All these self-consolatory tales by moonlight won't deflect the fact that Igbos now own a part of Lagos state and are spreading their colonial holds on other conquered parts of the SW. Watch the video below again and remember who your new landlords are cheesy grin

Politics / Re: 1966: How Samuel Ladoke Akintola Was Assassinated. by Bobonnukwu: 11:28am On Jul 07, 2020
HappyRabbi:
1966: HOW SAMUEL LADOKE AKINTOLA WAS ASSASSINATED

“Akintola, come down; you are for lawful arrest by the army on orders from HQ 2 Brigade,” Nwobosi shouted.

“Under arrest ke?” Akintola said to himself, “Oya, come and greet your mother’s husband,” as he cocked his gun.

When Nwobosi hit the door in an attempt to force it open, the Premier opened fire from inside his bedroom with a submachine gun, shooting contiguously and continuously through the closed door.

“Return fire,” Captain Nwobosi ordered his men, which they did, enormously.

“Please sir, surrender sir. Stop shooting, please. They only came to take us to Lagos,” Fani-Kayode pleaded and shouted from the landrover urging the Premier to cease firing and surrender. But the Premier kept on firing until he ran out of ammunition.

Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola was the 13th Aare Ona Kakanfo (Field Marshal General) of Yorubaland. A title, whose holder, according to a widely believed myth, was not expected to live long nor experience a calm death.

“Krrr, krrr,” the gun sounded. The Premier had run out of ammunition but the captain and his soldiers did not know this, they thought he was reloading and waiting for them. Akintola, now powerless, held out a white handkerchief in a sign of surrender and proceeded to the verandah. Ajao and Uloh who had been hiding in one of the other rooms grabbed him by his arms and dragged him downstairs.

“Bring him out, bring him out,” Nwobosi shouted repeatedly after the firing had ceased and he sighted his soldiers with the Premier downstairs.

“Now, now, boys. Be gentle. We are friends here,” Akintola said resignedly.

“You shot at us. You resisted arrest. It was a direct order from the HQ,” Nwobosi thundered, “we are to eliminate anyone who resisted arrest.”

“Boys, it is for the good of the country. Why don’t we negotiate? I will see to it that you treated well. I have the Prime Minister’s ears,” Akintola cajoled.

“We are soldiers, sir. We obey direct orders. Egbikor, Chukwu,” Nwobosi called his soldiers and signalled to the two men to open fire on the Premier. Fani-Kayode stared in horror as the Premier endured a deluge of bullets as he fell to his knees still gasping for breath. Nwobosi then joined them in firing at the Premier as he fell backward with a thud as life hurriedly escaped from him.

The Captain and his men then released the policemen and proceeded with Fani-Kayode in the landrover to Lagos as the 3-Ton truck headed towards Abeokuta. They all left Akintola’s mutilated body, riddled with bullets, surrounded by empty shell casings soaked in blood, lying there on the bare ground in his courtyard. The Aare Ona Kakanfo had fallen to his death. The curse persists. #HistoryVille

Politics / Re: Three Yoruba Leaders Who Ran Away by Bobonnukwu: 10:54am On Jun 10, 2020
tutudesz:

The names you listed did not start a war that killed thousands, no they ran away when their lives were in danger! Ojukwu left his men and people to pay for his sins
I'm not a fan of Ojukwu in the least, as I feel he should have waited it out, bidded time by employing tactical diplomatic manouvres to buy time, and build an adequate military for an armed struggle. But he was a young man with no prior leadership skill in the political sense at least. Yet he fought against all odds and much against his wish ab initio (remember he was mandated by the people of the Eastern region to declare Biafra and five them guns to avenge the killings of their brethren in the North). He ran after he couldn't sustain the struggle, nearly millions mostly children died from starvation... If it counts as some moral victory, you didn't crush us by some military genius, rather you suffered far more losses in men and materials despite your vast superiority in men and materials. We only surrendered to the might of the British/Russian/Arab collaborations due to starvation, not outright military humiliation.

