kettykin: The civil war was where Nigeria lost it. When a small , Unprepared biafran enclave with only 17 rifles brutalized what was supposedly the military of the giant of Africa backed by Britain ,Soviet union ,east Germany ,Egypt ,Ireland ,Sudan ,Niger ,Chad, cameroon , Arab world etc for30 months ,so much so that Soviet union was embarrassed by the ineptitude of Nigerian military and Nigeria had no option but rely on non combatant tactics of starving women and children also justifying it with the saying that all was fair in war. It came to a height when the poorly armed biafrans wiped out 90% of the second division with an improvised, locally made ogbunigwe operated by a battalion led by a major uchendu in a small town of Abagana south eastern Nigeria.
Nigeria won the battle but lost the war . And lost it's respect and reputation before the world .
Biafra lost the battle but won the respect, admiration and a dignified reputation before the world. receive sense in Gods name |

Abeg let him go and take several seats and give another person a chance. Or better still he can return to kwara where he came from. He did nothing for us. He should go back to kwara |

Jossyroyal1:

Similar robbery incidence happened while i was serving in Ikirun, Osun state
It was God that saved us that day because it was on a friday and them just pay alawee so corp member dey plenty for bank ATM.
As God will have it, I didn't branch the bank that day but the sound of gunshot I was hearing at the family house was heavier than Ikeja bomb blast. They were just shooting sporadically nd killed lots of innocent people The robbers were more than 20 and between the ages of 20-34.
As if that was not enough another robbery took place that same evening.
Up till date, some bank did not return to Ikirun true, Im a living witness, was a student of Osun state polytechnic then, left the bank hall (Union bank) 2mins before they started the robbery. so many lives was lost that day |

Islam › A Beautiful Story About The Al-quran by bmcariyo(op): 12:51pm On Jan 27, 2018 |
Why do we read Quran, even if we can't understand a single Arabic word?Huh This is a beautiful story.
An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Quran. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.
One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the Quran just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Qur'an do?"
The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.
The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.
The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just aganot trying hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try in.
At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, "See Grandpa, it's useless!"
"So you think it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket."
The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.
Son, that's what happens when you read the Qur'an. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Allah in our lives." |
