I bought Bitcoinn in 2016 & forgot about my wallet. Despite the black swan & negative news that happened to Bitcoinn all these years, I never bothered. My friend we bought together sold when China banned cryptto because he was constantly monitoring. It is possible bitcoinn could have crashed, but I took the risk. Reason I said long term also has its own risk. When u constantly monitor your portfolio, fear will creep in & u are likely to make hasty decision. If u want to evaluate portfolio because of election, what will u do in d event of black swan in the stock market & u call yourself a long term holder? Lol. Go check how long Warren Buffet has held most of his stocks. Do I have investment I monitor, yes I do but for short term. There are fund managers I only install when I want to deposit, those are for long term. I don't keep their app on my phone.

I understand not everyone can handle long term. There are people that can't stay a day without checking their portfolio, those ones no fit do long term & na them plenty for here. So I understand the argument.

2. That you held for 5 years does not make it the benchmark definition for long term

3. The ultimate goal of investing is to make money. If you can achieve that short term, you’re better off than a so called long term investor

4. There are some stocks on NGX that if you had bought and forgotten some years ago, it would be worth zero today. Infact they have been delisted.

5.God forbid but what if an election leads to the total collapse of a country? No one would reward you because you invested long term, rather they would say such a person is foolish for not doing a basic risk assessment and readjusting / diversifying their portfolio

E.g if i move my investment from Nigeria to USA, i am still invested but not stuck in a particular market. If i short some stocks and go long on another, i am still a long term investor . 8. If you subscribe to equity funds, you would know that fund managers regularly rebalance their portfolio. Cardinal stone publishes their model equity portfolio every quarter or so. Would you say they are not long term investors because they always monitor their portfolio and respond to fundamental and market risks?

Long term comes with its risk & reward
This thing is self explanatory
If u can't hold an asset for a certain duration, it is short term. If u are holding long term, even when the stock market is crashing u are not selling, talk more of election. Your only responsibility as a long term investor is to invest in good assets, if it fails, so be it. But I can confidently tell anyone long term will make u the life changing money, there is a limit to how much u can make from short term.

All my assets I bought & forgot has made me the most money. If u are not ready to buy an asset & hold for minimum of 5 years without monitoring it up & down like a pregnant woman, then u are not ready for long term. Alot of u people mistake short term for long term here. Like I said in my previous comment, person wey dey hold asset for long term no get business with election.

As an investor, my perspective is dont just buy and forget.

Reevaluating doesn't mean you have to sell. It can mean a profit goal has been met and you need to take profit and invest somewhere else. Or cash out your total investment and put somewhere else. Or you set a new profit margin to attain.

Real investors are ready for the long term if need be. If your goals are achieved in a shorter term, you need to reevaluate.

The main idea is your investment goal- if you want to sit on the company board, you have to keep buying till you get to 5%

That idea of buy and leave for 10/20years without reevaluating is very risk from my POV if you not chasing to sit on the board as a NED

Without wishing to sound obnoxious, u are just writing long note for nothing. This thing is simple, if u are long term investor, u buy & forget for certain duration of years, nothing concern u with reevaluation. If u need to be reevaluating your portfolio because of election, whether to lock in profit, u are short term investor.

Even as a long term investor, you can't just buy and leave it for years. You will always need to reevaluate your portfolio and goal for each stock.

No need to pause all. You can be strategic by taking some profits and wait- safe option

Or you take risk of waiting till Jan and see how January plays out

If u need to be reevaluating portfolio after short term, that is no longer long term. Imagine someone that bought stocks January 2026 is reevaluating portfolio December 2026 because of elections, that is not long term. If u are long term investor, nothing concern u with election, just keep buying.

Please, is interest added to Capital on a specific day generally/automatically for all First Ally investors or individually after the completion of the 3months from the day one funded their accounts? In any case, given that l funded my account last Sunday 20th, when is my accrue interest going to become part of my investment?

On cowrie, l can see when my interest is going to become part of my capital with trustbank mmf but l can't see such info on First Ally platform

For first ally, u can see your interest daily, but it is not added to capital. Interest will be added to everybody's account on 1st October, but u will need to tap the refresh button close to your balance, but on the 2nd of October, it will automatically be added to your balance if u didn't tap d refresh button on the 1st

Thank you for your response. The charges is outside the excess they took from me. I bought a GTC, so I expected they'd refund the excess when the market opens and the order is executed. I expected to see the balance in my portfolio account but not.

They refunded the balance after I emailed them.

As regards illegen.d prediction, it's too early to knock it off, btcee has a history of doing opposite of mass prediction just like the dierich guy said. Btcee can go to 100k just to liquidate alot of people that shorted the market because of clarity act failure. It's too early to start casting blames, we still have 3 months till d end of d year.

I can't imagine the volume of shorts that will be liquidated. Because alot of people shorted d market after clarity act failed.

Even with clarity act failure the market is still pumping, it makes me to wonder if only d clarity act was successful, how bullish this market would have been.

These brokers always charge when buying shares. I don't use investnaija for buying stocks, I only use them for equity, I don't know much about their charges. You can contact their support for clarification. Their customer support is very responsive

Interest for mmf is withdrawable & added to capital after every 3 months.

Can anyone please help me. I bought osme gtco units @130 (as stated on the ocntract), they charged for VAT, commision and all, I have like almost 200k unaccounted funds. I was billed 145.96 per share, but on the contract it states 130/share plus all other charges. At the end, I still have 199k plus unaccounted funds. Not returned to me and not in my wallet.

I thoguht they are supposed to return my money when the market opens and the stock is credited at open rate.

I was skeptical initially before trying them but now theyve raised the bar soo high that i cant stand even a 5 minute delay while topping up or withdrawing from any fund manager anymore

Anyone that use first ally will find it hard to use other fund managers. I only use other fund managers for equity, but for mmf, it must be first ally, they are miles ahead.

Hello nairalanders, about 6 days ago i re-sprayed my car from dark blue to white. I told the guy that normally does my car papers for me and he asked me to do an affifavid and police report, which i paid him to do.

Yesterday i was driving and the police stopped me, i showed them my complete documents and the affifavid and police report too of the "change of colour I did"

That was when he initially noticed that i have changed the car colour, he called his colleagues that are around and stopping other cars ny by the other side of the road and they took my car to the station, that the affifavid and police report that i did isn't enough to back the change of colour that i did. Please is it really possible and true that the affifavid and police report isn't enough to back up the change of colour that i did? My car is still at the station at the moment, i don't have the 250k they're requesting to bail the car, i have been pleading for 100k but they refused.

During your first registration, u should have used CUSTOM as colour type, that way u can change colour as u wish without affidavit. But these guys just want to extort u. Maybe it is a flashy car. Call d police PPRO of your state.

All the previous Senate meeting that has been held this year what influence did they have on btcee? Bitcoinn has been on rally for the past 2 weeks going to 3 weeks now, what rally are u talking about again?