Replace Yorubas with Igbos in that same circumstance of history but with a plot twist... If Yorubas had fought that war even with all the preponderance of weapons domiciled in Lagos and Ibadan, and the North advanced against your region in an act of war... I can bet my two kidneys right now that the entire Yoruba soldiers would have abandoned their defensive positions and fled to Benin Republic and Togo without firing a single shot. Let's tell ourselves the truth here.

One person has been killed and a female police officer abducted while two other persons were gravely injured in separate attacks in Egbado North/ Imeko Afon Federal Constituency in Ogun State by suspected herdsmen. It was gathered that a passenger in a commercial vehicle was attacked on the way from Abeokuta to Ayetoro on Tuesday with the driver shot dead on the spot.

About an hour later, a policewoman attached to the Area Command Office, Ayetoro Police Division, was kidnapped and the officer’s car abandoned by the roadside. The abducted officer’s whereabouts is still unknown.

Another person, Segun Ileyemi, was attacked earlier around Olorunda on Sunday in an attempt to rob him of his belongings. He was stabbed severally and is still receiving treatment on his hospital bed at the General Hospital, Ayetoro.

This was yesterday disclosed by a federal lawmaker representing the area, Olaifa Jimoh Aremu (OJA). He lamented the spate of attacks on his people by the suspected Fulani herdsmen and urged security agencies to live up to their duty of protecting lives and properties in his constituency.

Olaifa, while urging the security agencies to be proactive and device measures to arrest the situation, also appealed to the governor, Dapo Abiodun, to pay attention to the plights of citizens in the Egbado North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency in the areas of security and road rehabilitation as criminals often take advantage of the impassable roads in the area to attack their victims.

He said: “I am sad to formally bring to the public notice of an unacceptable renewed onslaught of Fulani herdsmen on my constituents of Egbado North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency in Ogun State. While my people like others globally are grappling with the troubling effects of COVID – 19 pandemic, no fewer than three cases of attacks were recorded on the Abeokuta – Olorunda – Aiyetoro/Imeko Road in the last four days; all in the hand of these tormenting Fulani herdsmen.

Reacting, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State police command said the police are on top of the situation and were working to rescue the abducted female officer alive and bring the criminals to face justice.

STOP.

Igbos are TRADERS . What ACUMEN.?

Did they start Shoprirte or DSTV or Glo

People often confused Trading with business. They are not the same thing

Do Igbos manufacture Gala and FanYogo they sell so vigorously
Is Dangote Igbo?,
Are they the one building Eko Atlantic ,the refinery, Lekki Deep sea port, in the electricity distribution company sector where are they
Oil industry services e.g helicopters,. I can go on forever
The greatest proportion of business in Lagos is in the Capital markets, financial sector, banking, manufacturing
They gave been travelling to Asia for years to load containers and the come back to sell. That is the only business they know.
There are more serious businessmen in Nigeria than those loading and unloading containers
There are more impor
With all these stories that touch, those "mere traders" keep buying up your fathers lands and properties. New Igbo colonies are now springing up all over Lagos, and your people are been forced into the slums and impoverished hinterlands of Lagos and environs. One small Igbo boy based in Malaysia is now pricing the next available high cost land in Lagos as I'm typing this now grin

I guess the likes of Innoson, Cosachris, Ubah, Elumelu etc who built their brands with little or no government support unlike your brothers are fan yogo manufacturers abi? grin

So what has really changed? how are the Yorubanzas really faring now under the Boohary administration that was any worse than they were under GEJ (who treated the GEJ far better). I mean aside from the houseboy called Osinbanjo who is so inconsequential in the scheme of power play that you start to wonder if he isn't the courier service boy for Buhari and the other ministers in Aso Rock, hasn't Buhari appointed more Northerners into his cabinet so far in his office than Yorubas? how far with the white elephant railway projects that are still left in pending mode? the lock down has exposed the level of depravity, hunger and poverty in the SW more than every region bar the North of course. Yet we have a Yoruba No 2 in office, the people complain the most about Buhari now are yaribanzas as social media trends have exposed. Yaribanza don suffer walahi grin

Take a deep breath, read through my entire post again THIS TIME SLOWLY, then digest what I've been saying all along before replying me... hopefully more intelligently next time.
