Politics2027: Ralph Nwosu Declares ADC Nigeria’s Coalition Party by Bobloco(op): 5:23am On May 16, 2025
The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Ralph Nwosu, has announced ADC as Nigeria’s coalition party in preparation for the 2027 election.

Nwosu also voiced his worries about the nation’s ongoing decline, highlighting the growing difficulties of daily life and stressing that good governance is crucial for enhancing citizens’ well-being.

ADC National Chairman also voiced his concern while speaking to journalists in Abuja on Thursday during the party’s National Executive Committee meeting, expressing distress over the sharp rise in the number of Nigerians living in poverty.

On March 20, 2023, presidential candidates Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai of the Social Democratic Party unveiled a coalition formed to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

This move has ignited an ongoing debate about whether opposition parties should unite and the best platform to use in confronting President Tinubu’s administration, with various political leaders expressing differing opinions.

Speaking through the Chairman of the ADC, Board of Trustees, Mani Ahmed, Nwosu stated, “This consensus building, though very painstaking, has taken some time in the pipeline. I can categorically today, by the grace of God, inform you that the African Democratic Congress is the coalition party in Nigeria. What remains to be done is nothing other than dotting the I’s and crossing the G’s.

“For us, this is a momentous occasion. This is a great opportunity for the party to involve and accommodate all Nigerians. And by this gesture, we are inviting every Nigerian that has the love of this country in their heart to join us in this new crusade to bring about an enduring democratic change in our country by coming into our party, the African Democratic Congress, which can easily be seen as the African Democratic Coalition.”

He assured that ADC will remain dedicated to the development of Nigeria as a unified and indivisible nation, where every citizen has the right to live in any part of the country and pursue lawful economic activities.

Nwosu stated, “We have watched over the years how things have gradually deteriorated to the extent that normal existence is becoming more and more difficult.

“Statistics have indicated that about 5 million Nigerians have been added to the list of poverty-stricken people in the world on an annual basis. Now this is sad for a country that is richly endowed with enormous resources.

“There cannot be any other way to bring about change in the lives of our people that is better than providing good governance. And this governance can only happen when you have the right people playing their part in the political process. ADC has over the years remained a formidable platform in the process of re-engineering Nigeria.

“Within the past 20 years of our existence, we have shown commitment to national growth. We have exhibited the highest levels of nationalism and patriotism. And we have made several sacrifices to ensure that we bequeath to our next generation a country better than the one we have met.”

He lamented that the ADC has never had the chance to lead the country but expressed optimism that 2027 will bring better prospects for the party.

ADC National Chairman stated, “The journey that created this opportunity started a very long time ago. And we have had several meetings at the party in order to open up the party, re-engineer our processes, and be able to accommodate the teeming members of the political class that are willing and have lined up to join our great party, the African Democratic Congress.

“Within this month that we are discussing, the party has gone through lots of transformational phases, part of which has resulted in what we are going to actualise today, which is the final phase of the opening up of our party to accommodate the new people that are coming in.”

Nwosu acknowledged that politicians alone cannot change Nigeria’s course and called on civil society organisations to actively participate in the nation-building process.

He continued, “The politicians can’t do it alone and as such, in this process and this journey, we have also involved the civil society organisations as well as grassroots organisations. Because ADC strongly believes that all politics is grassroots politics.

“And we are happy that most of our grassroots and civil society partners are here with us and they’ve been part of this journey and they have exhibited great commitment and resilience over the months. And that has certainly reassured that the objective is very much achievable. We are building consensus.”

Good, you did agree they threatened to form a parallel government. So why did they make that threat in the first place? Don’t you know that by doing so, they created a precedent?

But go on, keep lying to yourself and living in denial. I know that you know that whatever we are witnessing today can never be compared to what Tinubu and his gang of Janjawiidians did to the Goodluck Jonathan regime under the guise of playing opposition.

In saner climes you dare not make this type of spurious tribal assertion without consequences. Until someone is used as scapegoat...
Unfortunately, this is not a saner clime. This is the Tinubu regime, where ethnic and tribal bigotry reigns supreme.

