I spoke with an acquaintance who works with Lagos state civil service earlier today and he was lamenting bitterly about the cash scarcity and how he doesn't even have much in the bank sef. Then he mentioned that they have it on good authority that Sanwoolu has already confirmed salaries will only be paid after the election ( personally I don't feel it's an issue considering that most Lagos state staff get paid around 24-27th of the month so it's no biggie of they get paid on the 27th which is the Monday after election)

Then he mentioned the fact that he was at the hospital recently under the HMO Lagos state has for its staff and he was denied medical care by the hospital. Why? The hospital claimed the state government has not paid to the HMO's so they wouldn't be able to claim from them in the time being for any medical care given to the staff of Lagos state Govt.

I understand the fact that the state government may have had a lot of cash gone into the rushed projects commissioned in the past few months, but then they should at least keep.something for the healthcare of their workforce o.

In private sector when u see an organization not paying much attention u can always jump ship on to the next best company ; but it's not that easy in the public sector. You just have to endure all the suffering till u become a senior civil servant and u begin acting like Ur bosses u once de tested. Such things breed bad and corrupt civil service in the long run.

All I know is a bank staff has to be extremely follish to see a circular with CBN staying things clearly only for him to do the opposite. Maybe u've been gone too long and u don't understand how things work between market players and their regulators in Nigeria.

The HOP of a branch in PH collected 2.5m old notes. I have no idea what he was thinking. The Zonal office of his bank has refused to evacuate it from the branch because they can't take it to the CBN.

The management will fear Dapo may revoke their C of O if they don't collect old notes, but they also know collecting old notes translates to a loss to them cos CBN won't take it off them. The wise decision na to shut down and claim no money at all.

The best thing na to obey o. The bank manager actually handled himself well sha . He first talked about how they’ve been consistently loading ATM’s with cash and people withdrawing thereby painting his organization well.

When u put a branch manager whose branch has been loading money in their ATM machines on the spot like this ; it will only reult to one thing. The bank will most likely not open that branch to customers for a long time till all these all issue is sorted out.

The people in that area will find it difficult to access cash going forward cos the bank will not accept old notes based on CBN’s directive , and the people will want to ride on Dapo’s political speech . To be safe, the bank will not open to customers to avoid people vandalizing their assets.

Most people in Lagos will even kill to have such guy in their area o cos most POS operators are only giving out old notes which people are not accepting on the street.

Maybe my initial post didn't convey what I mean accurately.I replied to a post saying who was Rufai to be disregarding a presidential broadcast. What I was trying to say is that the supreme court gave an order that all naira notes should remain legal tender pending the February 20 when it will hear the case. So the governors are acting within the ambit of the law. It's Buhari who is going against the supreme court order for his own personal vendetta or agenda . Buhari is the one acting against the law here not the governors.

Unfortunately Buhari has been disobeying court order for this long. His DSS and EFCC even raided the apartment of judges with impunity. He even uninstalled a sitting CJN Onnoghen. Anybody expecting Buhari to become chameleon and change his color are having a hopeless hope.

Cbn is still an agency of the federal government. The parties that went to the supreme Court believes that a provision of the constitution has been breached by the federal government and it's left for the supreme court to decide if it's true or not. Buhari is the one not obeying the supreme court order here not Rufai.

So it's best to say u don't the section of the constitution Buhari breached in this monetary palava cos I don't see u mention any section in this post?

The supreme court knows that's why they suspended his order. If he didn't do anything that goes against the constitution the order wouldn't have been suspended.

What Supreme court did was to issue a restraining order to all parties pending when the matter will be heard. for now the past two sittings of the court has only been about the initial 3 governors instituting a suit in a court they believe had jurisdiction(But the AGF and the FG by extension believes do not have jurisdiction).

The CBN is governed by the CBN act as of today and by the power of that act they've instructed banks not to receive old N1000 and N500 notes. Whether Supreme court will decide in favor of CBN/FG or the Governors remains to be seen . For now the nation is on autopilot.

This is note even about what is happening now; It's about what has happened in the past. A whole lot of shiiiits has happened in this country and some of us who complained about it were called wailers. The people u see attacking Buhari's faction of APC today will go to any length to compare apples to arranges. They will be bringing examples that don't make sense to justify Buhari's actions and inactions.

I pointed out a post here few days ago in which Femi Adeshina told a citizen who called-in to the programme that he was sounding like a broken record. He further said people think because they voted or didn't vote in Buhari they can order him around. Like he normalized the idea of I DONT GIVE A F*CK attitude of the president in a democarcy. No party faithful called Buahri out for that.

The old note has lost it value according to Buhari, meaning that the #22billion that a Northern Governor stashed in his house has lost value. So for him and others not to be #22billion poorer, they need to take the money to CBN. And since they cannot deposit #22billion at once or in person, they would use proxies to help them deposit it in bits. I believe this polithiefcians already have loads of the new notes at home, Emefiele also confirmed this in his recent address....
