AlfaSeltzer: Of what use is this god to us?Good question, God serves as a moral compass in the journey of soul, God guides the soul that seeks for it's guidance, God is expressed in three forms, Love, Light, and Freewill, these are the three distinct features of God, there are other features, but these three are the main expressions of God. |
ifeness: I keep hearing God is a spirit. Can a spirit have sex? And how come Jesus became an Arab? Was God an Arab?it's good to have you here on this thread, it's been long I saw you on nairaland, Nobody can describe God because nobody has seen God, jesus is not God, and if jesus really existed he was born of a man, God is neither male nor female, God can be referred to as it, God is the divine consciousness, God is Gnosis, God is the all knowing supreme being, God can take any shape and any form, he sees the future, past and present, words can not totally explain God, as God is a mystery, |
AlfaSeltzer: demons driving cars! No wonder you had accidents. Their driving instructor is shit.hmmm, you can laugh all you want my good sire, but I know what I experienced, and like I said experience is the best teacher, I pray for you atheists on nairaland, my former comrades, I pray that God reveals it's self to you one of these days. |
alchemist13: So which God do you believe in?I believe in the yoruba idea of God, olodumare, the infinite creator, whose consciousness knows no bound. The creator of everything thing on this universe. |
Apatheist: Interesting.my conversion was not instantaneous, I'm someone who loved reading books about the occult and occult practices, and I had a spiritual encounter that changed my life forever, you might not believe me, but it doesn't really matter, I know I am speaking the truth and that's what matters to me, I was faced with certain death on different occasions, and anytime I was faced with these terrible situations, it seemed asif I would die, but there was always an unexplainable miracle that would save me, it happened more than three to four times, twice I was in a fatal car accident where I was sitting at the front of the vehicle and all of a sudden the drivers would lose control of the vehicle, it would seem asif someone else was controlling the brakes and steering wheels, but on those two occasions, I was saved from imminent death, I used to be among those people who believed in "seeing is believing" but after witnessing varying near death episodes, I came to a conclusion that God was involved, because prior to that time I had come in contact with entities who told of what would happen to me, it's a long story, but what I have come to realise is experience is the best teacher, you would not believe me until you experienced something similar, but not everybody lives to tell the story of experiencing the above things I mentioned. |
Apatheist: You're contradicting yourself.yes my good man, I believe in a personal God, I believe God has an interest in each soul, as we are all various expression of the divine God self, and God judges each soul according to it's actions, both in past and present lives (yes I believe in re-incarnation), and we shouldn't always attach labels to one's belief, saying one is deist, agnostic, gnostic, atheist or theist, tends to create division more amongst us, we are all souls, and we are all special in the eyes of our creator. I consider myself, part of all religion, because if I were born in iraq I would probably be a muslim, or if I were born in tibet, I might have become a Buddhist monk, so you see that our environment and society shapes our beliefs, we are all sentient beings and we have the ability to adapt to different aspects of life, it does not mean because someone does not believe in what you do, then that soul is lost or is going to be destroyed, concepts like hell fire, were created by occultic scholars to put fear in the hearts of humans, to curb them from becoming enlightened or illuminated. |
mstik: Op, so basically, you saying that you believe in God, but not in religion?thank you very much melady, for your insightful question, Yes I believe strongly in God but I do not believe in Religion, religion is the root cause of the problems we are facing as human beings today, the christians killed millions of people during the crusades and the Spanish/european inquisitions, the muslims killed millions (and are still killing) in their establishment of different islamic caliphates, the jews killed thousands of non jews in their quest for a jewish state, the budhists in indochina also killed lots of people because of their faith, what do all these killings have in common? Religion, they are all different religions that believe in different things. And any belief that has been tainted with the killing of innocent people creates a sort of karma that will not be washed away, take the palestinians for example, so far over a thousand palestinian people have died at the hands of the IDF, do you think that the future palestinian generations to come will forgive the Isrealis for what is happening to them now? No, and if tables are turned the palestinians would kill more jews thereby creating more trouble for future generations of both groups, these people kill each other because of their contradicting religious inclinations. |
