The new PS5 has been reduced in volume by more than 30%, and weight by 18% and 24% compared to the previous models. There are four separate cover panels, with the top portion in a glossy look, while the bottom remains in matte. If you purchase the PS5 Digital Edition, you can add the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for PS5 later, as it will also be sold separately for 79.99 USD

Best advice I can give you is to never buy the digital edition, why did I say this? Keep reading to find out!

The new PS5 model will be available starting this November in the U.S. at select local retailers and direct.playstation.com where available. It will continue to roll out globally in the following months. Once inventory of the current PS5 model has sold out, the new PS5 will become the only model available.

The recommended retail prices for the new PS5 model are as follows beginning with the rollout in November at participating retailers.

Let me drop my own two cents on this matter, I purposely colored it in red so you wouldn’t miss it.

1. Sony has finally turned to Apple, ignoring the tech that core fans like me and you have been begging them to manufacture for ages then making the tech we do not need or never asked for, a good example is how everyone wanted a successor to the PS Vita, them go give us the useless PlayStation Portal, I no go lie, I don Dey give up on Sony small small.

2. If you already own a PS5, YOU DO NOT NEED TO UPGRADE TO THIS, na pure waste of money to do so, forget the 1TB they’re promising you, the storage on the previous PS5 model is more than enough for your games, and funny enough, the old one has an extra empty slot for you to upgrade the storage to your heart’s fill. I repeat, DO NOT BUY THIS CONSOLE IF YOU ALREADY OWN A PS5

3. To buttress my point more, it has no major benefits over the current PS5 in the wild now, no upgrade in graphics or any sort of advantage, except the fat that it’s “30% smaller”, lol who cares? So they could make a smaller console before, why did they now give us big sized one before? Na marketing strategy, don’t fall for it.

4. This isn’t the PS5 pro. who knows? They might release another console that has an advanced processor that what’s currently in the PS5. So if you were hoping that this refreshed model is the PS5 pro, I’m sorry to break it to you, it isn’t.

5. If you are a first time buyer, of course knock yourself out and get it, na great deal for you, but in all you do, DO NOT BUY THE DIGITAL EDITION PS5. Very very wrong investment, e get why, kindly let me explain. The refreshed model of the PS5 costs 499.99$ (approx 500$), buying this would give you the full package which includes the CD rom, hereby giving you the ability to buy and play games physically (CDs) and digitally (downloads from PS store), the digital version on the other hand costs 449.99$ (approx 450$), with the option of buying a detachable CD rom for 80$ (so 450+80 = 530$). So in the end, you’re spending 30$ more by buying the digital version than the disk version. Don’t be scammed, buy the disk version Jeje.

6. You see that brand new shiny new legs that holds the PS5 upright in the first, second and third pic, na him gan gan be the thing in the fourth pic, it won’t come with the console, it will be sold separately for 30$. If you look at the first picture well, you’ll see where they said “vertical stand sold separately” lol! Sony self don become very greedy and selfish, as said earlier, they don Dey copy these phone companies like Apple wey go sell phone to you and it won’t come with charger and earpiece, you go gats buy separately lol (mehn I miss those days when we got the value for our money, everything go come with am). Thank God for hacking sha, it serves them right. They’re becoming very annoying. Anyways I don rant finish.

Hello guys!

Please I got an issue with a PS5 console.

It's noticed any time a game like FIFA 23 PS5 cd is played, within a few mins, there is a 3 beeps sound, and the console goes off. And each time it goes off, the PS5 pad doesn't automatically power up the console. The PS5 would have to manually put it on. And when that is done, within a few mins after booting, it goes off after the 3 beeps sound.

Then secondly, thinking the issue was from the FIFA 23 CD, so another game was tried - Amazing Spiderman PS5, after playing it for about 3 mins, then this message pop up - Your PS5 is too hot... and surprisingly, the console wasn't hot at all!!! Then after that message, the console made the 3 beeps sound and went off.

Since then, there hasn't been any attempt to restart the console.

Please kindly advise on a possible solution. Thanks.
