This things scare me alot.... I remember those days living in dopemu road, Agege. Whenever those plane pass our roof the fear i do experience till now still has effect on me. Especially british airway airbus that passes around 6 pm, the noise dat accompanies it can be very scary. RIP to the dead

Just finished miracle in cell no 7. In my movie watching career i have neva seen a movie that got me emotional like this drama. I fall hand i swear, at a point one small tear just dropped from my eye. Thank God i watched it alone, i for embarass my ancestors

His farewell is not needed, i'm very disappointed with his behavior and next time someone opens a thread in this section i will moderate it differently and by that i mean not giving the op preferential treatment .

I have never moderated a thread so strictly since i become a mod about 8yrs ago. I banned a very single person derailing this thread, i hid so many posts even when Danielhouston replied rudely.

I locked this thread when the heat is too much and reopened it when he was ready to continue, i have never done this before.

He threatened to leave if i don't ban those attacking him and i did that, after few days he came back with the same bitterness rather than continuing his thread then he deactivated his account.

So my question to many of you is..what a hell do you people want me to do for King Danielhouston?

Are you people honestly suggesting that nobody has the right to disagree with him?

More than 99% of people here support him and openly compliment his work here but still he got worked up by just one percent of people who did not share his opinion, even when i ban those people and remove their posts still its not enough.

If you are intolerant to alternative view then public forum is not for you.

This is not the first time threads are being abandoned in travel section. Whenever some folks uses their hands to type something it to attack someone, they neva make any contributions. Example is that bittertruth of a fellow. Travel section needs proper re-orientation, there will be a time nobody will like to share their experience then the purpose of travel section on nairaland will be defeated. Seun travel section needs more mods to sensitize dis place.

Hmmm...this thread is reflective of our problem as a country. Most projects end up abandoned in Nigeria because every interaction, response, or debate is usually based on ego and the ugly urge to proof every other person wrong.
Most Nigerians feel intimidated and relegated when their opinion is not adopted as the standard.It seems they subtly begin to question their own intelligence and experience and try to forcefully and convulsfully announce their presence by attacking who ever they feel has been stealing the shine on any given matter.

This guy (danielhouston) was giving most of us a a leaf of hope, you can imagine the work and sacrifice it takes to churn out informative and entertaining posts on a regular basis. Am very sure he has other important things to commit his time and mental resources too, but he choosed to stand as signboard for others to be properly informed and directed. Yet some people who have never created any meaningful thread in the past will come here to counter another man's personal experience.

If he says "Germans are good", that's what he experienced...maybe he just happened to meet the good ones, that doesn't mean all Germans are absolutely good, we know it's a subjective statement and it's not caste in stone! There must be some or many bad Germans as well, Why derail such a beautiful thread just to stroke and flagellate your tiny yet fragile egoistic peninsula

At .3 speed, she'll reach it in only 10–20 years. She could be back to celebrate her palindrome birthday of 555!

Age 600:
She made it. She found a habitable planet. Her arrival was disastrous however. Her massive ship failed to slow enough and collided into a vast portion of land traveling tens of thousands of miles an hour. She blanketed the planet in an atmosphere of exploded land that causes a several-years-long winter and kills 90% of the life forms there. Some of them were massive creatures that were as tall as trees. She is horrified by what she has done. She has caused an apocalypse and permanently altered life on this planet.

Age 650:
She feels something she hasn’t felt in over 600 years — she feels….older. She considers her own mortality in a way she hasn’t since that first time she went to the doctor's office and he said he couldn’t diagnose her some 600 odd years ago.

Age 690:
Communications with Earth abruptly ended ten years ago and she hasn’t received anything since. She is pretty sure that isn’t a good sign. Instead of planning her return, she decides on Plan B: developing the several hundred thousand diverse embryos to build a new world here that she will stay to raise.

Age 691:
Her memory is fading. She has arthritis in both hands. She has had a bad cough for months. But she has almost found the perfect place to found civilization. She just made it to a large land mass with wide, fertile plains.

The camp is set up, but she realizes she is dying. There is such a poetic justice to this. Her, a bridge between worlds. The last of her kind. Starting a new world while hers is ending. Her test batches have all gone horribly. They just can’t survive. It feels almost as if the world is just not ready for people like her. This world is a beautiful place. She feels connected with the universe and feels this solar system is truly her home. She’s travelled light years and left a dead world behind to found a new one. After centuries of fame, she feels content that she shall die and leave a world that will never know she existed.
She takes her beautiful “children,” frozen in their state, to their time capsule where they will sleep until the conditions are right—-temperatures that stay roughly between 50–100 degrees in temperate zones, for the atmosphere to change to a more fitting 21% oxygen and .03% carbon, and more kinds of wildlife that could feed people (damn that she killed all those giant creatures when she got here!).
She kisses them goodnight and walks to her favorite spot beneath that one tree with the funny bend halfway up. She closes her eyes and falls asleep.

….64.8 million years later, the time capsule opens.

In other news, the weather is beautiful today and I’m having a beer outside with my colleagues. Some of you have been praying for me or wishing me well and I can feel it. Good things have been happening to me lately and I want you guys to know. So thank you.

Remember I told you guys that I could not rent my own apartment because of my Schufa problem? I found an apartment last week and I signed the contract. I now have my own apartment and don’t have to share with anybody. The Landlord didn’t worry about the Schufa. I have other testimonies but I’m still thinking if I should share them or not. I’ll give it time.

I just want to say, thank you for the kind wishes and for riding with me. Even though I’m not obligated to write these things, we are benefitting from each other in some way. I am sharing, I am healing, you are listening, we are learning, and we are succeeding.
I’ll be out of Germany for a few days but I’ll check in from time to time. I just may not be able to write long texts until I get back.
