I have heard and read about people wanting to travel abroad to work to earn dollar. Some of those who succeed eventually complain about the very high standard of living which leave them with no savings. Most Nigerians abroad do menial jobs that they cant do at home!
There is rumour that Donald Trump want t send Nigerians in the US away if he becomes the president. But really are Nigerians doing well in the US compared with if they stayed in Nigeria and work the way they work in the US?
There is no definite answer to your question. Every one will say what is relative to their experience and what they have heard people say. So no true answer at all to what you are asking us.

Webmasters11 Mistakes You Must Avoid When Building Your Website by BLWeb(op): 8:14am On Jan 25, 2016
Many of us are guilty of one or two points in the list below when we first started out building our sites. Many of us still flout these standard tips. This is why we present to you 11 mistakes you must avoid in order to build and develop a great site
When you are getting ready to build that brand new website for your business, you should be aware of some standards you need to follow to bring out the best design for your website. The importance of having a website to showcase your products and services cannot be underrated because that is your 'Virtual office' for your potential clients and regular customers to have a business relationship with you.

A poorly designed website can be a great turnoff and when visitors start leaving your site because of poor and bad design, then you are bound to lose some money and some patronage. How do you stop this from happening? By following the solid 11 points below that will help you in bringing out a great website design.

1. Graphic Laden.

A web page should load in a reasonable amount of time. If you use too many graphics, or graphics that are not scaled and saved in the most efficient format, your pages will take longer to load. Impatient users may bail out and go to another site. Clean and fast should be the goal. You can usually make a very nice layout using HTML and CSS without the whole page being a sliced up graphic.

2. Color Choices.

Just because it looks cool to you doesn't mean everyone will find it easy to read and appreciate your psychedelic color scheme. Try out your color choices on a mix of people before you get too far into your design.

Don't turn people away just because they have trouble reading your site. There are colors for backgrounds and text that perform much better than others colors for some types of sites, do your research first!

3. Animated Graphics.

You want your visitors to concentrate on whatever your site is about. If your pages look like the arcade at an amusement park with animated gifs everywhere they may never get to the part of the site that you want them to, such as the "buy" button. A little animation goes a long way.

4. Flash Splash Screens.

Flash is big these days and very useful for a lot of tasks, however, one thing you should avoid is a big flash welcome page as the default page of your web site. Most people find it very annoying to sit through it, or to have to click a skip button.

5. Cross Browser Compatible Issues.

Always check out your site on the main browsers (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Opera) a PC and Mac if possible. You'd be surprised how each web browser has its quirks. Sometimes a page will look really bad or completely wrong in one browser and you'll have to spend time correcting the problem. But, you won't know unless you test it... don't rely on your visitors to tell you.

6. Broken Links.

This one should be obvious, check you site's navigation and all the links occasionally. There are some tools available to do this for you if you have a really large site.

7. Disjointed Layout.

Make sure your site is easy to navigate. Have someone who's not familiar with your site use your site. Ask them to purchase something, or find the page for sending in questions, etc. Watch them as they work. Listen to what they have to say and fix your site to make it work better.

8. Incomplete Contact Information.

Keep the contact information on your site is current and complete. Do this as soon as anything changes.

9. Text in Graphics to Make "Pretty Text" vs. Real Text.

Font styles are somewhat limited for web pages. Some people want their site to look really good with fonts like you can use in word processing packages. So how do you do that? You can make it in Adobe PhotoShop or another graphic package and save out your text as images. This works really well as far as looking good, however, because images are naturally larger than text, the pages will load slower. But, the biggest drawback is not size, it's that you have your text, which tells what your site is about, locked up in images. It's not accessible to search engines that crawl web sites.

What does that mean? It means that if you're relying on traffic to your site from search engines, you want real text, not images of text that only humans can read. If your site is not dependent on search engine traffic, then this may not matter other than the slower load time for the image laden pages.

10. Using Something Just To Be Using It.

Don't use flash, or background sounds, or videos that automatically load and start playing, or JavaScript that opens 900 windows. Only use those things when they are necessary, don't use them just because you may know how and want to show off.

11. Not Updating the Site.

As things change you should modify your site to reflect those changes. As you add new products or announce new products, you should add them to your site. As people change in your organization, you should update your site.

Put a blog on your site and update it every day or so. Your web site can be a tremendous asset in your marketing toolkit, but only if it's kept current and fresh.

Use this list of items to make your web site better and more enjoyable for your visitors.

BusinessRe: How To Make Money Online Doing A Simple Task by BLWeb: 9:02pm On Jan 24, 2016
I commend the effort of francababy. This will be a good business model if you want to invest in it big time, buy computers and set up an office just like one of the member here stated.