First and foremost, I want to let you and other atheists who might participate on this thread that I have the utmost regard for atheists as I myself used to be one, I see atheism as the first step towards spiritual enlightenment and Freedom, it's because of your love for equality, rational judgement, and love for your fellow man, that's why you're an atheist, and I respect those traits in you, I do not disagree with you, Religion is nothing but propaganda and a tool used by politicians to control the masses, Religion is a political tool nothing more nothing less, it's easier to control people who believe in the same religion, than to control people of varying religions, hence the need for Religionists to seek for more converts, God exists not because Religion says He/she does, but because the world is too full of amazing things for these things to have come by chance or randomness, there is no random thing in this world, the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and persians practiced all sorts of magic and they witnessed strange things happen, how did they get these powers? If not from God, God is not about christian or muslim, God does not have a religion, God is not a politician, God is the creator of life and the creator of everything you see on earth, there is no one way to serving God, God knows the hearts of men, because we are his creatures, and we are part of him, we have soul, and soul is what makes us living, and that soul is from God, soul is soul irrespective of race or gender, and soul reaps what it sows in this plane of existence, the universe is balanced, and that's what karma and dharma does, they balance the system of the universes, how do you know that the world is balanced? Take the crop cycle for example, everything goes through the soil, back to the atmosphere, back to the soil, etc, if you look around your ecosystem you'll see that balance in the ecosystem, it's an unending cycle, that's how life is, when we re-incarnate we complete these cycles. God is divine consciousness, And God is also personal, as he judges soul according to it's actions. |
Apatheist: What did you make of the fallacies, inconsistencies, contradictions and plagiarism in the Buy-bull?My Good sire, with your permission, I would love to create a new topic where both of us can discuss more extensively on this, should I? |
Apatheist: not at all.My good mann, I know this is a faceless forum, and we do not know each other, I feel connected to you because I was once an atheist, my good man, I was once a very prominent atheist both here on nairaland and in the real world, I had all the biblical contradictions you could think of, I belonged to different atheist forums, like happy atheist forum and other atheist forums, But my good sire, being an atheist is something I regret now, because I was indeed very foolish then, there is God my good mann, and I hope you come to this realisation on time, I'll put you in prayers, there's a saying that what the elder sits down and sees, the young ones even though they climb mount chimolunga (mount everest) they will never see it, being someone who was a fore runner of atheism here on nairaland I beg you to please consider your stance, there is God my good man. |
I wonder what Nigerians will do when ish hits the fan. |
Apatheist: See how much God has worked for us!I guess your statement is ironic my good man, you do not believe in God I guess? |
Macelliot: May the good LORD GOD through HIS infinite mercy grant Us peace, love between different religion and tribes in this country in Christ Jesus' name. Amen.Amen. |
O God our Creator, we come before you with grateful hearts, For everything you have done for us, For the unseen battles you have been fighting for us in this country, we are Grateful O God our creator, Our God and Creator our country Nigeria is experiencing problems from every corner, we have no power of our own to solve these problems, But we believe and trust in you, we know you will not let us down, our God our father, answer the prayer of your children, let there be peace and progress in the land, let there be unity and Joy, let there be prosperity and love, grant us peace and remove sickness from our land. Thank you our creator, for you told us that those who put their trust in you will not be put to shame. We put our total trust in you our creator, it is well with us and our families, it is well with our nation Nigeria. AMEN. |
Idrismusty97: In some conditions war is inevitable. It would be the only tool for peace! Some part of the world(Europe especially) has become peaceful because of the numerous war they fought in the past. I am not in support of war but it is the only solution in some case. Imagine if you were born and raised in Gaza, you know the bloody history of that region and how you finally end up in the biggest prison in the world what would you do? This is a tweet by British MP David Ward of the Liberal Democrats party; Although he was penalized for it but there is elements of truth in it.you're right my good sire, for pointing out that some parts of europe is experiencing peace because they've fought wars and they know the travails of war, but the funny thing about war is, nobody knows how it ends, in war everybody is a victim, I have experienced a crisis in the Niger delta that was similar to a war, and my Good man, I wouldn't want to ever witness something like that again, when people are fighting things tend to get unpredictable. May God save us all. |
The Global jihad against non muslims took a new dimension, when ISIS declared it's self an islamic caliphate, the declaration which was met with surprise has grown exponentially in the last few weeks, and with the other jidadist groups that the united states termed "moderate", in the middle east pledging Support to the new islamic state, it's power is now being consolidated, all over the world, in social medias and free to air cable stations, there is an ongoing call for extremist muslims to pick up their Guns and swords to fight against infidels (non muslims) in order to establish a powerful islamic caliphate that would spread from the middle east, to Africa, and with the recent escalation of tensions between hamas and isreal, things are surely going to get more murkier in the coming months, jihadists all over the world are heading to the middle east and Africa, to help their