TravelRe: Can A Family Of 5 Live Comfortably With 85000 AUD In Australia? by Bogeyman007: 5:49am On Sep 23, 2019
To be honest, depends on your lifestyle and other factors like where you see yourself in the future. Can you sustain current status for years to come in Nigeria?, I asked that cos was in similar situation; earning close to 1M monthly in Abuja. Even though I was relatively Comfortable, I concluded may be difficult to sustain(Child school fee, health care, other basic needs) especially if the project was working on ends. That's not to say you moving to Australia will be the better option but you don't have to worry about health care, school and basic needs like power/water.. So to each his own. Think about what you want and what will work best for your family.

Thanks a lot for the responses received so far. They have been valid in one way or the other. The truth is that I wouldn't have bothered if i needed to take the offer and relocate alone. However, from my search on the internet on rent, transportation etc and using the Australian income tax calculator, I have the strong feeling that my standard of living will drop significantly and living life there will be a struggle with my family. It may be eased a bit if my wife gets a job there but I don't know how easy and how soon she would be able to secure one. Infact, it pays for her to work now as the last born is not up to a year and I heard day care there is crazy which I don't even think I can afford.

I don't think there's need for the pleading. The accuser hasn't acted just. He/she should always remember Authority is simply a moral power granted unto an individual; therefore such individual must act just and with conscience as its only temporal.. Accusing someone of being of questionable character cos he/she voiced a different opinion shows how myopic you can. Saying Bellong's assistance has been exergerated.. Can you tell us how you arrived at such conclusion... Probably back it up with factual evidence.. I meant Data!

I regularly browse through NL and have found it very informative. Infact it's my first source of info on happenings in Nigeria. Whether you like it or not, Bellong has been very helpful and influential. Whether he pays for the ad or removes content can be better handled.. Putting others down and exhibiting high handedness is a No No to succeed in Life..

I spoke with a colleague recently who went on holiday to NZ some days back. She told me its a really beautiful place and right now that is my next holiday spot by Gods grace.

Meanwhile e be like say na Fatima shop you go abi.My displeasure with this our African shops is the pricing system(more like lack of it).

They can sell same item to 3 different people at different prices.I feel cheated anytime i shop cos im never sure i am getting the best deal. But as per no choice na,i still patronise them.

I can add you or anyone else who is interested in joining our melboune whats app group.

@bogeyman too as you dey talk say you are lonely

Totally agree with you.. especially point 1and 6.. I compare them to northerners in Nigeria. Hardly date people outside their regional block unless comma dey..... But they will get there.. maybe in like 10-15 years time..

Imo, the reasons why older women go for blackmen are:

1.They are either divorce and now have freedom to explore the forbidden.
2.They are seeking a black man to compliment lack of good sex from their husband, sometimes in agreement with the husband. (Influence of porn-the believe that blackmen have stamina and are endowed)
3. Revenge for heartbreak.
4. Fat women that whitemen call whales.
5. Women who think themselves ugly and have low self confidence.
6. Some are just very liberal minded and dont care about race. They are simply colour blind.

The younger slim girls would ideally not date a blackman except she is very liberal minded. The blackguy also has a very high chance just as a whiteguy if he was born in the country or grew up there.

Younger white girls that would easily go for a black guy with the exception of point 6 above are mostly the fat ones rejected by whitemen. Whitemen love slim girls so much.

Wow, have no idea we have such community here.. Aussie is a great place.. very laid back and full of opportunities.
Just like others said, not really a racism issue but more of White supremacy but just be your self and be firm. Does work..

Coming from UK, must say Straya has a long way to catch up with those on par in terms of economic development. Sometimes, I compare here to Nigeria as they are very reliant on natural resources. Would have expected more in terms of divisification.. Guess we will get there..

Long story short, it's my new home and love every bit of Melbourne. Hoping to make 9ja friends here in Melb. Can be lonely.....

@Joromi12,

Aussie is not difficult for Africans. I have 3 Nigerian medical doctors here with their own Practice ( hospital).
Anywhers you go, just adapt and be sincere, you will be fine.

On whote collar jobs, there are tons here in Aus. Have been a Business Intelligent analyst for the past 3 years. Never gets whiter than that. grin

Hello,

Recently returned to Melb, came to Atikulate but God dey grin.
As for flight ticket, it aint close to 800K.one i used recently via Qatar Airways was 1,900 Aud, which equates to roughly 500k. Note, there are cheaper alternatives like Egypt or Ethopia.

On having 4.5 Mil, which equates to roughly 12.5K Aud, not bad at all. That can help you settle down till you get a job but note PR cost will significantly eat into it. Currently around 3,750 aud. Can take up to 6 months for whole process.

My candid opinion, you dont need an agent. Go online, Read do more research and provide stated documents.

So whether Canada or Aus, go Online and research!

All the best
