When you see Tinubu-paid agents and BATerians celebrating what they now describe as flopped protests, one might think that it's burned out of a sense of patriotism, but the truth is that it's burned out of extreme bigotry.
They just want Nigerians to continue pretending that all is well in the face of excruciating pains inflicted upon them by the Tinubu calamitous economic policies.
They don't want any dissenting voice against the Tinubu regime, which is now reputed to be the worst regime in the history of this country. |
Politics › Battle For Biafra Moves To US by Bobloco(op): 8:33am On Aug 11, 2024 |
…as Simon Ekpa signs N205m lobby dealLeader of the Autopilot faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Simon Ekpa, has taken the Biafra case to the United States, seeking international support and recognition for the cause. Ekpa, who prides himself as the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, BRGIE, signed a substantial lobby deal, worth $130,000 (approximately N205 million), with a US-based firm, Moran Global Strategies, MGS. The deal is expected to facilitate high-level advocacy and strategic engagement with key stakeholders in Washington D.C., including lawmakers, policymakers, and influential think tanks to advance agitation for the independent state of Biafra. This move, it is believed, marks a new chapter in the long-running campaign for Biafran independence, as Ekpa aims to leverage the global stage to bring attention to the grievances and aspirations of the Biafran people. According to a Premium Times report, the Finland-based agitator applied in June 2024 to engage the services of MGS, owned by a former US lawmaker, James Moran. The letter of agreement was signed by Mr Moran himself for the lobbying firm on June 10, 2024, while Mr Ekpa signed on behalf of the BRGIE on June 12, 2024. According to the contract deal, BRGIE will pay MGS a monthly fee of $10,000 (about N15.8 million) for services provided. The document shows that the contract commenced on 15 June 2024 and would be concluded on 14 June 2025. Monthly fees would be billed in advance on the first day of each month and due on or before the 15th day. The contract, renewable upon expiration on an annual basis, says MGS will help the separatist leader to convince the US government and private sectors to support the secession of Biafra from Nigeria. “Under terms of this letter agreement, MGS agrees to provide Biafra with strategic advice and facilitate interaction with appropriate members of the Executive and Legislative Branches of the US government, as well as third-party interests. “MGS will support Biafra’s fundamental goal to encourage the United States government to support Biafran independence and to recognise Biafra as the only entity which represents Biafra,” part of the agreement reads. “MGS will promote the narrative to US governmental and non-governmental stakeholders that Biafra, once an established, independent state, with Biafra’s stewardship, will be a close ally of the United States, as well as a bulwark against Islamic terrorism in the region. “MGS will also educate US and non-US stakeholders on issues of concerns pertaining to the Government of Nigeria, including, but not limited to human rights abuses, religious freedom issues, including persecution of Nigeria’s Christians, increasing Islamic fundamentalism within the Nigerian government, the Nigerian government’s alignment with US adversaries, and broader security concerns, among other topics,” the agreement further added It said the US government would be encouraged to engage BRGIE directly and through advocacy by the US Congress and others, including faith-based and human rights organisations and think tanks. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/08/battle-for-biafra-moves-to-us/amp/ |

Politics › NLC Rejects Police Explanation For Raid On Headquarters by Bobloco(op): 4:56am On Aug 11, 2024 |
Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, have rejected the police explanation for the Wednesday night raid on Labour House, Abuja, headquarters of NLC, saying the police hierarchy is economical with the truth.
At the emergency National Executive Council, NEC, yesterday, NLC leaders demanded full disclosure from the Federal Government on the police invasion.
Congress leaders at a virtual NEC meeting contended that the government’s explanation would determine the next line of action, describing the invasion as highly provocative. One of the NEC members, who spoke to Sunday Vanguard at the end of the meeting, among others, said: “NEC members were unanimous in rejecting the police explanation for the raid. We believe the police are being economical with the truth. None of the police explanations added up. The more you try to rationalize it, the more questions arise.
