mikeycharles: I won't call him a total failure but he forgot to address economic woes, Nigerians desire to see food on their plates, salaries being paid, buying phones for slaying e.t.c. Security and the fight against corruption can then be added unto it. Buhari's failure is the worst from history across humanity. I have seen many leaders but the case with Buhari is unumaginable. Only deaths recorded during this apc government is better described as tufiakwa. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Traumatized Nigerian Doctor Shares His Experience With A Ghost by Bobby808: 4:45pm On May 29, 2017 |
IamaNigerianGuy: The patient came into the hospital as an emergency. In such cases, the first doctor available irrespective of rank should attend to the patient. Furthermore, we are told that the other doctors were in the operating theatre. If they were to leave the patient on the operating table, that would mean almost certain death.
What the doctor did was correct given the circumstance. He started emergency care and asked for advice on any added treatment he should give. Unfortunately, the patient died despite his efforts.
Maybe in another country she may have survived. But her death is not due to the doctors negligence. If a senior had been present, she most likely would still have died given her condition.
Nigeria is a very bad country to fall sick. Our hospitals lack facilities. No drugs. No light. No equipment. No bed space. Patients don't have money. They present to hospital late. Doctors and nurses learn advanced techniques in school but cannot practice them on the ground. Lab scientists beg for chemical reagents and microscopes. How can we lack doctors and nurses and still export the few we have to Europe the middle East and America ? How can 'a whole' President go abroad for treatment and abandon his people to die at home? . How can we watch unconcerned while Saraki and Dogara propose to spend 150 billion on 365 people in the NASS while the remaining 180 million are left to die?
This is madness. Nigerian madness. . The solution is REVOLUTION. Unless and until we revolt and deal with the thieves in power; sack all of them and get better governance; we will continue to die like fowl.
That is the truth. Thank you sir for your question. Thanks so much. Bye for now. |

IamaNigerianGuy: Your posts are getting more irritating with every iteration. The doctors management of this patient will pass the test of competence ANYWHERE in the world. If you have a better management plan given the history and presentation of the patient, please let us know.
Must you comment ? Especially on things you know nothing about? I am not a doctor but an old man. The area am not too saitsfied is the other senior doctor who were only giving instructions. Unless they were also face to face with other very severe cases, I expect them to take over the treatment. If your patient was under that care of a doctor who usually take instructions from senior doctors and eventually the patient died, am sure you won't be happy. The impression that will follow will be that if the the senior doctor had taken over, the dead person may not have given up. How do you think? |

I don't understand how you can come online to consistently show your atrocious upbringing and bleak future by disgracing your entire lineage. It is because of people like you the saying '' truth is bitter'' still remain valid till today. From independence to date, mention one leader and government that has caused this nature of hardship, and evils, this high degree of frustration to Nigerians before? Point to one leader in which a jet fighter plane flew and go straight to its own IDPs, drop a powerful bumb by pin pointing the idp location, thus killing them in their hundrends? Tell ne one government like Buhari who killed its own citizens (Shiits) in their hundred because they merely blocked road? Mention any government like the Buhari led apc that has caused its citizens to commit suicide in this high numbers keeping aside those who killed themself too off records. Whose government has killed such high numbers of its own citizens like what Buhari has done to the ipobs in their hundreds? I can go on and count without stopping all the evil atrocites commited by the apc government and you are talking rots from that your dead colanut mouth. |

VanBommel: sir, no one is complaining about the way their father flogged them when they were young, what we're talking about is the bonding which never existed between father and child. If I tell you how it was in my home, you'll get to understand the reason for the resentment I have towards him. Now he's trying to come close to me and my siblings, but it's not just working out. The way you handled your children isn't the way other men handled theirs, I have friends and family members that loves their fathers so much. Allow the bygone go. Better forgive him so that he will last long. You dey hear? |

It is not out of place to do that especially when many of today children are very fast. Father should know that this jet age is not the best of times. We should remember that till this moment, what a father sees when he is sitting down, the child cannot even if he is on top of the roof. |

bencarson007: . @ Sir Fabian, I understand your sentiments but disagree with you on so many levels. 1). Kids also listen to their moms and do according to what they are told 2). I have seen many women who brought up their children successfully without the husbands and the children turned out extremely well... Case in point renowned Neuro-Surgeon Dr Ben Carson, world class Basketballer Shaquinille O'Neil - his mother's name is Lucille Harrison... Please use google sir... 3). You don't have to be a beast to get ur kids to fall in line. Instead of shouting, why don't you just raise the value of ur argument... Ur kids will listen. Do you know why white kids will stay indoors when they are told YOU ARE GROUNDED? The parents don't shout... Those 3 words are what white kids detest the most. Please watch the movie KYLE XY and notice how the parents talk and relate with their kids... Do your parenting with love and care...form a bond and see ur kids excel... Parenting is a respondibily given by God... Its not a war... My dad saw it that way and today, he is lonely... U remember his aunt trying to settle a dispute between me and him and she said 'JOE,YOU LOST YOUR SON LONG AGO...' And that was the truth. My own dad was a tyrant who saw happiness in his children's pains... How would u describe a man that keeps beating u for no reason and keeps telling u that he did not beg God to give him kids and ur death will make him glad... Please sir don't bash me... If you want to confirm my story, I am more than ready to allow you meet the who family so you see the damage popsi has done...I was never a bad kid...EVER!!!! BEING A TYRANT IS NOT PARENTING But the examples you gave, am sure, are all oyibo people. If we are talking of extreme cases, I will not support, but what the thread is talking about is not about extreme cases. Even if we are talking of extreme cases they are very few. Your points are also ok. Its all right. Bye for now |

