But why are African leaders very greedy and selfish and power hungry . Someone should please carry out an investigation on this. From Uganda to Zimbabwe to Malawi to Mali to Cameroon to Angola and now this.

B3ACHSIDE:
I think they should practice Social Democracy (70 percent socialism/30 percent capitalism), just demolish everything and build mass housing and house the people for free . Just one or two cities where everyone can live. The city china built at Angola cost $3 billion dollars , took 2 years to complete ,with capacity of at least 800,000 residents . Nigeria and other African countries should emulate that method . You do not need the tallest skyscrapers to build an organized and lawful society.

AAinEqGuinea What do you think?

Have you ever asked yourself, what China aims to gain with these "free" gifts.
The Chinese infiltration into Africa should never be encouraged.

And By the Way. Nigerians do not need these housing. What we need urgently and speedily are Electricity ( up to 150,000MW) which can be achieved through Hydropower and Solar power in the South and North respectively.

Transportation (major cargo railways connecting PH to Onitsha, Opening of Onne Port in Portharcourt, quality road connecting Enugu to Aba and Onitsha, Railway from Lagos to Ibadan, quality road from Lagos ports to big markets such as tradefair, computer village, Alaba, Ladipo etc. Roads from Lagos to Sagamu)

Security against Herdsmen so our people can go back to farms

With this, Nigeria will experience rapid industrialization never seen before

inbox me let's have a chat this my mail patrioticnigerians7@gmail.com
Thanks. Will do that when I'm back.

I think this will be achievable, if Nigerians organise various protests at their different states for their lawmakers to put these things into law. If they don't, we threaten Recall.

I know it won't be easy and na Naija we dey but that's the simplest way. Going to Social media to trend hashtags or protesting at Aso rock will be a futile effort.
Politics / Re: Nigerian's Is Time To Act by BlueBanana: 2:38pm On Jul 15, 2020
Having critically studied the Nigerian Situation, these are my solutions to the problems plaguing Nigeria:

1) Nigeria should be restructured, so each state will control its resources as well as revenue. This will ensure that the semi- autonomy states grow at the pace

2) The building and maintenance of airports, seaports and even USB ports should be in the concurrent list

3) The Base salary of every member of House of Representatives should be the Minimum wage multiplied by 10, while the base salary of every senator should be Minimum wage multiplied by 13

4) Lawmakers should NOT be allowed to deliver projects awarded to their constituency. Rather a construction company such as Julius Berger will be take over the construction of the projects.

5) States should have the power to engage in any interstate infrastructure

6) Electricity generation, transmission and distribution should be the responsibility of state governments

7) Building and maintenance of Railways should be entrusted in the hands of state governments

8. ) Each state should have a state police which will safeguard lives and properties in the state

9) States should map out at least 850 hectares which will be dedicated to building Industrial Estates. These estates will have a power plant( preferably renewable) which will power the estate. Also, there will be roads connecting the industrial estates to markets and cities

10) To curb electoral malpractice and electoral violence and ballot box snatching, Register voters will vote through thumb printing, it will be done in such a way that once one thumb prints in a monitor with the various logos and acronyms of political parties, the person votes and it is quickly taken to a secure server. This will prevent snatching of ballot boxes or papers

11) SARS should be scrapped and former SARS personnel's should be asked to either the Army or retire.

You are probably one of those who don’t care about this country, and also making money off this bad and failed Government. wake up... bandicts are closer, herdsmen are closer, bokoharam are killing our Young soldiers. We are suppose to join hands to fight this battle and not disunite.
I do not in anyway, whether directly or indirectly benefit from this government or the administrations past.

I am 100% in for a revolution as it is overdue, but a revolution is as important as who leads the revolution.

I have serious a serious problem with Sowore, the man who calls for the revolution.

Lest I forget, Sowore is a bastard and a schemer.

Avoid him!!!

Politics / What Is The Way Forward For Nigeria? by BlueBanana: 12:53pm On Jul 11, 2020
Good day all.

I'm sure we all are all aware of the gross mismanagement of resources and corruption going on this country by our public officials. This thread is not a pity party or an opportunity to curse our leaders, but an avenue for us all to come together and think of a way forward for Nigeria.

I hereby call on all Nigerians from all parts of the country to come together let's think of solutions to the problems Nigeria is facing such as Unemployment, epileptic electricity, Corruption, Insecurity, accountability in governance, infrastructural development and how well meaning individuals can strategically take power from our visionless leaders and bring about the much needed and desired transformational change which we all desire.

This thread is aimed to facilitate the sharing of thought, concerns, ideas and provision of solutions to the problems that plague Nigeria

I declare this Thread open

A revolution is overdue , but do Nigerians have the balls?
It's not about having the balls but having enough sense to see that the the political leaders they painstakingly defend are their oppressors. As derogatory as it may sound, most Nigerians are senseless.

The politics section of this forum is a good example of such senselessness where people would rather engage in pointless arguments about tribes and political parties than plan on how they can strategically seize power from these corrupt leaders to make their country a better place . Meanwhile the people they put in government continue to plunder their commonwealth. It's truly disheartening.

BTW, I enjoy your threads. Educative and inspiring

Although the Nairaland politics section doesn't necessarily reflect the public opinion of most Nigerians, this poll is still going to go a long way in giving us an idea of what the common man in the Nigerian society today desires for his country in terms of the governmental structure of the country and how Government is run. It will also show which political struggle/agitation is gaining momentum and which one isn't.

Without further ado, scroll down this page, find the political struggle you identify with or support, and like it to vote.

Who's in??

Poll ends this time tomorrow.

Can mods move this to FP? The poll is just for fun anyway

Good one op. However I think the best way to completely end Internet fraud in Nigeria is to set up a highly effective and broad database that will track all financial activities going on in the country.
This will ensure that once a financial crime occurs, the law enforcement agencies will have all the needed information to track and arrest the suspect(s)

Also, People convicted of internet fraud should face five years imprisonment which may be reduced to nine months depending on their level of cooperation with the police in releasing the name of their accomplices.

Today the Igbos blame Azikiwe on his stance for a united Nigeria. Years back it was profitable to the Igbos because of the sheer size of Nigeria. The size of Nigeria transcends to a very big market. Zik knew fragmenting Nigeria will do the Igbo man no good. With a united Nigeria or even Africa, Igbo man would not be treated as a foreigner anywhere he may find himself. He is enterprising. He is not afraid of competition. He would not pay tax as a foreigner.
By then everything was in their favour until those gun throttling drunken military officers toppled the apple cart in 1966. At this point they need not to back out. It is time to look inward. Pick up their broken piece and build something out of it. Form alliance across the length and breadth of the country especially West and Middle Belt. This is not to say they cant find an inroad into NorthWest and NorthEast. Gain the confidence of the SouthSouth.
There is no pretense, the country looks up to the East for solution. The fear of many is that of secession.
Igbos have future in a united Nigeria than in parcellation of the country.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS

You have valid points, infact regional Government will be of more benefit to Ndi Igbo because of huge market potentials but the problem is the sincerity of the North and West to yeild to regional Government not after they have tested the wealth from the South. So it is a game push harder for recession and when the heat burns overwhelmingly then a deal for regional Government might be struck
Thank you

I know it won't be easy but can and will be achieved through a collective and resolute demand by the entire South. The North won't be able to say no if the entire South can unite and champion for this agenda. Come to think of it, it is only the North that benefits from the division in The South!