fellow brothers in the holy jihad against non muslims. Right about now the middle east is embroiled in a situation that could deteriorate rapidly, and Africa would have a terrible ripple effect, as jihadists from the middle east would pour in large numbers into African countries, like, mali, somalia, sudan, Nigeria, Egypt, libya, cameroon, if the situation in the middle east is not properly checkmated, Africa and Africans would be at the receiving end of great devastation, as there would be proliferation of weapons and fighting men to the above mentioned African countries. The world is in a terrible state right now, tensions are high everywhere, The Americans have started thinking of worst case scenarios with Russia, and Iran's backed hezbolla, has promised to support hamas in it's fight against isreal. The North koreans are having itching fingers, and their new leader who is young and vibrant wants to test his country's military might. All in All the world seems to be ready for War, in all fronts. But there is Hope, the hope is that if we all keep sentiments aside we can be able to see each other not as muslims, christians, jews, Buddhists, or atheists, But as fellow human beings, war is not the answer, war does not solve anything, watching a man die brings no sort of satisfaction, it only brings pain and sorrow, we should all pray for each other and wish each other the best, this world can not survive another world war, we should all learn to live peacefully with each other, let's live in peace, christians love muslims , muslims love christians. Let's live as one. War is not the answer. Let Love Lead. |
bolaino: The war on terror is an unending war, as terror is something that has become a part of our existence as human beings on earth, terror has been a tool that the imperialists have used from time immemorial to force people to live in a certain way or believe in a certain dogma, Religious hegemony being a result of terrorism, is what we as a nation are suffering from today, our forefathers were neither muslims nor christians, jesus christ was not an ijebu man neither was Muhammad an hausa man, and I doubt if they knew much about us here in sub saharan Africa, but today our people have lost all sense of respect for their various cultures in pursuit of the white man's religion, I am not saying that these religions are all bad, but the truth is these religions play a huge role in the problems we are facing today as a nation, Nigerians are not bad people, No, we have good hearts and we love each other, but what's dividing us is religious extremism, we should all curb religious extremism before it is too late, we should curb it before it destroys all what our founding fathers struggled to build, sir Nnamdi Azikiwe and sir Ahmadu bello, would not be happy in their graves seeing all what religion is doing to us today, Nigeria is supposed to be a country with no state religion, But today we have allowed religion to dictate the way we interact with each other, if you have an accident on the highway, do you care about the religion of the people who come to help you? Do you say because I am a christian or because I am a muslim, that no christian or muslim doctor should treat me? No. The doctor treats you as a patient who needs help. Whether you are of the same religious view with him or her the doctor does not care, because first and foremost we are all human beings before being either christians or muslims. Let us learn to live with each other in peace and unity, Nigerians are good people but we are not a brave people. We can not fight war, the typical Nigerian is a coward that would run at the sight of blood and gore, so we should not make inciteful statements that would escalate the current security situations we are facing, we should all live together as one, both christians and muslims, Nigeria is our home, let us live in peace and unity, let us not allow the white man's religions divide us. Long Live The Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
bolaino: A few years ago security analysts in the united states intelligence community forecasted That in the coming years (which is Now) Nigeria would be a safe haven for muslim jihadists from neighboring African countries, like somalia, sudan, mali etc, when these analysis was made available to the international community then it seemed as if it was just mere speculations, but today we seem to be coming to terms to this bizarre twist in the scheme of things facing our security as a nation, the popular "war on terror" phrase has come to Nigeria, and unfortunately the war on terror is an unending war, as long as there are religious extremists in this world terror can never cease, and to make matters worse Nigeria is not prepared to fight terrorism, because we never believed terrorism would ever come to our country, there are many aspects of the war on terror that many Nigerians do not understand, the war on terror is not about boko haram, it's bigger than boko haram and it's bigger than you could ever imagine, the war on terror is an industry a thriving business venture of capitalist imperialists. They sponsor these jihadists using different fronts, and they have begun their Nigerian campaign, and they won't stop until they see Nigeria fall on it's knees to beg them to put a military base here, Nigeria has become the new Afghanistan ladies and gentlemen, we have inadvertently bought into the war on terror, and it's a bad venture we've gotten ourselves into, our leaders are ignorant, and they seem not to care about the real problems we are facing, toyota, kia, or any other car manufacturing company would be reluctant to set up car manufacturing plants in Nigeria if bombs keep going off in major cities, the german consulate has advised all it's citizens to flee Nigeria, American flights to Nigeria has been