lovelygurl: Op you are sooooo right! Number 8 and 13 is enough for those with a functioning brain.
The mistake most dads make is they think respect is sth. to be enforced on the kids, which results in forming boss, bringing up rules that don't make sense and barking around like dogs. The truth is they will "respect" you because they are SCARED of you. They will do those things you want them to, also because they are scared of your actions BUT what happens if they dont have any reason to be scared of you again? You don't earn respect by instilling fear in people, that's just pathetic.
Also most of them think they don't have to be close to their kids because of this and that. It could be because they think it's the mother's job or whatever. All they have to do is bring money to the table. How naive! Building no emotional connection to YOUR own kids. Jeez which kind of life are you living?
Well like op said when you retire and then seek for emotional bonding etc because you feel lonely, there is higher chance that you are not getting it.
Oh and it's also sad that most Nigerian men are brought up thinking showing feelings whatsoever makes them look weak I have read many posts from this thread including this one. Am just wondering the way most people, especially this era reasons. I mean the way the todey Nigerian thinks. I am a grand father. From records, no woman has successfully managed the home alone. Both mother and father does it together but when the father dies prematurelly, the mother and the children most time do not do well because, it is very difficult to manage the children without the father. Most children do not obay the commands and instructions of the mothers without the support of the father hence the father is described as always shouting. If the father do not shout especually the today jet age where children are very arrogant, desrespectful etc. All these children who posting and are sounding insultive to father and those who prefers to talk down, those children who misbehaves because the father is aged should have a change of mind. The bible describe the mother as a helper. Helper means to assist the father. Therefore, the father is expected to take the lead and to lead involved using all manners of methods to ensure that at the end, a good reault is achieved. My second son, now a millitary officer in defence headquarters was living with his mother, while I was transferred to PH to work. My wife was always complaining so much so that I was forced to remove him, take him and lived with me until he was able to finish school (university)and now an officer. So if you are still a young man under parents, please, always respect your father when he is old. Do not say he was using force on me and now that I am on my own, to hell with him. |

IdeyFindWife: Am from a so-called minority tribe but av been privileged to have related with government service infrastructures all over the 6 geopolitical zones and frankly speaking, politicians and civil service structure's the same everywhere all over Nigeria. Don't deceive yourself, aside from the good ones, majority of politicians and policy-implementing public servants have been a let-down to this country thus far.
People in each State first have to think for themselves by electing forward-thinking administrations with strategic long-term business plans and developmental models for their States which will not only grow them but answer all the deeper yearnings of the individual tribes/people-groups present in them! That being done plus good representative governance comprised of compassionate and conscientious men who won't go to Abuja to sell-out would have being great foundations for autonomous state developments.
Instead, what do we do? We tribalize every little thing right from council and ward levels. We queued up behind kolanut&yam eating deceivers who are ran elections with Bank Loans and long lists of pay-back conditions from different groups, financiers and godfathers!
When did the narrative change from thieving governors stealing enough money to be richer than their own States? When did everybody suddenly forget the stupidly-meddlesome contributions of the Military regimes and their damaging impact up till the present OR the need for constitutional/public sector reforms and restructuring the country?
Most tribalistic Nigerians have no personal history or reason for devolving into such hateful goblins with shallow mindlessness and perennial selective forgetfulness of everything else except their spite; they just stupidly buy into it!
The push-pull effect of you, Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo tribes and your constant puerile bickering has sabotaged the rest of us long enough! We don't need Lagos, y'all who want it and go take it and die for all we care. Being paired with y'all has been backward-tracking curse, not a blessing! And you're still talking shyt!
You people should get your shyt together!
That Lagos that you are crying over didn't start out as a problem to you. Lagos never campaigned to usurp any other State's position, resources or opportunities. The fact that you're not thinking or moving does not mean others should stop for you to overtake them. This is a Capitalist environment! If Lagos was not openly all inclusive, all tribes wouldn't be so glaringly well-represented there to the point that people call it a "No-Man's-Land"! To turn around and bite that same finger that fed so fat reveals depths of moral blindness and ungrateful wretchedness.
You've printed and distributed "Blame-cards" to Lagos and everyone else for your problems thus far. I'm sure you'll soon go and give God his own copy personally if you don't stop raising your Blood-Pressure needlessly like this. Who is this riff raff with alot of loossed brain nuts? Just mentioned the names of governors who have very serious corrupt cases as that Tinubu and Fashola since independence? If not that Tinubu is among the world worst corrupt people, why should he own more than three quaters of the entire Lagos state as well as your very self? If you trust yourself, tell Gbajamiala to support the movement of all headquarters of all the oil companies to their operational areas and see if that Lagos will be the same. |
