The govt has already stopped public private partnership colleges from further admitting students, but in your post, you stated Conestoga, which is a public college, are you saying employers are rejecting graduates from public institutions like Conestoga are being rejected?

Thank you so much. So the part where they ask hubby how many family members he should only say one since the others will use their passport and get the visitor record at the POE?

In the background information, he will provide all family members details and also state their citizenship

A word of advice for everyone pursuing a study visa in Canada. Avoid private universities or public universities with private partnerships as much as you can, they are only after your money. After graduating from such schools, you will not be able to get a job with that degree or diploma as it’s basically worthless.

This is because private schools have really bad reputation now, many admit several thousands international students yearly just because of the money since they charge international students about x10 what they charge Canadian Students. Many employers have realized this as well, and more often than not eliminate applicants from these universities during the hiring process. Some notable schools that employers avoid are University Canada West, Cape Breton, Fanshawe, …

I would advice to do a thorough research on schools you apply to so you don’t spend all that money, then unable to get a job after graduation and have to return home.

Conestoga is one of the schools in this category. Conestoga even with the high fees admitted over 14k international students this past year, many of whom end up not being able to get a job because employers blacklist their resumes. There are several others in similar situation as well.

Please is there any factual data to back up this assertion?

Good day everyone , I am currently running an MBA in Canada and I want to apply for SOWP for my hubby and visas for my 3 kids , so two of my kids 7 years and 3 years are American citizens, should I still apply for study and visit for both of them. The other one is 5 years to turn 6 years in March(what type of visa should I apply for the Nigerian citizen who hasn’t turned 6 yet?). Will appreciate your feedback thank you

No need to apply for the American citizens, they enter Canada with their US passports, but you need to apply for visitor records for them. The Nigerian citizen will need study permit to enter.

Kindly assist with a friends request, he is in Canada as a visitor and he applied for study permit, wife (sowp) and children (study permit) inside Canada instead of Outside Canada. Meanwhile they have requested for medical and it has been passed but it has been 12days now since medical passed. Could the error be an issue for the delayed response.

No, it is just that normal processing time, tell your friend to be patient.

Biometrics: June 24th
Medicals passed: August 14th

Hello gurus in the house, I submitted my application they already sent a biometrics letter before before I discover a mistake in my date of birth, I have put up web form to correct it but my question now is should I wait for it to be corrected before I go do the biometrics or should I wait until it is corrected. Thanks for your swift response in advance.

Go and do your biometric, without it, the VOs will not touch your application, you can follow up the correction via webform and emails

Hello @Everyone!
My study permit application was refused yesterday based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
I paid for two years of tuition, had two statement of accounts of 26 million Naira and 28,000 Dollars.
I'm feeling let down and could use some guidance - any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry about the refusal.
The issue with your application is sources of funds, I suspect the VO did not accept your explanation for the balances you presented in the application.

Please give more details about the POF so you can be advised.

How positive is medical passed update on SOWP application? What's your assessment?

You can only be hopeful, passing does not guaranty approval but it is one hurdle you have crossed.

Testimony Time!

I left Nigeria on Friday night, arrived Montreal International Airport yesterday.

On seeing me, after custom declaration , the following is the conversation between me and the immigration officer that I approached for my Study permit:

Officer : You are here to study right ?
Me: Yes
Officer : What is the name of your school ?
Me: XYZ
Officer : What is your course of study ?
Me: XYZ
Officer : Please follow the directions to the next room to pick your study permit there .

I went straight to the room and in about 5 minutes another officer came with my documents, handed them over to me and directed me on how to join connecting flight to my destination.

It was easier than I thought . I wish everyone here similar story . Just believe!!!

I give God all my praise for making it easier than I had ever imagined . God still answers prayers , keep praying.

Here is my two cents: book to enter through Montreal , ‘e get why!’

Wishing everyone expecting PPR goodnews from IRCC this week .

Happy Sunday guys.

Congratulations, but it does not work like this for everyone, I have read of someone who entered through Montreal and his entry was not easy, there have been people who went through YYZ and it was smooth. Let us just hope for the best.

Hello All,

Please I am new to the process as I am just about applying for my PGD. I need a list of requirements to apply for the student visa. Most especially POF.

All suggestions and recommendations are welcomed. Kindly help out.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Firstly, visit IRCC website to view the requirements for SP and the amount you will need, then try and go through this thread to see how people have done their applications, it will be difficult to embark on this journey without arming yourself with relevant information on how the process works.

Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out for guidance and support regarding my pending applications with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Despite submitting my applications on December 18, 2023, and completing biometrics and medical exams in January 2024, I've yet to receive an update. It's been over 8months now.

- My application: Spousal Open Work Permit
- My daughter's application: Visitor Visa

I've submitted multiple web forms, but unfortunately, I haven't received a response. Has anyone experienced a similar delay? Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time

Please let the person who is schooling involve the MP representing their riding/location, The MP can reach IRCC on your behalf to know the status of the application.

Hello house,

Please this is urgent.

The program I applied for is only offered in September intake. I have applied for my visa but the way things are going, I don't think the visa will be out and I make it to Canada before Sep 3.
My question is, if I should defer the admission and apply to a different course offered by the same college for January intake, do I need to apply for another visa since its a different program but in same college.
Also, the program deferral deadline is 20th of August.

I am honestly very confused and disoriented.

Please someone should answer me.

Also please is there a number I can use to call IRCC

I will suggest you wait till 3 days before the deferral deadline, if there is no response from IRCC then defer to the next intake. Going for a new programme before your visa is out will not be advisable.

Hello, does it mean no one have any word for me?

Mr Bobomaigida, I know you always help and comment on people questions. Nothing for? Chaiii! So O.Y.O is my name.

Good evening all.

Please I need help with detailed visa sop, I want to transition to a new career path different from what am currently doing. I have some certifications and work experience in the new career I intend applying for.

My head is full, I sincerely need help. I want to voluntarily retire from my current job, I don't know if VO will want to see the letter of retirement in my visa application. Please anyone with useful information should please help. Am so confused of what to do and how to go about this.

Time of God, writing an SOP is huge undertaking, whilst some persons can help you write one, it good you have draft first, that can be built on.

Good morning House...

Please on completion of an Undergraduate program in Canada what options do I have?

Can I get a work permit - is there an "Undergraduate Work Permit"?

Or

Am I to immediately apply for Master's?

Please help clarify these

"POST" graduate work permit serves anyone that has graduated, once you are done with your undergrad then you can apply for PGWP.

Good morning all, I woke up to IRCC refusal letter. I submitted and explained everything. The painful part is that my letter was dated 26th of July and my agent just sent it yesterday. I want to order for my GCMS notes. Can someone kindly direct me on how to do it. Also can I apply for Masters in a different school? Instead of PGD that I previously applied to? Cos it looks like Masters application gets more priority these days. Problem is my CGP isn’t up to 3.0. Are there any school that accept 2.6 after WES evaluation for masters. Guys please I need your help, my head is all over the place and I can’t think straight. Thanks all for your anticipated response.

So sorry for the refusal

You need to check your budget to see if you can afford master's as most schools have increased tuition for master's courses, I am saying this because there are some few schools that take 2:2 for Master's admission but competition is high. Since you are travelling alone, you can still go for PGD but you will need to tackle it from a place of strength. Search how to request for GCMS notes on this thread and you will see it. Once you get your notes you can then reapply after tackling the reasons for refusal.

True, only students studying Masters, PhD and some specialized courses can come with their spouses who will be allowed to work. Other students can come with their spouse on VV.
