Chapter 15
Blossom was sad. How could she be rejected by a guy she liked so much. Was it her fault that she had money or that her parents were wealthy? She thought. She remembered how she cried herself to sleep that night promising herself to forget about him. It worked for the first few hours of the next day but after sometime she started thinking about him again.

Later in the evening her two friends came to visit her and keep her company. "I cant still believe that he told you no" Vera said after Blossom explained everything to them. "That poor fool, why are you still thinking about him? When you have Pablo all to yourself". "Vera, not everyone would be like you, you should learn to respect people's decisions" the third girl spoke up. "He may have his reasons for not wanting to be with Blossom, do you know how bad it is for a girl to be the breadwinner? "I have an uncle who was also in the same situation and now he is always trying to live up to expectations, borrowing this and that everytime. Please let the poor boy be". The quiet girl said. "Ify, that is why I like you, you are so quiet but when you talk, you talk sense, not like some girls I know (Blossom looks at Vera). "It is me you are yabbing abi? No P na, we go see. There is one new club at the island that I've been wanting us to check out, we can go tonight' Vera said. "Hope it has a nice cachet? Ify asked. "I no know wetin be cachet, but I sha know say the club na confirm club. Vera said. "So what do you say Blossom? Are you in or out? "Just give me time let me get ready and also make sure my siblings are asleep". Blossom said and went out of the room.
After a while they all entered Blossom's range rover and drove to the club.

Tope was nervous. He could feel his hands and legs shaking. This was the first time that he would be performing to a large crowd that was not his church members. He had heard that a new club opened at the Island so he did not waste time in going to meet the owner begging for a chance to be a regular performer in the club. After much pleading and auditions, he was accepted but he was going to be tested today. The crowd in the club were not less than 160 people. The song he was going to sing was Mama by kiss daniel, though he has rehearsed it with the club band like a million times, he was still afraid that something might go wrong.

"Ok, ok, ok, we have a new act in the building" the Mc's voice boomed from the speakers. "give it up for "T-Strings". The crowd cheered. Tope walked to the stage checking everything, making sure that it was in place, drums> check, background singers> check, keyboardist> check, bass gui...., wait, he closed his eyes and opened it wanting to be sure he was seeing well, sitting at the front area was Blossom, Vera and one girl he didn't know. "Why where they here? He tried to read Blossoms expression but she avoided his eyes. Anyways, he has to continue, the show must go on. He introduced himself and was about to start when he heard a loud sound "gbooaa". He turned and saw smoke coming out of the speakers, the sound engineers were running here and there, the crowd were streching their necks to catch a better glimpse of what was going on. "chai, what is this now" he though as his heart started beating fast, one of the sound engineer's ran to him and told him " Guy our speakers don burn o, na only one still dey work o, and e no fit carry any instrument o, you gats improvise'' he said and went back. Tope looked at the crowd and saw that few of them were feeling bored and most of them were frowning and that was when he knew that he was finished...
