state. Assassinated with the help of the West.
The kind of Trial Blaise Campaoré is going through is the same kind of trial that Theophilus Danjuma should be going through but he has rather been rewarded with multiple oil wells.
Someday the North will pay. I'm telling you. The atrocities this Nation's oligarchs like Danjuma committed.. Only to be rewarded with oil Wells and insane deals and protectionism. Redemption is on its way |

owobokiri: Blaise Campaore is a symbol to the ruthlessness of the neo-colonial super powers in their affairs in Africa. This was Sankaras right hand man. So close to Sankara that when Sankara was told of the coup, he said that if Blaise was involved, there was nothing he could do. Sankaras father actually called on Campaore who used to visit his house with Thomas before the came to power , to tell him what happened to "his brother".. He did not just kill his friend, he hurriedly buried him in a shallow grave..
This man killed one of the most vibrant revolutionaries to come out of Africa. A vibrant young man determined to serve his people was mowed down on the orders of France because he refused to take orders from Paris. This also goes to those who keep accusing many African countries of being incapable of moving forward! When the best leaders are assassinated by western proxies, and misfits are made presidents, the destruction of the country becomes inevitable.
The story of Burkina Faso and Thomas Sankara shows that the influences of powerful foreign countries in dictating the politics of developing countries are the main reasons why most of these countries struggle.. Another good one. The same country has still not gotten itself in good shape even 35 years after this assassination. What best friends will continue to do in this world.... I choose to pin it on betrayal. Human greed and disloyalty than Western influence. A man without impure intentions can never be influenced or motivated from external source. Never. |

Ochoiho: The op justifying this exploitation of the populace with 'higher cost of production" can post these costs per bag to justify such claim. Is Dangote not making profit in the country where this same cement is sold at #1800 per bag? Cost of export as well as local transport is inclusive in the 1800 price. How can the op explain this. Dangote cement posted a profit after tax of over 300billion For 2019 YOA. Nobody takes anything from this world. We are all going to die and leave every thing behind. There is no reason why a bag of Cement should be more than 2k in Nigeria is competition is effective. God bless you o my brother. If excess profits is made in business at the expense of high product cost, what is a rational mind supposed to do? |

Neutralobserver: In other words, all the cement companies should sell cememnt at government controlled prices...tried before, usually wrecks the economy long term.
Plus you are quoting one of the oligarchs to make your point.
And BUA and Lafrarge could not reduce their prices....
You can buy BUA and Lafarge. I daresay their cement prices are cheaper. It does not have to be dangote...
Okay, so you think all the money dangote gets from cememt goes into his pocket.....a lot of that cash goes into worker's pockets too as salary. And workers of Dangote too need salary iNCREASES occasionally....also cost of doing business, maintenance of plants, upgrading...
It would have...prices would have been much higher. Another emotional reaction If you listen more patiently in life, you can give fitting answers. You will also. Denial up & down. The truth is that he makes loss in other place just to beat the competitors out of market. He then use the profit from Nigeria (being the largest market) to cover his loss. Neutralobserver: Dangote is not running an oligopoly...especially as there are two other companies.
So why is BUA operating freely...and Lafarge too?
Your problem is that you want cememt at a cheap price, not Dangote. The problem is the sector is under oligarchy and not liberalised, hence market prices is controlled by oligarchs which takes the power from the citizens reducing them to dummies, working slaves of the oligarchs https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2021/02/09/bua-advocates-liberalisation-of-cement-policy-to-crash-price/Are you aware that cement prices sky rocketed to 3500 Naira from about 2500 Naira because a complex equipment in Dangote got damaged... This created brief scarcity and triggered the cost to rise... And that when prices shoots up economically, it hardly wants to go back down even after repairs because Greed is the key factor here not economics of demand and supply This would have never happened in a liberalised economy because other producers would take advantage of market gaps to continue production without spike in prices |
Business › Re: Dangote Is Selling Cement For 1,150 Naira In Zambia by BluDesk: 11:53am On Apr 13, 2021 |
Xisnin: This is like saying the sky is blue. The price of any product depends on supply and demand. You have to look beyond the basics to understand the issue. Despite the topic, my submission was about economic realities and not specifically Dangote. So, this issue can only be solved from an economic and legal perspective, any other approach will have no effect.
Nigeria used to import more than half its cement until OBJ decided it was a bad idea. You don't hoard limestone just like investors don't hoard oil wells. You either own one or you don't. It is not something you share. BTW, do you support blanket allowance for the importation of any product into the country?
BUA is playing a psychology game as all capitalists do. The only thing wrong from the perspective of BUA is that Dangote cornered the largest part of the market. If the roles were switched, Dangote will be playing the same game. It is never about right and wrong for a capitalist. It is always about profit and outmaneuvering the competition. Which is also the beauty of capitalism. If Dangote lowers his price tomorrow, BUA will follow suit despite the "scarcity" excuse.
I actually read this article then. Rabiu isn't calling for more competitions in the real sense. He is calling for "liberalization" which is different because that would weaken his competitor but it isn't because he is some angel. Rabiu won't call for or work towards liberalization of any industry he dominates.
I still maintain that there is no specific law preventing new cement companies from starting up. One thing Rabiu could do is rally his own politician investors and introduce a new bill into the national assembly to correct any specific problem with the current policy. That would give Nigerians a real view of the industry. Just blaming "policy" is not enough. You shot yourself in the foot In street, you say Rabin is calling for help to weaken it's competitor, but that's the essence of liberalising the economy. To make it have free access to more players so prices and conditions and productivity can never be controlled by a single party Are you aware if Dangote was doing what it is in Nigeria in China and Europe, it has breached antiMonopoly rules and would be severely sanctioned.. Are you? The economy must truly be open. And not what it appears to be with Oliganomics. |