But is it a good business model for you looking for a GOOD way to earn monthly income without the huge investment? How long will it even take you to earn $100 in a month considering the factors you will face and all that life circumstances. Will it teach you a skill that you can transfer or one you can make good money with by winning contracts from businesses?

Though it sounds alluring, but think twice before you dive into it and then you start wishing you would have put your time into developing a skill and establishing a business on that skill than earning $1 on doing something after 1,000 times! Then whats the difference between this and a online survey business and the p.t.c stuff?

How about email?
If You seriously want to make money that will launch You into your Business FULL-TIME then you need to learn a skill.
Importation will not cut it because in the long run you are still going to continue finding something else to make money with.
Instead of running from one post to another why don't you learn RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGNING and position yourself for the myriads of small business just waiting to get on the web?

When you learn how to design responsive websites, you have already created a job opportunity for yourself, because you already have serious businesses that either needs a new website set-up or redesigning their crappy website to become responsive.

What is responsive website design if you must ask? It is the designing of websites that can conform to all latest devices screen sizes and can transform its design to fit any platform it's been accessed from. The benefit is this is that you have a wide access to potential customers on all devices that is including desktops, ipad, and smart phones even smart watch etc

We have created an easy way for you to acquire this skill. Trust me, it doesnt have to do with writing codes, or trying to learn the nitty gritty of HTML and CSS. You are learning how to be a designer and not a programmer.

Lastly, you are not just going to get the skill and be left dry and hanging, You will also be taught on how to get clients, how to sell your services to them with your well crafted proposals, how to set up your web design agency, and the aspects of business development when it comes to Web Designing.

You will also know about Social Media Management which can be a very effective strategy to pull in these businesses because your clients would also want to know what benefits your work is going to bring them. So showing them that even with a great website, without getting clients using social media or without improving their brand on social media, their business is as good as dead.

This is just a tip of the iceberg. So instead of looking for that one-time opportunity because you are broke, why don't you consider our Web-Design + Social Media Management Training and set off to start a company you will be proud of tomorrow.

You can call 07052463115 and i'll consult with you for free.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why Entrepreneurship Is Not The Solution To Unemployment In Nigeria by BLWeb:
Charism:
Entrepreneurship seems to be the order of the day today, the press glorifies it, government officials put lots of emphasis on it as the only way out of poverty, its even a compulsory course for all university students. NYSC is all about it, from your afternoon lectures in camp, to your SAEED. But is it really worth it? Are they telling us the truth, or is it mere propaganda by politicians to give excuses for their failure?
Daily we are bombarded by happy ending stories of people who made it by starting up their business, we are told to emulate the likes of Dangote, Otedola, mike Adenuga. But the bitter truth is that not everyone will make it like Dangote. As a matter of fact the chances of Success is Very rare.
People who make it are the lucky ones, lucky in the sense that the have opportunities that others never had or will never have which they harnessed to their advantage.
Opportunities like capital, good location, skills, business climate, experience e.t.c. These variable are not things you have control over. Take for example Dangote started his business with just #500,000 (a huge amount of money during the 70's) given to him by his uncle Dantata (one of the richest men in nigeria at that time) who also groomed him in the tricks of business management. There are many people who have beautiful business plans out there, but no capital to fund them. Even when the capital is available, you don't any experience about the business climate of the business you are venturing into, its like a blind man crossing the highway unaided.
The truth of the matter is that not everyone is meant to be entreperneurs, if you believe in the determination, nothing-can-stop-me mantra, you might probably end up with a small food-stuff shop/kiosk business, or like the road side akara seller whose income would not be enough for you to start a family. If it were that easy, then our proffesors of business administration in our universitys, would have been top business moguls by now.
Truth be told, our politicians need to sit up! And make economic policies to would encourage investment and growth. If the economy is favourable, both entrepreneurs and employees, would be better-off.
These are the words of someone who is lazy and expects the government to feed him everything he needs.

One thing i'm sure we all agree is that no society is ideal because people act differently and think in different ways. Also people do also come together to form a common bond to show their ideas in togetherness. Now in your school of thought you are against entrepreneurship and you cast it down like it has not been something that has changed your life.

Take some time to look at how you have lived your life from infancy till now and tell me all the stuffs you have used through out life is from the government. You can't argue it because it is not the government that even made it possible for Seun to set-up nairaland that you are using to spread your discontent.

One thing that has always bugged me though is our lack of innovation by our young entrepreneurs and i think that is what worries you. What we need to do as people is to rearrange our mindset and see how blessed we are as a nation and as africans. All the solid minerals you can think of,all the agricultural resources, good weather, human capacities, we have all, then why are we still poor? The government blame game is so stale now, and not blaming someone like you for shying away from starting your own business will be a crime for me.