“The police in their explanation, claimed they did not know that the building is NLC’s headquarters. Lie number one: The police headquarters is very close to the Labour House. On several occasions they have deployed their men to the Labour House during strikes, protests, rallies and so on.
“Lie number two: The police claimed they were looking for someone on the second floor of the Labour House. But they first came to the 10th floor where they abducted the NLC security guard. When they finished their illegal operations, they took the security guard to the second floor. What were the police looking for on the 10th floor?
“Lie number three: The bookshop at the second floor known as ‘Iva Valley Bookshop’ has been in the Labour House for years and the operator is a very known person even to the police because some policemen come there to buy books. Why is it now that the police realize that he is a criminal and dangerous to the state?
“Why will the police carry out their raid at such hour when most workers had gone home? These are some of the questions begging for answers. “We are demanding full explanation and disclosure from government. “The raid was very provocative. We will not act now, according to NEC resolutions, we will wait for the government to give full explanation. Our reaction will be based on government’s full explanation.
“So, we totally reject the police explanation and demand full explanations from government for the raid.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/08/nlc-rejects-police-explanation-for-raid-on-headquarters/amp/

The fact remains that Buhari managed the economy better. The standard of living and cost of living were a bit better under the Buhari regime. You can't compare Buhari with Tinubu. Politics › Economy My Priority Now, Tinubu Tells Anyaoku, Others Seeking New Constitution by Bobloco(op): 9:56pm On Aug 09, 2024 |
President Bola Tinubu has told The Patriots, a group of eminent Nigerians, that retooling the economy for sustainable growth and development is the major priority of his administration and not working for a new Constitution.
The President, however, assured the group led by Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Commonwealth Secretary-General, who visited him at the State House on Friday, that their request for the convening of a national constituent assembly with the mandate to draft a new constitution will be reviewed.
Chief Anyaoku, speaking on behalf of The Patriots, appealed to the President to send an executive bill to the National Assembly, proposing two measures:
”The convening of a national constituent assembly with the mandate to produce a draft people’s democratic constitution. The constituent assembly should be of directly elected individuals, on a non-political basis, from the 36 states of the federation, possibly three individuals per state, and one from the FCT.
”They should be assisted by seven constitutional lawyers, one drawn from each of the six geo-political zones and the FCT. The deliberations of the constituent assembly should take into full account the 1960/63 constitutions, as well as the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference and indeed of the various national conferences that considered the Nigerian constitutions.”
Chief Anyaoku also said the Patriots requested legislating for a national plebiscite to which the draft constitution emerging from the constituent assembly should be subjected.
Responding to their requests, the President expressed his respect for The Patriots and their contributions to national discourse.
‘He said, “I want to assure all of you that as I listened to your two major requests on the path to referendum and that should lead to constitutional measures that will fit our diversity and governance so that we avoid conflicts and break-ups.
”I believe in the unity of this country and I want to assure you that whatever is necessary to put happiness and good governance in the hands of all Nigerians is what I would do,” the President said.
President Tinubu also noted that the clamour for constitutional reforms is a longstanding issue in national discourse.
He acknowledged the examples presented by the Patriots on pluralistic countries, such as Canada and India, which have maintained unity by addressing their diversity through their constitutions.
”The avoidance of chaos is necessary to build this country and move its aspirations forward for the benefit of all of us.
”I am currently preoccupied with economic reform. That is my first priority. Once this is in place, as soon as possible, I will look at other options, including constitutional review as recommended by you and other options,” the President said.
President Tinubu told Chief Anyaoku that he would be invited again for a more detailed conversation on the submissions of the Patriot.
”As you present this, just believe that it will be reviewed, and I commit myself to the belief that you want a stable and prosperous Nigeria,” President Tinubu concluded. https://dailytrust.com/economy-my-priority-now-tinubu-tells-anyaoku-others-seeking-new-constitution/
