With a low life expectancy of 50 years, many Nigerians will not get to 90 years like Gowon. Poverty, insecurity, bad health care system, inflation and armed conflict will all contribute to that.

So when an octogenarian like Gowon clocks 90, I see no reason why people shouldn't congratulate him for reaching such milestone, as Peter Obi did.

My problem with Peter Obi's message to Gowon is that rather than congratulate Gowon and wish him more years, Peter Obi went the extra mile of celebrating complete failure. This is what Obi said:
