Nigerians need to start paying for every wrong information they put out there that way we can have a better society Referring to forming a parallel government, Nigerians know those who threatened to form a parallel government in 2015 if they didn't win the election. We Nigerians are also aware that Tinubu did threaten the judiciary and the entire country through unleashing anarchy and chaos at the presidential election petition tribunal. |

Politics › Re: Why Peter Obi Can Neve Be President Of Nigeria by Bobloco: 4:24am On Oct 22, 2024 |
stuffs2002: I created a thread sometime ago and listed a couple of reasons why Peter Obi will never be president of Nigeria and the a horde of IP0B/0BIDIENTS started throwing insults One of the reason I said Obi will never ever win presidency in Nigeria was because of "YES DADDY" leaked audio. That audio went viral among the Muslim and Hausa community and some even went as far as translating the audio into Hausa language. Also Peter Obi going to churches to campaign repeatedly and in some cases telling the church to "take back their country" also showed him as an ethnic and religious BIGOT who appears to be in the presidential race to undermine the growth of the Muslims. Another reason that would impede Obi's chances of becoming president is that many northerners have not forgotten how much IIGB0S insulted Buhari and even claimed he was dead in a UK hospital and that a clone called Jubrin from Sudan was the one ruling Nigeria. Those insults is still fresh in the minds of many northerners and that will hinder them from voting Obi. You also have to understand that Northerners generally do not trust Igbos with power considering the activities of the Igbo army officers during the January 1966 coup where the blood thirsty Igbo officers wiped out the Northern leaders and other top military men in one single night.
Now Peter Obi and his 0BIDIENTS have increased even more reasons why Obi is not fit to lead a country like Nigeria.
1) Constantly attacking non-Igbo 0BIDIENTS particularly the "Yoruba but" people or better known as Yoruba 0BIDIENTS. Many 0BIDIENTS resorted to attacking and insulting the Yoruba 0BIDIENTS on social media and I cannot say I was not shocked at this because not being Igbo should not make anyone any less of an 0BIDIENT but the Igbo 0BIDIENTS seems to think otherwise as they were relentless in their constant attack on the Yoruba 0BIDIENTS. The Yoruba 0BIDIENTS are considered second or even third class 0BIDIENTS who's supports are neither needed or even wanted and this has lead to serious withdrawal of support for Obi from the Yoruba community.
2) 0BIDIENTS Insulting Professor Wole Soyinka and Peter Obi refusing to wish the elder stateman birthday greeting when Wole Soyinka turned 90 years old Insulting Professor Wole Soyinka was a very tactless move by the Igbo 0BIDIENTS because Wole Soyinka has always been a lover of Igbo people to the extent of going to jail for 22 months on account of the Igbo struggle. The insults Wole Soyinka received is particularly troubling because not very many people would agree to be jailed on account of others and since Wole Soyinka was able to make such a sacrifice, it became unbelievable that this is how the 0BIDIENT movement would pay him back for such a huge sacrifice. Also Wole Soyinka as an elder stateman represent a section of the country and attacking him is the same thing as attacking those people who consider him as their leader or one of their own who by the way are mostly Yorubas.
3) Attacking the Ooni of Ife and ridiculing his stool No matter what you think your grievances are, never ever attack any traditional leader because you will always regret it. This is because his people will feel slighted and insulted and will hate that politician
4) Attacking the Pastor Adeboye Same with the attack on Pastor Adeboye, members of his church and his followers will not be happy with the 0BIDIENTS for their constant attack on their beloved church leader
5) Attacking the Oba of Benin and the Edo people The 0BIDENTS attack on the Oba of Benin and Edo people can only be described as "shooting one's own foot" in a battle. This is because of the way many Edo people believed in the 0BIDIENT movement. Some people even used to describe Edo state as the headquarters of 0BIDIENT movement. So, it is no wonder many people were shocked that Edo people had to go through that level of insults from the hands of IIGB0S who are mostly 0BIDIENTS.
6) Attacking General Yakubu Gowon The attack on General Yakubu Gowon can best be described as the DUMBEST political move ever because Yakubu Gowon is considered a war hero who fought tooth and nail to keep Nigeria united and many Nigerians are great full to him for that. Yakubu Gowon is highly respected in the entire north and he is seen as a national leader by all Nigerians. Attacking Yakubu Gowon is basically attacking northerners particularly the Christian north who voted massively for Peter Obi. Obi in his silly apology to the 0BIDIENTS even used words like "enemy" to describe Yakubu Gowon. How does 0BIDIENTS want Christians in the north to feel now that their leader is being described as the enemy Obi's needless apology to the 0BIDIENTS was a bad move and it has exposed two things about Peter Obi. a) Obi does not care about offending other Nigerians as long as his Igbo constituents are happy no matter who was wrong b) Obi erroneously thinks he could win presidential elections in Nigeria without the contributions of other tribes. General elections as
Peter Obi should realise that winning at home is not even a prerequisite to winning as president Obasanjo lost in his home town when he contested in 1999 but won massively outside his home town and he eventually sworned in as president. Nigerians currently are faced with hunger and starvation inflicted upon them by Tinubu's calamitous economic policies. When are you going to create a thread discussing about that |

Politics › We Will Withdraw Court Case Against NNPCL, Others – Dangote Refinery by Bobloco(op): 4:19am On Oct 22, 2024 |
Dangote Refinery has clarified reports on the case instituted against the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) and five other companies over importation of petroleum products.
The other five companies are Aym Shafa Limited, A. A. Rano Limited, T. Time Petroleum Limited, 2015 Petroleum Limited and Matrix Petroleum Services Limited. Dangote Refinery, in a suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1324/2024 and filed by Ogwu Onoja, SAN, before Justice Inyang Ekwo, had sued Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and NNPCL as 1st and 2nd defendants.
Also listed as 3rd to 7th defendants respectively in the originating summons dated Sept. 6 are Aym Shafa Limited, A. A. Rano Limited, T. Time Petroleum Limited, 2015 Petroleum Limited, and Matrix Petroleum Services Limited.
The company equally sought a N100 billion in damages against NMDPRA for allegedly continuing to issue import licences to NNPCL and the five companies for importing petroleum products.
These it said are Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and Jet Fuel (aviation turbine fuel) into Nigeria, “despite the production of AGO and Jet-A1 that exceeds the current daily consumption of petroleum products in Nigeria by the Dangote Refinery.”
The plaintiff prayed the court to declare that NMDPRA is allegedly in violation of Sections 317( and (9) of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) by issuing licences for the importation of petroleum products.
However, as Nigerians were reacting to the development, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, clarified that the suit is not new.
“This is an old issue that started in June and culminated in a matter being filed on September 6, 2024.”
“Currently, the parties are in discussion since the President Bola Tinubu’s directive on Crude Oil and Refined products sales in Naira Initiative, which was approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
“We have made tremendous progress in that regard and events have overtaken this development. No party has been served with court processes and there is no intention of doing so. We have agreed to put a halt to the proceedings. https://dailytrust.com/breaking-well-withdraw-court-case-against-nnpcl-others-dangote-refinery/#google_vignette

1. Monthly allocations to many states and local governments have increased significantly, with some getting up to 40% increase.
2. Nigeria has successfully paid billions of inherited debts from several administrations.
3. Hundreds of billions have been allocated to the revolutionary Students Loan and Consumer Credit Schemes.
4. Landmark infrastructures are currently going on across the country, with existing roads and railways getting completed and new ones such as Lagos-Calabar highway moving at incredible pace.
5. Nigeria’s foreign reserves has increased from $34bn in 2023 to $39bn in October 2024.
6. The debt to revenue ratio has dropped drastically from 97% in 2023 to around 64%.
7. Fuel consumption has dropped drastically from 66 million litres daily to 25 million liters, signifying a massive reduction in smuggling to nearby countries.
8. Payment of debts owed to gas companies has resulted in massive improvements in electricity generation from 4300MW to 5500MW.
9. Over 1 million MSMEs have benefited from N50,000 grants.
10. The minimum wage has been increased from N30,000 to N70,000
These gains demonstrate the positive impact of fuel subsidy removal on Nigeria's economy, energy sector, and society.
It has been a challenging year so far, but it must be said that so much progress has been made in the bid to reposition the economy for a sustainable future.

Politics › Tinubu, Overhaul Electricity Sector Now - Punch Editorial by Bobloco(op): 3:07pm On Oct 21, 2024 |
Nigeria’s power grid collapsed again on Saturday morning for the third time within a week plunging the entire country into a blackout. Similar events occurred on Monday and Tuesday within 24 hours. The latest episode is the eighth time the national grid has collapsed this year starting from February. It is a continuation of the sordid experiences in recent years. The power grid collapsed 46 times between 2017 and 2023. For a country with humongous energy sources including 200 trillion cubic feet of gas, a vast network of rivers for hydropower, and abundant sunshine for solar arrays, it is a shame that Nigeria is still struggling to supply one of the most basic elements of modern living. That Nigeria can hardly muster 5000MW for its 220 million citizens 128 years after electricity was first generated underlines the folly of the visionless, inept, corrupt, and self-serving leadership that has afflicted the country for eons. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission blamed Saturday’s grid collapse on a transformer explosion at Jebba. The failure to make the required investment to replace and upgrade aging components of the national power grid – substations, transformers, and lines – guarantees the regularity of such embarrassing incidents. Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, admitted last Wednesday that the deplorable state of Nigeria’s power infrastructure makes grid collapse, either total or partial, almost inevitable. “It will continue to remain like this until we can overhaul the entire infrastructure. What we do now is to make sure that we manage it,” he had declared. The problem stems from the confounding neglect and low investment that the electricity sector has been subjected to by successive governments despite rising population and aggregate demand over the years. The Bola Tinubu administration must address this travesty. President of the African Development Bank, Akinwunmi Adesina noted on Saturday that Nigeria has the highest population of people, about 86 million, living without electricity globally, and that a recent IMF report estimates that Nigeria loses about $29 billion annually or 5.6 percent of its GDP due to a lack of reliable power supply. This is an outrage. Generators provide 48.6 percent of the electricity consumed by both households and businesses across the country with $16 billion spent annually on fuel per National Bureau of Statistics. About 59 per cent of industries in Nigeria are off the national electricity grid because they do not see the grid as a reliable source of power supply which is why they remain globally uncompetitive amid high energy costs. Nigeria’s power sector woes are myriad and complex. Inadequate power generation capacity, transmission and distribution bottlenecks, sub-optimal pricing and subsidies, operational inefficiencies of the Distribution Companies as well as regulatory uncertainties and policy inconsistencies top the list. Privatisation has not delivered the desired results because of the failure to match generation capacity with transmission and distribution. While the national demand is estimated at 40,000MW, Nigeria has an installed capacity of about 12,522MW but the national grid struggles to provide a little over 4,200MW. Even when grid power peaked at 5,100MW recently, it had to be scaled down by 1,400MW because DisCos rejected the extra load supply because of their weak infrastructure. Yet, Nigerians are forced to pay ridiculous differential electricity tariffs due to the gross inefficiencies in the system. Efforts to revamp the national grid infrastructure via a deal with Siemens of Germany since 2019 became an unending rigmarole with the Federal Government only promising to commit $800 million in September. Nigeria’s economic planners should know that without a reliable, adequate, accessible, and affordable electricity supply, lofty projections about economic growth, development, and diversification cannot materialise. The Tinubu administration must confront the electricity crisis by making adequate budgetary provisions for power sector investment in high-grade infrastructure, smart grids, monitoring, and metering systems instead of relying on loans and handouts from multilateral and bilateral partners. The N344 billion or 1.2 per cent allocated to the power ministry in the 2024 budget does not show any seriousness in tackling the problem. Tinubu must entrench a policy environment that will boost investors’ confidence to take advantage of the immense opportunities in that sector. The national grid must be decentralised as a matter of urgency. The controversy around cost-reflective tariffs will evaporate if consumers do not have to self-generate power at huge costs. Nigerians cannot afford to continue living in darkness, grappling with 21st-century basics when the rest of the world has moved on. https://punchng.com/tinubu-overhaul-electricity-sector-now/ |

Politics › Edo: APC Protests Composition Of Okpebholo’s Transition C’ttee by Bobloco(op): 2:50pm On Oct 21, 2024 |
THE All Progressives Congress, APC, in Esan North East local government area of Edo State has protested the composition of the governor-elect, Sen Monday Okpebholo’s 24-member transition committee, claiming that some names in the team were not members of the party. In a press briefing on Sunday, chairman of the party in the local government area, Emmanuel Ibhagbemien singled out a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Matthew Egbadon who is a member of the committee. He accused him of working against the party during the September 21 governorship election being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. He alleged that a business mogul and a traditional ruler from Edo Central masterminded his inclusion. According to him, “This inclusion is not only unusual but is a blatant affront to the integrity of our party. It is clearly a calculated attempt to infiltrate our ranks and install individuals in key positions within the incoming administration. “Let us be unequivocal: we will not tolerate intruders or opportunists attempting to hijack the internal workings of our party. Those who have not contributed to our success cannot be allowed to benefit from it. “We have now identified those who sponsored this underhanded maneuver. We wish to send them a stern warning: for their own sake, they must cease these unholy attempts to meddle in our party’s affairs. “To be specific, we have confirmed that a prominent business mogul from Ewatto, alongside a traditional ruler from Esan land, are behind the inappropriate inclusion of Rt. Hon. Matthew Egbadon on our transition committee list for their own selfish motives. We strongly condemn these actions and view them as an affront to the values of our party. “We advise these individuals to allow the Governor-elect to govern without undue interference and to let our party form a government without external meddling. “Finally, we admonish these intruders who inserted the name of Rt. Hon. Matthew Egbadon into our transition list to immediately disengage from our party’s affairs or face severe consequences. We stand ready to defend the integrity and core values of our party, and we will not hesitate to take whatever action is necessary to protect our mandate. On this, we are unanimous and resolute.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/10/edo-apc-protests-composition-of-okpebholos-transition-cttee/ |