reduced and stricter immigration laws have been put on Nigerians going to western countries, we have to start thinking of actual ways to curb the rate of insecurity in this country, our president has to stop being political about these extremists, there is no winning the war on terrorism because it's an unending war, Ask the Americans who started it, look at iraq, afghanistan, pakistan, libya, etc, we have to be frank with ourselves and seek for meaningful ways of curbing this. And one way is to curb religious extremism. Both from the christian and muslim parts of this country, because Religion is the root cause of our problems. How many Nigerians will have to die, before the Government realizes that the war on terror is just beginning, our leaders have to wake up and face reality, we will not move forward as a nation if we continue to allow bombs go off in our cities. Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. |
My beloved nairaland, see how far you've fallen, "sobs" |
abiodunalasa: I am a student of Karl Max.karl marx inspires the enlightened minds, lenin also is inspiring too, in his own way, |
0lumide: Capitalism will fail but the problem is the educated illiterates all from Havard, Oxford, Cambridge etc.. They already making people believe the reason capitalism will fail is not because capitalism is bad but because there isn't enough free market for capitalism to operate efficiently. When a society chooses efficiency over humanity, both efficiency and humanity will be lost.excellently put sire, I would really love to pick your brain on this topic if you don't mind sire. |
AltarBoy1: You should equally call some of the black men forefathers devil... Cos why would some of them work in hand with the white men to sell their fellow black race and see nothing wrong in it...you're right, I guess humans are generally evil, |
White men are evil, the devil if he exists must be a white man, how can a human being carry another human being to his country to work like an animal? All the blacks in America are slaves, their forefathers were taken against their will to America to work as animals, what kind of human being does that? Only the white man, the white man's greed is so great that he would wipe out your entire race just for gold or diamond. The white man is a punishment from God on the black race for sins we committed a long while ago. Lol, I'm just kidding the white man is cool. |
texanomaly: So you think it's not a big deal because they've also issued a warning against Israel? Seriously?hello dear, pls put us in prayers we are in a very distressful. Situation right now in our country and it seems like things are about to go kaboom, have you seen skeeter on here since after the attack on nairaland? Hope you're good though, thanks for your love and concern for us, I appreciate. |
Hmmmm, let's see how this action packed thriller unfolds. Interesting. |

Nigerians are natural boasters and self praisers, the typical Nigerian thinks highly of himself, take for example, a Nigerian who is stopped on the road by a police man for a routine police check, the next thing you might hear from the car owner would be, " do you know who I am" they ask the question as if knowing who they are gives them the right to break laws or be above the law, Nigerians are cowards, who only know how to point out problems in the society but do not offer viable solutions to these problems, Nigerians are loud mouthed, and our image as Nigerians outside of this country is nothing to write home about. We might feel we are important here in Nigeria, but outside of Nigeria the worth of a Nigerian is nothing, because we have lost every sense of dignity, all we now have are our words, and they mean nothing, If a Nigerian tells you A you'll be expecting Z, Nigerians have become like the plague, people always look at Nigerians with mixed feelings. I've heard on tv and on radio and on the internet, where the most insulting of jokes are attributed to Nigerians, when a foreigner hears of Nigeria, they start, thinking of the following, corruption, insecurity, ethnic bigotry, religious extremism, and the list goes on, how long are going to continue using our loud mouths to talk about corruption instead of finding active ways to end corruption? Is this how we are supposed to live? We are creating problems for our children and our youths, it's time for Nigerians to start acting instead of talking, let's come together and build this nation. Let us not continue to be the centre of jokes to the world, let's all have some sense of dignity, united we stand divided we fall. Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. |
@op, thanks for bringing this to the notice of many Nigerians, not all Nigerians in diaspora are doing well, life isn't easy anywhere in this world, if there can be homeless Americans living in New york and chicago, then where can we not find poverty or decadence, we should learn to build what we have, Nigeria will not be built by foreigners, Nigeria will be built by Nigerians, we have to change our way of thinking. It's pathetic how Nigerians behave in different parts of the world, are we the only black people in this world? We should have some sense of dignity, haba, una no dey shame? |
Lol, hilarious, nice one. |
Nairalanders are scared to create sensitive topics, since after the attack on nairaland everybody has become very cautious of what he or she writes, I don't blame them though, the world is changing and we have to change with it, Eneke the bird once said, "since hunters have learnt to shoot without missing, I have learnt to fly without perching." |
teufelein: BreakingNews: Islamic Boko Haram bombs Enugu Markethmmm it is well, are we sure it was a bomb or it was just an accident, please let's not escalate the already frightening security situation in this country. |
