[quote author=Ymodulus post=28649538] Russia is traditionally Nigeria's main weapons supplier,Nigeria also procures from some other countries of the former east bloc like Ukraine,Former Yugoslavia etc. Only the UK supplies Nigeria from the west and a little bit from Germany. Recently Cheap Chinese aircraft appeared on the scene but they are clearly second-rate and Nigeria may not buy from China again except ammunition. The USA sold Nigeria transport planes in the past ie Herculus C-130 and donated a refurbished troop carrying ship (non-lethal) well over 40 years old and retired from service in the USA,I think they gave us another very old ship of non-lethal nature earlier. Well above 70% of our weapons have origins in Russia or the former east bloc and if you think critically, you will understand that there are more questions than answers.... My take is that this was just a disguised supply of arms from our traditional weapons supplier .There is a real or perceived threat that weapons supplies to Nigeria is being blocked hence the need to disguise supplies !THINK

I subscribe to your views. I think this is a very critical period in nigeria were our service chiefs has to be very rational and strategic in handling tricky situations. Even if arms supplies comes in disguise, it should be classified else it jeopardise all efforts. |
Ymodulus:

Don't you think this APC/PDP thing is hindering free thought(rational)? |
I perceive conspiracy in this whole thing. Though, the report is not yet clear but nevertheless, my theory tells me that, the CIA can't be far from this occurrence. As a scholar of international relations I strongly believe that Putin can't be that reckless based on the new found romance with nigeria. For the fact that russia is moving for more diplomatic ties and nigeria being a regional power will be a good ally and the russian govt will not do such a thing especially at this primary stage. Just my own view though. |
I think it boils down to morality and mental strength |

Sheriffc:

The future is not at stake. This is part of politics in the african context. It's funny when people think backward. Why is GEJ's declaration a threat to APC and co? What made them think that the best way to stop the declaration is by carrying out such evil act? The painful part is that most intentionally blind people will never understand the politics Behind terrorist acts rather they motivate the evil planners by celebrating their unjustifiable acts. This reckless behaviours of some youths make one wonder what the future holds for this country. I bet you, despite the compromise by some of the military officials, good most someday prevail Over evil. In One Nigeria I trust. |
“I heard that some of them are boasting of money, but tell them that Rochas has come; any day you hear that PDP brought money with pick-up, tell me so that I will bring money with trailer. All these PDP leaders in South-East, if you put their money together, it is not equal to half of my money.” I guess someone took a keg of ogogoro |
