awofasteph: I am an American born woman who has parents from the West Indies. I was not raised as an American by my parents and I have come to marry a Nigerian man, who has been good so far to myself and my son from a previous marriage. What I have come to understand so far is that nigerians do have a different view of Americans and it does frustrate me at times because West Indians and Nigerians share a lot of the same cultural values, and I find myself having to point these out to my husband at times. This is not new to me though because in the West Indian culture growing up we were often called Yankee by our trinidadian family members. It still makes me cringe to this day to hear the word. West Indians do not really like Americans, esp. African-Americans. I think it is not only a Nigerian thing but a world wide stigma. I do at times point out to my husband the stigma that Nigerians carry when marrying American women because they are known to do such things as get papers and leave. I do not think there is anything you can do to stop a person from leaving. Yes it is unfortunate that there are women and men out there who may be subject to this kind of thing. I can only advise to be careful in all decision making and take with a grain of salt. I can only pray that my marriage is successful and blessed by God Almighty.I find statements such as the highlighted to be hilariously RE.TARDED, but even more so hypocritical !! If you do like like Americans then why in the fuock are you hear and or want to come here? How in the hell can you hate the people who've established the life, liberty and over means to the persute of happiness in which to seek? LOL. You love Nigerian culture, correct.. then why in the Bleep don't you people go to Nigeria, instead of hear among people you claim to hate? Don't you know that without the culture attitude and whatever else you hate about the American people, that in which your people come here to take advantage of would not exist here? So it is illogical for you to hate them, and yet crave the fruits of their cultural attributes. You people are insane with this shiat. ![]() |
PAGAN 9JA:Yeah, ok. You're all talk and no action, is what I think. |
bigfrancis21: Have you ever visited igboland before? Have you ever come across lots of Igbo people before? I guess you've not because if you have the first thing you'll notice is the strikingly high number of very light-skinned people among the Igbo. About 45% of the Igbo race is very light-skinned. Many Igbo people when they go to the US blend in very quickly and easily pass for an african american, even I myself. Are you aware that two separate BLACK Igbo couples gave birth to WHITE babies in london two years ago? These two families never had any white blood running through them. The light-skinned nature of the Igbo race is indubitable. Even in Nigeria here, the Igbo people (and the Ibibio/Efik) are quickly recognized by their light-skinned nature. Come across any light-skinned person on the streets of Nigeria and that person is likely Igbo. www.nairaland.com/1073120/nigerian-igbos-white-childrenYou've gone into greater detail of the subject very well. . |
PAGAN 9JA:They'll probably want to slaughter you like a chicken for even mentioning such a desire to them. ![]() |

somalia9: liar ^LOL. No lie Kid. I don't know the name of the green stuff, but I can describe it to you. Like I said, it looked snotty, and it had these little meat balls in it, that were kind of the size of sweetish meat balls (small). Shiat looked nasty as hell. ![]() |
somalia9: THIS IS IS ONE OF MANY THREADS ON SOMALINET. ITS CALLED I HATE BLACK PEOPLE. LOL. THE FACT THEY ARE USING THIS WORD TELLS YOU THEY DONT CONSIDER THEMSELVES BLACK. BUT THEN AGAIN YOUR PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS CONDEMEND TO BEING SLAVES.You got a link to the thread in which this posted in on Somalinet? ![]() |
somalia8: Dude, your pretty brain washed. Somalis have lineage, and wouldnt trade that for a color. We have clans that makeup the somali family. it has nothing to do with arabs and north africans. We dont like foreigners, including blacks, ethiopians, arabs, north africans.Something worth protecting?... Like what? ![]() |
somalia8: i dont consider myself white. lmaoEvery Ethiopian I've ever known personally would tell you in a heartbeat that they they're black/negro, one of whom was my brother-in-law. I've only known 2 Eritrean in my life personally, and they both identified as black Africans as well. |
somalia9: No we dont eat spoiled milk.I've actually trying Somali food once before, at an Eid event a Muslim friend of mine once invited me to. In all honesty, some of it was ok, it had somewhat of an Indian type of flavoring to it, some other stuff they had looked nasty as hell, sort of had a light green snotty look and texture too it. ![]() |
I found this posted on another site, and thought I'd share it with you all. “An Asian and an African become friends while they are both attending graduate school in the West. Years later, they each rise to become the finance minister of their respective countries. One day, the African ventures to Asia to visit his old friend, and is startled by the Asian's palatial home, the three Mercedes-Benzes in the circular drive, the swimming pool, the servants. |
