Was at iyana iba the other day and I saw apples for just 200 naira. In an era where everything is expensive, how on earth did apples become cheaper than mango and oranges?

I also read using grinding machine to grind your tomatoes is bad because metal filings from the grinder enter the tomato and can affect the kidney.

We are just lab rats for the powers that be
Our grandparents used grinding stones because there were no blenders back then, yet to lived longer than this generation. Forget all those talk...

Thank you very much, we tried to do well, they told us that there is rock underneath that is why we didn't see well in our area.
For the price of the borehole, some charge N700,000 but the cheapest is N300,000. People are not ready to give water, no government water and nobody is selling water we beg to get buckets of water.
There was a day we bought 3 litres of fuel and gave our neighbor to put in their generator so that we can fetch one drum of water, they returned the fuel and gave us 3 buckets of water and lock their tap.
Haa, water is very important, if my neighbors are pumping their water and is wasting away, I always feel bad honestly.
But the source of borehole water is natural & unlimited, why are they this stingy with water?

This is so heartbreaking.,... Now I know for a certain I have to take my Hepatitis B Diagnosis seriously..... I've been nonchalant towards it.. Now it's looking so real to me.....
Not every hepatitis b is active, some are inactive which doesn't pose a threat to the liver. The thing is hepatitis b & alcohol do not mix at all, alcohol is naturally bad for the liver.

I inherited seven stems of Cocoa with a plot of land in the village that was only good for Agriculture from my dad about 5 years ago when he transion to the other side. I was struggling with a Para military job that the pay couldn't take me home.

I decided to look homeward. Applied for study leave, went back home to my father's land, cleared the only plot he had and extended the cocoa farm of seven stems to about 300 stems as at today.

I initially did 900 nursery for transplant but only about 300 survived.

Today my farm pays me more than what I spent 5years to study in school.
Bro how do one get into this?
I have more than a plot in my compound I'm not using, I was planning to build rental property there, but with the high cost of building & low ROI on rental properties, I think it will be more better I use it for farming.

I did such mistake by building a 4bedroom duplex in front and at the back a 2bedroom upstairs and a big sitting room and a room downstairs(For rent). Business became slow because of increase in fuel so I moved into the 4bedroom duplex(80 percent completion: painting and water tank stand plus soakaway are what's left ). I should have diverted the money I used for the 2 and 1 bedroom at the back into another business by now I won't be struggling with funds.
Chai it was a big mistake
It is always advisable not to spread hand on more than one project at a go, it is better to complete one, observe your finance before starting another one. Building a house in this country is capable of reducing one to nothing. You will deplete all your savings & the house will still be far from completion. At a point u will start envying people living in rent, because house project will almost take away your peace of mind.

It is possible with the Grace of God and cutting of ones coat according to ones size .. with the grace of God, I built my 3bedroom flat not earning upto 150k per month then .. though , it takes sometimes before I could finish it , no rushing.. I don't borrow money from anyone , no one gave me huge sum , I built it through savings of 1k,2k,5k etc as it comes daily to weekly and monthly till I finish it ... Firstly, I don't even live an extravagant life , all of my pursuit then is the house .. no reckless spending, just to save up and do the next thing till I finish it by God's grace .. I wanted to borrow 200k from Access bank within that time , them disappointed me . That was when I used all the money with me to purchased Tiles and i want the tiler to start work immediately.. I had to tell them to wait till ending or the following month , and I did it.. living at the house now .. 600k monthly will surely do it , that's if you're receiving the salary every month without delay from the company management..
You built your house in previous government & have no idea the current cost of building now. Someone earning 600k now can't build in this present day Nigeria. So long his feeding & welfare is included in that 600k.

All those city centres you see around today was ones a thick forest.
You Wen dey live with low salary,go find land buy for forest, build waytin you fit afford, civilization go come meet you there.
Before I forget,if you dey buy land for the forest, try acquire big land or try get land for land Banking, he gets why.
Price of bag of cement is same everywhere, whether in Ikoyi or rural area. Only price of land affects location, but the building cost remain the same regardless of location. Building in this present day Nigeria is not cheap anywhere. Anyone that get motivated with posts like yours to start when they are not adequately prepared will be left stranded & abandon that project.

Assuming I already own land in Nigeria, can a monthly budget of ₦600,000 realistically build and complete a standard 3-bedroom house within 1 year? Please provide a detailed cost breakdown covering foundation, block work, roofing, electricals, plumbing, finishing, labor, and other miscellaneous expenses based on current building costs in Nigeria in 2026. Also suggest the most cost-effective building strategy and indicate whether the budget would fully complete the project or only reach certain stages
Please read the post again
A family man earning 600k per month will struggle to run a family of 3 with good education & health care, not to talk of building a house. Earning 600k is different from a budget of 600k. For u to budget 600k monthly it means u are earning above 1m. Mind u 70% of people building houses in this current government are regretting why they started.

Obviously u haven't built a house recently so u won't understand. 200k salary to build which house?? You will really struggle to build a small bungalow with 600k salary & it will really take years if u have no savings & u may abandon the project if u have a family.