So i can feel your frustration friend. Success is not rare, success is relative to how you want to leave your life. Whatsoever a man thinketh that he is. There are small business owners who just want to be content with their income, run their business for as long as they live, take care of their family, stay away from insecurities and just be happy, That is how they view success. While some want to expand, build franchises and employ thousands of people, that is their own view of success. But you saying EVERYONE cannot be like Dangote is true but you are wrong to use it in a demeaning form while disrespecting well-meaning people all over.

Another thing i will need to tell you is that there is nothing like luck in business. I'm very sure you have never started a business before to know that Success is when Opportunity meets Preparation. You must be prepared to face the challenges no matter what and then be prepared to take use of the opportunity. The success you earn is relative to how you prepared and to how best you maximized the opportunity. So talking about luck in entrepreneurship? That is so lame.

I would also like to counsel you too. Failure is not the end of life. Successful people are the ones that learn to FAIL FORWARD. They don't let failures run them down. Don't you know these people you call their names like they are your demi-gods have gone through the most depressing times when they were getting around their business and success was elusive? Nothing was prepared for them on a bed of roses. Oh maybe you haven't heard of another man who collected even N1million from his uncle in the 70's to set up his business but he is a shoemaker today, while the Dangote you hear today thrived on just N500, 000 back then. Maybe you have not read the story of young boys in lagos who started their blogging enterprise with just N10, 000 back in 2005 and today they speak at TEDX. Or simply dont go too far, just talk to Seun and let him school you on how he started.

I believe in the "nothing-can-stop-me mantra" even if you end up selling c.d's at the road side, but the most importatnt thing that you should never forget is not to give up on your thinking, and who you are and what you want to become. If you continually strive at it while keeping your goals and dreams intact, you will definitely make it no matter what this OP's definition of success is. Abi nor be don jazzy be bus conductor for lagos before?

And lastly for entrepreneurs, i know the times are hard and you need money to make things work. But don't let the hesitation and frustration make you start a business you have no passion in. It is small business owners who did stuff with no passion and ended up messing everything that may have made this op to come out with an attack on people who are desiring to effect a change. Understand that it is passion before profit, but if you have side business giving you some funding, don't stay too long there - get some little funds no matter how little and dive into your PASSION and God will make it a success for you.
CareerTo Unemployed Graduates; What are You doing to Change Your Situation? by BLWeb(op): 8:17am On Jan 22, 2016
What are you doing to change your position friends?

If you are currently unemployed searching for a job, what will you do when the job is not forthcoming? what are you doing now to change your levels? The painful truth is that you may not get employed this year, that may be the reality. But you could say "It's not my portion", also millions of unemployed people reading this will say the same thing with you, but will all get employed at the same time? and even when the opportunity comes will all get it together? No. Only a few percentage of you all will cross through.

Now many world business leaders are crying recession, and companies are downsizing. Look at Nigeria that has no way of even managing our resources, both human and minerals, and all dependent on oil! how do you think we can cope with everything getting choked up at the neck? When a large percentage of youths earnestly wait for the FG, State or some Connections to get a job and survive. So what happens to the other millions of unemployed youths at the moment?

Are we still going to wait for the FG to spoon feed us? do we still need to carry on and blame the FG or our state government for our predicament or are we going to do something productive, pro active and uplifting to change the situation for us?

So i'm to talking to you, the unemployed graduate, are you waiting, praying and hoping for "job breakthrough" or are you being proactive to become a productive person that will be able to stand the test of times when they become harder?

BusinessHow Many Verified Twitter Followers Do You Have? by BLWeb(op):
Lets take some time to brag about our twitter accounts. If you use twitter for business, or for other profit and non profit causes you may have noticed some verified twitter accounts that follow you.

But first let me show you an easy way to list your verified twitter followers instead of sifting through your hundreds or even thousands of followers. Follow these steps.

1. Go to www.socialrank.com
2. Sign in with Your twitter account and follow the authentication procedures
3. Complete the sign up by entering your email address
4. In a few minutes you will be notified in your email when your account is ready. Then you can be able to log in and view your twitter followers.
When you access the dashboard sift through the filters on the Followers tab (just after Location) and select Verification: Verified Followers. The list of verified users who follow you will now appear.

You can revel in your fame and show friends and families your worth. Though it's all vanity but it can bring in some followers who will think you are valuable for verified accounts to even follow you.

Now what about my verified followers? They are only 7. Nigerian Tribune followed me at a certain time, but i guess they have left my bandwagon. Some accounts use this trick to gain your followership, follow you to trick you into following then and then they leave you on your own.

You can see my verified followers stats and my twitter username if you want to follow me: @brilliantlites.
Follow me and i'll gladly follow back

So can we see how many verified followers you have?
