safarigirl: this myth was dispelled for me a few years ago.
I have seen mad people inside husband house, no even go there. Those nice guys that everyone thinks will make their wives happy, na them dey marry crase women.
I saw real life representation that disrespectful women get married to good men, no reason am. Since that experience, whenever someone says that marriage is not a reward for good behavior, I dey believe them.
Thanks for your wise words. Yes. thinking about it now, you're right. However, I feel that craze may not sustain the marriage. They would have to calm down |

Please, I want you all to know that I am in no way supportive of men that don't assist their wives in housework when the situation calls for it. And I am in no way implying that marriage shouldn't be a teamwork between man and wife. All I am saying is that some women need to learn to be humble and respectful. It will solve many of their problems in marriage without need for Shiloh 2020. |

Although this is a football thread, I must admit that I have learnt a lot about culture and feminism from the respectful (a bit) exchanges between monickers here. Keep up the good work.
I still don't subscribe to the idea of calling unmarried females in their late 20's or early 30's evening newspaper. Its a negative word. A lot of factors could be responsible for late marriages. It could be sickness, late education or even personal choice and not necessarily because the said person wasn't a suitable husband or wife.
However, I must also add that the bad attitude of some females may be responsible for their late marriages. Some are very uncouth and bad-mannered. They may also have a fantastical idea of the kind of suitor they want (tall, well chiselled abs, very rich and handsome like adonis). Very few African men meet these criteria. Also, it doesn't matter how beautiful you are or how many degrees or cars you have, a disrespectful AFRICAN lady will lack good suitors. You attract people of similar behaviours to you.

iSlayer: All these you're saying is just a consequence of Westernization and growing Eurocentrism. This thing you're saying is not US. I can say it's not African. And definitely it's not the Igbo life chaachaa. A woman can climb to the highest level and yet be a true AFRICAN mother. They are numerous who have achieved it. This ploy to do away with the family or to reduce it's significance among Africans is not good. Ezekwesili once gave a talk about how she still cooks for her husband till date. I marvelled at that. The Question I have always had is this; Why does NFF habitually owe salaries of National Team Coaches?
It seems to have become the norm? Is it that the Sports Ministry doesn't release these monies on time?
Or are there some vile and hellish creatures sitting on it?
In saner climes, sports administrators are sacked for this. We want to be soccer giants yet we can't seem to get the little things right.
God, we are in trouble in this country ooo. What manner of nonsense is this? |

charlesemeka85: the man have the belief that he will rule Africa and shock the world in no distant time with his young team, the signs are obvious.
no sane coach would want to leave a team he nurtured from scratch to become one of the most improved team in African football in the past 3 years now. his job also is made easier with the emerging talents in his possession which is the luxury any coach will love to have.
rohr truly loves his team which is emerging as a power house once again in african football We talk and talk and talk here but none of our talks gets to the NFF or sports minister We ought to find a way to make our feelings about Rohr get to the NFF I want Rohr to continue with his Job and so do the majority of us here. If only there was a way to get NFF to understand that they need top pay him his salaries and free him to work the way he thinks is best. There is no point foisting their ideologies on the man. |

tbaba1234: Nigeria was 63rd in the world and 10th in Africa when Rohr was hired.
Nigeria is now 31st in the world and 3rd in Africa. We would be higher if Imama could coach.
Nigeria had failed to qualify for 2 AFCONs back to back.
We are now qualifying for tournaments with ease.
Westerhof became Nigeria's coach in 1989, his first trophy was in 1994 and he inherited a team that had just won the AFCON silver in 1988.
Rohr's side is starting to peak. The team is only Nigerian team on the rise. Let us not destroy the momentum. We saw how other national teams performed this year. Gbam. If only we could get this to the ears of the Sport's minister or NFF technical committee Letting Rohr go means we would start from square one |