I have four children and I can take care of them and I can't imagine me not having children whether I am poor or rich...but by my own standard,I think I am financially stable based on my earning power.
So,everyone has a choice of both rich or poor to make...the choice is theirs to make.
But their choice is affecting others
I watched an interview of two boys that k!lled their 17 years friend recently. After listening to that interview, I realized the damage birthing kids u can't cater for can be damaging to the society. It is not enough to say it is choice, when it affects the society in the long run. Why do u think there is so much banditry in the North? Parents birthing kids they can't cater for, is a monster problem in this country.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by Bluearrow: 5:36pm On May 09
Beeron:
Your concern is really valid and honestly, many experienced traders, investors and Equity fund managers will start getting cautious when everybody suddenly becomes a “market expert” and some low cap stocks start doing x2/x3 quickly, social media becomes euphoric with the news and some people will begin to believe stocks only go up and they can quickly invest in hope to double and triple their money and so they just buy in and in the process creating a bubble.

But first:

let’s separate crypto psychology from stock market reality because they are similar in some ways — but also very different.

I also trade Crypto, crypto futures precisely not spot trade, Infact, crypto Futures trade was the reason I had to learn and figure out a strategy to study and predict market behavior via chart after losing lots of money trading futures, so you can say I learnt on the job lol.

Anyways, eventhough if a bubble is created in the Nigeria stock market, Nigeria stocks doesn't crash like crypto, Crypto can crash 70%-90% quickly but NGX crash slower, first, it enters a bearish season(the phase where CSpinkblack usually says, top up, top up... ..... I love that guy lol), then secondly, it enters a phase of trapping late buyers, thirdly, it enters a phase of wiping out speculative stocks (this is why people always advise newbies to invest more in large cap, high volume stocks and ignore speculative stocks like Zichis, redstarex, stocks in the insurance section etc)

Now large cap, high volume stocks are usually tied to companies earnings, dividends, interest rates, inflation, FX, and corporate governance and policy.

So, high volume, large cap stocks usually recover eventually "quickly" after bubble burst, correction or crash. But you can't say the same of crypto or low cap speculative stocks as they usually take long time to recover.

So to your other question, Can forthcoming elections affect stocks negatively?

The answer is yes, because before elections markets often become nervous, volatile, cautious and foreign investors especially reduce exposure. If you ask me why.

Well it's because, Investors hate:
uncertainty, policy surprises, instability risk

Foreign investors may wait until election outcome is clearer and stability is confirmed in the country.
Thank u for the detailed explanation as always.👍 Seeing speculative stocks doing numbers was what triggered my concern. Anyone that can survive cryptto futures can survive anything, I think cryptto futures is the most riskiest trade as far as anything trading is concerned. Na spot trading I waka reach.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by Bluearrow: 3:59pm On May 09
I have not really been into Nigeria stocks, I just got into stocks recently because cryptto get as e behave this season. But at this point I'm wary of the way the Nigeria stock market is going, it is just too bubbling for my liking & these kind of bullish run usually come with a serious dip that will throw everybody off balance. That's how cryptto works, I don't know if that is how stocks work too. I'm just talking from my cryptto experience & I maybe wrong. Everyone seems to be talking about stocks on social media, even new stocks are doing x3 within days & everyone seems to be a stock expert on social media. I just hope a serious crash doesn't accompany this rise.

@ beeron do u see the forthcoming elections having any negative effect on the stock market?

InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by Bluearrow: 10:40am On May 08
Beeron:
Good morning everyone.

Here is an update regarding your investment in Equity mutual funds.

Some of you might have been experiencing red days lately — the reason is simple, people are now taking profit en mass, So ASI has reached it's peak for now.

Two things might likely happen starting next week:

1 — Green arrow, means a long consolidation starting next week, basically, it means some days your will see profit and some days loss but not huge profit and the loss days will always cancel profits until ASI finds new support and begin a new rally.

2 — Red arrow, means ASI will just suddenly dip, meaning more red days due to institutional money leaving the market. When that happens, other retail investors will also be trimming their profit making ASI go further down until it finds a new support and begins a new rally.

So now what do you do and why am I writing this?

CSblackpink usually talk about top up during red days, Wise idea— but you have to be strategic about doing it, I see people doing it before now, I knew it was too early to do it, but It's not a bad thing, this is why I didn't say anything about it. Sometimes when you top up too early, that money too will also dip, so you will have to continue to buy the dip as it further dips. Not every one can always afford that.

Now what I recommend is simple — Now that it's profit taking season, Also take your profit and move it to mutual fund investment. After ASI has found support to begin a new rally, then you can withdraw your money from mutual fund and buy the new dip. I will also let you all know then when it's safe to buy but it's usually difficult to know when there is long consolidation going on.

But then again, for investors that can afford to keep buying the dip, please continue, because that's another smart strategy because eventually you will regain your losses when ASI begins a new rally.

In summary, this is time for profit taking, take profit, hold It and buy more units after profit taking season is over.

I am in a rush typing this because I need to go for my early morning jug now, when I come back I will answer any question if you have any.
You have been really helpful here