Did you not also read about the Ifo LG chairman who was threatened and hounded by his tribesmen for congratulating a candidate with the highest JAMB score—who happened to be from the Igbo tribe? To save himself from the wrath of his kinsmen, he had to congratulate another candidate from his own tribe.

All institutions under the Tinubu regime have become a disgrace.

JAMB, which used to be one of the few remaining institutions with a semblance of credibility, has now been infected by Tinubu's calamitous Emilokan-driven tribal and ethnic bigotry. It is now a shadow of its former self, gone to the dogs.

Last year, during the Mmesoma debacle, instead of handling the issue professionally and individually as an educational institution should, JAMB played the ethnic card, denigrating the tribe the young girl came from. That was when I realized it was all over.

This year, unable to find another “Mmesoma,” they released a list of states with the highest number of malpractice cases, unsurprisingly placing Anambra State at the top.

When Nigerians criticized the exam scheduling, particularly the early accreditation time of 6:30 a.m. and raised concerns about the safety of teenagers aged 15 to 17 traveling long distances for exams, JAMB failed to respond professionally. Instead, in the usual fashion of the Tinubu-led APC government, they singled out Peter Obi for a response.

This is the legacy Tinubu is leaving behind: one of deepening ethnic and tribal bigotry.

PoliticsHURIWA Slams Ministers’ London Trip As Wasteful, Demands Immediate Cancellation by Bobloco(op): 2:16pm On May 14, 2025
The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has condemned the planned international press conference in London by top officials of the Tinubu administration, describing it as a wasteful and insensitive public relations stunt in the face of worsening economic hardship at home.

In a press statement issued Tuesday, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, National Coordinator of HURIWA, criticised the move as “an extravagant jamboree” funded with taxpayers’ money while millions of Nigerians continue to grapple with poverty, insecurity, and inflation.

According to reports, Ministers Nyesom Wike (FCT), Dave Umahi (Works), Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (Interior)and others are scheduled to travel to the UK to showcase President Bola Tinubu’s “legacy projects” at an international media briefing coordinated by Bode Adeyemi, Project Internal Coordinator of the President Bola Tinubu Midterm Legacy Projects Review Committee.

But HURIWA decried the trip as tone-deaf and disconnected from the current realities facing Nigerians.

“It is both disgraceful and inexcusable that ministers who have failed to deliver results at home are now flying to London to tell foreign audiences fairy tales of imaginary achievements,” Onwubiko said.

“Is it in London that Nigerians will suddenly feel the impact of these so-called legacy projects?”

The group slammed the planned event as a “propaganda-driven tour” designed to whitewash the administration’s poor performance, warning that no amount of overseas PR could mask the widespread suffering across the country.

“From the reckless removal of fuel subsidies to the floating of the naira, Nigerians have been subjected to untold hardship. Yet, the government is celebrating projects that people on the ground can’t even see,” Onwubiko added.

HURIWA questioned the transparency surrounding the trip, asking whether the National Assembly approved the expenditure and whether Nigerians were consulted on its necessity or cost.

“The administration cannot call for national sacrifice and then turn around to fund luxury trips for image laundering. If these achievements were real, Nigerians would already be celebrating them in their homes and communities—not at a Hilton ballroom in London.”

The association also criticised APC UK Chapter Chairman, Tunde Doherty, who claimed the conference would “present the right narrative” about the Tinubu government. HURIWA said this was a clear attempt to mislead the international community and paint a false picture of progress.

“No carefully scripted presentation abroad can erase the hunger, joblessness, and insecurity that define life for the average Nigerian,” the group noted.

Calling for the immediate cancellation of the trip, HURIWA urged President Tinubu to recall the ministers involved and focus on resolving Nigeria’s pressing problems.

The group further called on the National Assembly to investigate the funding and purpose of the London conference, describing the trip as “criminally irresponsible” and an affront to public accountability.

“The people deserve leaders who stay home and work—not those who chase foreign applause while their citizens suffer,” Onwubiko stated
