A five-day referendum on joining Russia kicked off in the Donbass republics and in the territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions.
More than 5 mln people will become Russian citizens if they answer the referendum’s question in the affirmative.
The residents of these areas will be able to vote in various ways: at home, in public locations, or at polling stations.

Residents of DPR and LPR will be asked whether they "support their republic’s accession to Russia as a federal subject."

Residents of Zaporozhye and Kherson will be asked if they "favor the region’s secession from Ukraine, creation of an independent country and subsequent accession to Russia as a federal subject."

In the DPR and LPR, where Russian is the only official state language, ballots will be printed in Russian. In the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the question will be asked in both Ukrainian and Russian languages.

What Gates calls “magic seeds,” crops includes corn and rice that have been genetically modified to resist hotter, drier climates, as a remedy to alleviate world hunger.

“Of course,” Gates writes, “the seeds weren’t actually magic, but by breeding select varieties of the crop, the researchers believed they could produce a hybrid maize that would be more resistant to hotter, drier climates. They succeeded wildly.”

The Ugandan Government has accused the EU of attempting to thwart its economic growth.
The disagreement with the EU parliament arose from the recent partnership between Uganda and Tanzania on oil excavation.
