Politics / Re: Buhari Condemns Killing Of 44 Farmers By Boko Haram In Borno by BlueBanana: 12:09am On Nov 29, 2020
E be like say Buhari surname na Condemn. Condemn condemn Condemn, yet no actions.

Over 40 farmers killed in the most gruesome manner, in an established state like Nigeria in 2020 and the chief security officer comes to "condemn".

Effective proactive measures would have averted this carnage. Don’t condemn, you have don't they enough, swiftly work for justice.

The North is feeling the heat. This should be a warning to everyone in Nigeria about the consequences of voting in someone because he is their "son" or "brother"

They are not exactly the same thing. If you are looking at career growth you should transit from DM to PM.

There are a few places you can get your Product Marketing course done. Product School is one of the prestigious and globally recognised institutions offering the course only that it is a bit pricey, about $4k. Coursera, Lynda and Udemy are other platforms offering some semblance of the course. You can check them out.

It didn't take me long to notice this. Also job opportunities are lower in DM, and creating blog posts and managing social media accounts for brands wasn't my forte.
Thanks for your reply

Can you give me names of good courses from cousera, Lynda and udemy that i can take, searching through the site is overwhelming and I don't want to waste my money

Another question boss, if you don't mind. In LinkedIn in for example, there are alot of jobs for PMs but they are from very prestigious companies. Is there any chance that I can get a job upon the completion of the course.

Also, do you work for a foreign or Nigerian company (if Nigerian, is the job remote or physical)

Politics / How Wike's Declaration, Puts His Presidential Ambition In Jeopardy by BlueBanana: 9:36pm On Nov 18, 2020
Good evening guys. I will like share here my thoughts on the political power play and how Nyesom Wike absolving himself from the Igbo puts his political ambition in jeopardy

I'm not the one to make threads or engage in the political back and forths here especially in this forum as it is sullied with tribalism and ethno religious jingoism. However, I couldn't help but make a thread on this interesting topic.

Okay here it goes, so we all know Nyesom Wike has been hinting on contesting for the presidential election in 2023 under the umbrella of the Umbrella party( PDP).

And we also know how The Ohaneze Ndi Igbo under the leadership of James Nwobodo has been clamouring and insisting on IGBO presidency

Also, During the South East Leaders' Meetingwhich was telecasted on TVC, on the way forward after the #EndSARS protests and the massacre on Obigbo . James Nwobodo who was there representing the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, drummed support for Wike towards the end of the meeting with a jingle " Wike k'anyi ga eso, Wike k'anyi ga eso, ma o na eje eje ma o na ala ala Wike k'anyi ga eso" translating to Wike we will follow, Wike we will follow, whether he's going forward or backward, Wike we will follow" With this, it was clear to all that Nwobodo and the Ohaneze are in support of Wike as President.

Well here are the connecting dots that I want to bring to limelight. This is the part where things get messy for . Wike has publicly stated that he's not Igbo, after widespread rumours of him being an Igbo who changed his name to absolve himself from the Tribe.

This may look like a little thing but this puts Wike's relationship with Ohaneze in jeopardy as The Ohaneze can no longer support him because Ohaneze is advocating for Igbo presidency and since Wike isn't Igbo he won't receive the support of Ohaneze and other Igbo groups who champion the same dreams as Ohaneze ( An Igbo Presidency)

Ohaneze currently has no option but to declare their support for Umahi has he's the only Igbo that has shown interest in being President

Yeah, so here it is my observation of what's been going on on our political universe.

Note: I'm not in any way saying Wike is Igbo, I know he's Ikwerre. I'm just analysing the effect of his declaration on his Presidential Ambition
Nairaland / General / Mods, What Are You Guys Doing About This? by BlueBanana: 2:03pm On Nov 17, 2020
Someone is working hard and I mean really working hard to gain the login details of users on this platform. I don't know how the person does or why but I this is a breach of security and privacy of the members of this forum.

This individual has been sending popups asking me to input my login details before I can VIEW a post( see attached screenshot) and I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this

I want to call on the mods and the supermods of this forum to find a way to stop this unscrupulous individual(s)

Seun, Mynd44, Lalasticlala, Dominique and all the mods, I call on you guys to do something about this immediately before alot of people are affected

At least on 3 different occasions, I have landed jobs with multinationals and bluechip organisations all from Linkedin.

Hardly will a month pass that I won't have recruiters both inside and outside the country poaching me for jobs.

I currently have 2 interviews scheduled with multinational companies that poached me via LinkedIn. Mind you, these are not even jobs I applied for.

Please take LinkedIn seriously if you are a job seeker or mid-level executive looking for better opportunities.

Connect with relevant professionals, use the right keywords, and share valuable content as often as you can.
Pls sir, what services do you offer?

International Standards my foot. Can the students compete in the international market?

The sites are horrible. Honestly, those students need a refund.

If these ones are the best students, I wonder how the average students' sites will look like grin grin grin

Ofen times I hear people say that LinkedIn is one of the best places to land a job especially for people in the tech industry.

However, I have never heard of Nairalanders landing jobs through LinkedIn. So I will like to ask, has anyone gotten a job through LinkedIn?. Also, share your job hunting experience on the platform

One of the best places to look for jobs most especially Tech Jobs is undoubtedly LinkedIn, there are many opportunities posted daily on LinkedIn.

I haven't gotten a job via the platform but have gotten an interview sha.

There are few tech jobs in Nigeria, 99% of dev jobs I've came across on LinkedIn were all foreign jobs
Thanks for this. I plan to join the platform once I hone my skills as a digital marketer. Thanks for the encouraging comment

tensazangetsu20:

Both hard o. With remote jobs just expect to be applying to at least 10 jobs a day you might get one before the end of six months sha. It's not easy especially in marketing. Upwork needs money. When you join you are given 60 connects which can only let you apply to like 10 jobs after that you need to buy connects. I always advise people to keep between 50 to 100k to get started on Upwork. Some people are lucky to get a full time hourly job in their first try but that won't happen to everyone.
Jeez. I used to think getting an intern job would be easier.

tensazangetsu20:

It's not easy bros you go apply tire. There's marketing jobs on remote sites but not easy to get.
Yes I know, and I don't expect it to be easy but I think it's easier getting a remote job as a paid intern than freelancing on upwork. What do you think?

Software development. Dude was lucky to get a full time job paying 25 dollars per hour. Not everyone has that kind luck beginning.

Wow. That's a lot of money. Good luck to him.
I am currently learning digital marketing I don't want to work as a freelancer at Upwork rather I intend to work remotely as a paid intern for companies abroad. What do you suggest, is it advisable?
Politics / Re: Why Are Older Nigerians So Unfortunate? by BlueBanana: 8:47am On Oct 17, 2020
tensazangetsu20:

I work on Upwork and I receive payment directly to my Nigerian bank account. Directly. I just click on the get paid button and the money comes straight to my account here in Nigeria. Ask any Nigerian who works on Upwork. I use a Nigerian IP. Getting customers is difficult Nigerian or not. The freelance market sells based on trust so for a newbie it's tough but once you can get intiial reviews that show you do good work, you easily get clients. There are Nigerians who have made over 100k dollars on Upwork. A Nigerian I know joined Upwork in may. He has already made over 10000 dollars. E dey.
I'm curious, What does he do?

I always tell people that Gabriel Jesus is an average striker they will start making baseless arguments. The hype on that guy is something else when compared to real strikers like aguero,Lewandowski,Rooney (then),Diego Costa etc.

Jesus is average and only good at scoring cheap goals.
And you didn't include Ronaldo in your list of "real strikers". You dey ment
