BluePrincee: The shareholding structure of the Port is as follows: The Lekki Port Investment Holding Inc. (international consortium) owns 75% (China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd 52.50%, Tolaram 22.5%), the Lagos State Government owns 20% while Nigerian Ports Authority owns 5%.
What kind of math is this? All the percentage put together is supposed to be 100% who wrote this na? This is the more you look the less you see😭😏 Stop disgracing yourself on the internet... Read to understand, there's an open and close bracket. If you have to be schooled to comprehend then... Sum 52.5 and 22.5 gives your 75 then add 20 and 5... that summation gives you 100. |

joetoocute: Good morning everyone. A friend of mine just started this project on a slopy land. The back of the building has a foundation of 6 coaches Double walls were used in all the sections at the back before it was filled with laterite( this cant be seen in pictures). DPC of 6 inches was also done. Is this foundation solid enough? The land is not water logged and he’s planning to build a bungalow. Seems your friend didn't bother to excavate for the foundation because the 6th course is clearly visible. He did a strip foundation and that requires him to have 3-4 courses below ground level. Please advise him, the best action he can take next is to embark on sand filling around the sloppy terrain to a reasonable height before the rain starts. Also to allow the foundation backfill compact naturally before taking up the super structure. No comments on the brick setting workmanship |

Patriot9: Here in Nigeria, we like copying rubbish, I was given a plan and on this plan, all the three rooms are ensuite with another visitor's toilet and you can only access the rooms through the lobby alone.
Then I told the architect to redraw for me with the following instructions. 1. Remove visitors toilet completely from the plan.
2. Make two rooms ensuite only and the two rooms
3. The third room should not be ensuite (room and toilet must be separated)
4. The entrance to the third room should be accessible from another angle.
So if I have a visitor who wants to use the toilet, he/she can to the third room toilet without entering the first and second room. Sharing the plan here, would give us a better picture of what you are saying |

BrickDevo: Very rare to see that in Nigeria, these are things very few people take into consideration. And i understand why It's safer, if you are saying very few people that you know of is taking 'sustainability' into consideration. If as an Architect (not a draughtsman) with the current global trends, you still create designs that impacts the nature negatively....... |

Curious345: Any child that does not act like his father is a bastard ..
I have it on record that tens of thousands of igbo were in that palace and were fed by the dad..
He also helped Igbo landlord collect rent for their houses all the times they were away and when they returned , he gave them.back every single penny.
I am sick.and tired of baztards like you .. urchins sucks Saying such rubbish with so much confidence tells a lot about your poor cognition. So if your father is a nuisance, must you slide into his shoes because you are his true son. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: I Cannot Take Up That Job, N150,000 Monthly Salary Is Too Small! by blyted: 4:40pm On Jan 15, 2023 |
IyaTola: I cannot take up that job, N150,000 monthly salary is too small!
Last year, a fresh graduate rejected the job I got him
I asked him to take the job for 6 months so that he can gather experience for his next job, but he didn't listen
He is still at home trusting God
I have had to advise a lot of graduates and professionals regarding whether to take up a role where the salary is small.
Some think the salary is belittling and not up to their worth.
I have also seen a lot of people on social media advising graduates not to settle for less which I disagree.
Your decision depends on whether you have a job at hand or not.
I believe it's better to accept a job with low salary than sitting at home to do nothing.
Once the salary can cater for your feeding and transport, you are fine.
No experience is a waste and no matter how bad a job is, you will learn something even if it is tolerance and perseverance.
You have an experience to point to.
You can't ask for a lion share (Salary) with a fish brain (no experience)
At the earliest days of my career,
I was living in Mowe -Ibafo axis, Arepo to be precise, working at Yaba and the salary was small,
I do wake up as early as 4:30am to enjoy cheap transport to Ojota
And BRT to Yaba were cheaper compared to 14 seater Bus.
Then, I do take standing in the BRT bus because it is cheaper than taking a seat
Infact standing was my hobby
I will get to the office 6am and wait till 8am when other staff will resume.
The pay was small, I worked as late as 8pm but the experience was BIG and worth it.
Later, I joined another company with double salary.
The rest is history today,
If you are in doubt of taking a job because of the pay, accept the offer,
Give your best, learn as much as you can, don't get carried away and keep your eye on your goal.
Remember, if you are too big to do small things, you will be too small to do big things
Do you agree? Not withstanding the fact that you copied and pasted this context without references to the source, it's all tales. Brt fare has always been the same, either sitting or standing. Do better to motivate us please. |

Atouke: Ikot Ekpene LGA, wears the crown of the most beautiful and serene local government Headquarters that's is not a state capital in Nigeria.
Its difficult to find an LGA which does not double as a state capital this beautiful outside of this city.
Ikot ekpene is fast developing and has a rich history of being the first experimental local government area council of British west Africa. This is where the colonialist started the local government experiment in west Africa.
You can watch a brief video of the city here! Where are your references... Iru-victoria island and eti-osa lga in Lagos beats this city hands down. |
