Politics / Re: Is President Tinubu Taking The Boldest Political Decisions? by Bluffly: 7:10am On Feb 27
He should take hard decisions to run a lean government and not just to tell Nigerians to manage first. The government too should manage by drastically reducing cost of governance thereby reducing government charges on doing business

Initial gra'gra no pay.

Tinubu is not a sensible person. He speaks and acts before using his brains.

That was how he started without thinking.

Without thinking you removed subsidies. Without thinking you float Naira.
Without thinking you suspend Niger, Mali and Burkina-Faso.

Now everything went south, it is now Tinubu starts thinking.
At least make an attempt to be in his shoes before shouting initial gragra up and down

This is why patriotism is low amongst Nigerians. After giving the country all the productive years of one's life, that's how they are repaid

Protesters arrested instead of attending to the root course of their agitation, the best solution is to shut them up
It is still the same Nigerians that are his colleagues either senior or junior that caused most if his predicament and likewise the denial of his gratuity payment. Nigerians doing themselves and yet accusing themselves of doing themselves.

Crime / Re: Trader Shot Dead In Anambra Market by Bluffly: 3:40am On Feb 20

If you think state police will be panacea to the current state of insecurity in Nigeria, you should have a rethink. Instead of state police being the solution, it will rather worsen it, there will be abuses by state police officers, citizens will be harrased, more rights abuses, collision with criminals and proliferation of weapons. Imagine state police operatives being owed salaries and turning rogues. The lasting solution to insecurity is good governance
State policing is not the issue. All you have said is also happening now with just federal police. Personnel's needs to be properly trained, educated and enlightened, though I understand that employment promises will engage political thugs as well. But there will always be a way around it.
Crime / Re: Trader Shot Dead In Anambra Market by Bluffly: 3:36am On Feb 20
I keep saying it. What is happening is due to underdeveloped humans over time. Handling gun to people who do not even appreciate humanity, people that think law enforcement is about bragging and dehumanization, people who do not understand what terms of engagement means. I weep for Nigeria

Car Talk / Re: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by Bluffly: 8:52pm On Feb 16
Missowombo:
Dear Family landers. I am here to seek your advice on how to rescue my car from my neighbour.

I bought a car, direct from abroad, a very clean and sweet ride, and registered in September, 2023 (5months ago). However, due to the high fuel consumption( V6, 3.5l engine) and the ever unstable fuel price today, I decided to put it up for sale to get a smaller engine capacity. A neighbour expressed interest in buying the car and decided to pay in installment which I agreed. I was also searching for a replacement at this time hoping to use the money realized from the sales to get my preferred ride. My preferred ride prices were shockingly high such that even if I doubled the price I gave to my neighbour it will still not be enough to buy the new ride. Prices rise by the hour these days in Nigeria and I have no hand in this crisis. I returned to my neighbour to inform him that I will not be selling the car anymore due to the present crises in prices of goods in the country. I apologized profusely for every inconvenience and transferred his money back to him. He got angry and said that I must submit the car key and documents to him. He even threatened to send his community and area boys to beat me up and extract the above items.

I came back from work to see my car jacked up, surrounded by 2 other vehicles to prevent the car's exit. For the records, there is no written or signed agreement between him and I concerning this sale. I refunded all his money 1 day after he paid his last installment and kept back my car. I have no hand in Nigeria's current problems. I am pushed to use force here but I am thinking that some initial peaceful resolution could be an option.
Can you here yourself. You refunded after he paid the last installment. How many installment did he pay and over what duration?

Business / Re: What exactly Is The Benefit Of Floating The Naira? by Bluffly: 9:02am On Feb 14
GBP is floated, USA is Floated, Euro is floated, Qatar pegged for a long time and floated from 2017. Pegged system gives room to economic stability and avoid volatility, Floating reflects the market activities and can only be stabilised through sustained trade balancing where export is either equal to import or higher than import.
The higher the demand for Naira the more it appreciates in value. So what are we exporting but we must first ensure that local consumption is met

As long as you continue to pay police men peanuts, nobody should expect the best from them. The minimum wage of police men should be N200k. When you pay people a living wage, many will be content with what they have.

The Chinese are here to grab and leech on our resources again.

I hope there will be stringent regulations to protect the environment and also prevent them from fleecing the state and country of our dues.

Government should follow up on the agreement with them setting up a battery manufacturing plant in proximity to this processing/extracting plant
Please note that foreigners can't fleece us without a Nigerian collaborating partner that is still part of our government