Fulaman198: They still do, look up the boori cult. Hausa haven't changed muchWell, it was obvious that in time they'ed revert back to their normal ways. You can lead a mule to the water, but you cant make them drink. MOST people actually blend traditional faith practices with that of their acquired Semitic monotheistic faiths; the Europeans, Africans, Natives of the Americas, Asiatics and more have all done it, it's only natural. |
lekkie073: where is maiduguri? It's located in the North Eastern corner of Nigeria within the state of Borno. |
Fulaman198: Hausa were already Muslim before we defeated them in battle, so I don't know what you're talking about. You're correct, though their belief system was not authentic and hence Fodio's belief in the need for a Jihad. Hausa states were mingling Islam with aspects of the traditional regional religion. |
somalia9: its called sambuus. the indians call theirs sambuusas. we call ours samboos and we perfected it...they cant eat beef for some reason cause they worship cows.Do you Somalis drink curd milk aka spoiled milk, as is customary among most East Africans groups I've associated with? I've met and or known personally, several Kenyans, Ugandans, Ethiopians and a Tanzanian who I've witness and or have admitted to me upon my inquiring, that they drink or "spoon" curd milk aka spoiled milk. Back in high school I briefly dated this Kisii girl from Kenya, and I can remember her mother would buy a fresh half gallon of milk and leave it sitting out on the kitchen counter until it curd (spoiled) and then they would drink it like that, and use a spoon to eat the curd. I'd try my best not to show my utter displeasure at the site of them doing that, but damn I majorly grossed-out by the site of that. I was told that it's a common practice with most East Africans. |
*Kails*:LOL, come on Sis, let's keep this civil. Now you're telling me that just because, to your best of knowledge, your country folks from Jamaica haven't mentioned anything about the Historical fact of that Non-Igbo slaves once referring to many of the Igbo slaves as Red or Red-Igbo for their common propensity for being fair complexioned, it must of not taken place? Really? really? Well, that is about as nonsensical as me claiming that since my families country folk, never mentioned anything about how native born slaves here in America used to call the fresh off the boat slaves from Africa "Guinea Man", it must of never happen when in fact it did. Just because something isn't common knowledge, and you or those you know may not know of it, it doesn't mean it didn't happen or takes place at current. |
Fulaman198: If that was the case, why didn't we force the Hausa to start speaking our language? It's a shame that you lack knowledge in your own history. The Goal was not to force people to become Fulani in essence via forcing them to speak your language and following your basic cultural customs and such, but rather to simply spread the reach of the Islamic faith; a Jihad in where Arabic is the jelling language between people in prayer and scripture. As long as the people committed to the will of "Allah" and acknowledge Muhammad as his messenger, everything else was nonsensical to a Jihadist, as the ultimate goal of the invasion would had been achieved. ![]() |
mrlizo: ANOTHER BLOOD BATHE...Humm, I'm beginning to believe that a large amount of these Boko Haram boys are foreigners from across the Nigerian/Niger boarder. If the government was really serious about ending this thing, they'd just simply tighten up that northern boarder, and within a couple of months, the group would be starved of new recruits, and simply die off. |
Fulaman198: I have to side with Pagan on this one, if Fulani were against every ethnic group, then why have a lot of Fulani adopted the language of other ethnic groups like the Yoruba and Hausa? Why do the Fulani always adopt others language/culture above theirs? Why do most Fulani people in NW Nigeria not even speak Fulani anymore and only Hausa? You come across as someone who does not know a thing about Africa, but you just talk for the sake of talking.Simple. They do so because they are nomads who do not have a land of their own in Naija, instead prefering to pillage their way through other people's lands with their cattle. This obviously would over the centuries lead to them picking up the languages of those who's lands they trespass through and cause havoc in. I'm not even African, so you cant call me tribalistic for stating this, by the way. |
Fulaman198: Lol I don't know if it is limited to just those ethnic groups, but I can tell you that Fulani are open to every ethnic group.Yeah open to attempting to mass murder them, when they confront them about trampalling through their farmland with their cattle. ![]() |
*Kails*:Well the fact of that you're only half Jamaican clearly shows in your lack of knowledge of Jamaican history. That information is absolutely true, it was even mentioned in a documentary I saw on Caribbean history a couple years back. |
onila:I disagree with your claim. That's like saying that all blacks period look the same, in which case would make your prior picture posts useless. ![]() |
Fulaman198: I know that China_made is Royal, especially since he posted screenshots from his smartphone, which happens to be the same smartphone he has used on his royal account.Yeah, I didn't even see the screen shots.. yet I could tell it was him. It was too obvious. |
