bolaino: I have the utmost love and respect for the armed forces of Nigeria, our country's military has wowed the world in the past and they have succeeded in helping to curb civil wars in some west African countries. And because of their valiant and gallant services helped restore sanity to west Africa in the late 80s-90s. Our army is growing and I know that in the future our armed forces would be one of the best in the world, I believe if we as a nation could be more supportive of our armed forces, it would boost their morale in fighting boko haram and keeping us safe. Because the truth is the army is keeping us safe, they might not be perfect but they have feelings like us, everyday we hear of military men losing their lives in defence of their motherland. These are wonderful people we are losing also, we should pray for the army that God should give them the wisdom and intelligence to handle this insurgency, Nigeria na our only country, abi una get another home? So please I am urging any Nigerian reading this to always remember the Nigeria's military in their prayers and thoughts because army men and women are our brothers and sisters also. God bless the Armed Forces Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. |
cronsberg: The more reason why am actively working on abandoning this hellish country to seek asylum in one of those scandanavian countries or canada. I can actually claim a genuine threat to life complaint, because am from the north east of this hell hole where its known as the hot bed of terrorism, am active online, and condemned bh on various forums, therefore i actually have a genuine reason to be afraid so my freedom liking, socializing loving self doesn't fall into the hands of these barbarians. Am a muslim myself, but i just know i can't coexist with these extrimists in the same region as i might be considered too progressive or too moderate.my brother, you deserve a better life, we all do, nobody would blame you for wanting what is best for you, your own good at least you even know how to seek asylum, what of our brothers and sisters in the north who are facing this problem everyday, smh, God where are you, forgive us ooo. Save us from the problems in our land. |
Sloan: Thank goodness you honestly see it! It is unimaginable that people still defend this government, as though a government's action does not either kill the people or give them life! I am realistic not to expect that any government will share pies to all from the sky, but even in life, I mean in the personal life of any reasonable human, if you try something for 15 years and it doesn't work, what do you do? You change it! Oh maybe the next one won't work or might just be marginally better but you already know what has not worked for 15 years! Yet Nigerians cannot see that, or at least most Nigerians on NL and most in real life who have taken 2 lbs bag of rice cannot see that! It breaks my heart too but I am beginning to be immune to the suffering of Nigerians because I think they deserve it: a people get the government they deserve! All the paid posters of GEJ forget that 4 years is very small compared to the number of years others would be leaders or president! What this means is that it is his chance to create an equitable and just Nigeria, create a system that is working before any other leader who has ulterior motives can perpetuate the manner of governance that has ruined Nigerians! However, he has not and they do not care because he is their son, the president!hmmmmm, my brother, I see dark days ahead, I see problems ahead for this nation, not because I do not have faith in this great country or because I do not want this country to progress, but because of the deepening Religio/ethnic divide that is being created everyday by mr president, I am from the south, But I will not hide under the umbrella of the president is an ijaw man so I must support him, most of the problems we are facing currently in this country are as a result of the president's lack of good leadership skills, come 2015 I expect us to have a new president, if for nothing at least for us to have a breath of fresh air, but I doubt that will happen, our president is corrupt and he'll rig his way to power again, mark my words, he is not a bad man, he is just a corrupt man, and you know that stealing and corruption are not the same, and not that big a deal to him, any leader who seeks to cover up for the mistakes of his leadership is a cowardly and weak leader, Nigeria is a unique country and we need disciplined leaders, president jonathan has created problems for the Niger delta, when he leaves office and a northerner comes to power, the amnesty program would be stopped and we might be faced with the same problems that once created the militancy situation in the first place. It's a terrible situation sire, I am honestly scared for the future of this country, I pray God intervenes, if not we are doomed, but like you rightly said, we deserve what's happening to us. We really do, we always support corruption and materialism, these things happening to us today, are the results of our approval of corruption. |
Judas2013: God is the reason our country is a failure. Over reliance on God has made Nigerians lazy and less productive unlike other societies. The Universe owes us nothing. Its either your hustle, use critical thinking or you go hungry and die. The invention of fire made our primitive race survive the harsh winter, otherwise they wouldn't have survived. without God,there will be no religion.you have a point though, but I believe it's our concept of God that's the problem not God, God is perfect and God created the universe perfectly, we as humans are not just making good use of our freewill, God gave us all freewill. Most people are ignorant about what freewill is. |
ogbronx: It is very disheartening. If only our pple are not myopic to realise that peace priceless.the sooner we realise our shortcomings the better for us. It's really dis heartening I tell you. |
Sloan: Nigerians are really suffering and they seem not to know it or are indifferent or have resigned to their fate and few try to run out of the country to where governments are truly controlled by the people and things get done! Oh, no country in the world is perfect but only if Nigerians understand what an excellent society is? What a society is? Can Nigerians imagine living in a country they never have to care about licking the asses of anyone because of food or daily provisions? Where your skill and time, no matter how low-skilled and talentless you may be in your life guarantees you at least a job from age 16 at minimum wage which converts to about N 1,500 per hour no questions asked, you don't have to beg your boss or be more nice than doing your job and at the end of the week, your money is in your bank account! So you don't like this minimum wage job, well go get a university education or have a really good idea or be very talented and you will be almost writing your own ticket to a better life and you can look your president in the eye and tell him, I don't like you and I will not vote for you and NOTHING will happen! No something will: the president will go back and work harder to convince you that he merits your vote and is ready to do do better today than pray that God should come and do his job!it's a terrible situation down here my good sire, the leadership of this country has failed us. Very saddening. |
nairalife2013: I think we have failed ourselves, not religion. Religion is God. God is the I am the I am. Unchangeable. Everyone has gone his own way but God is still there waiting. Where He is waiting is called EVERYWHERE. We have d choice to kill and defraud. We have the choice to do as we wish. We hav d choice to be ignorant. We have the choice to kill and we have the choice to believe we are killing for God. We have d choice to defraud and take d spoils to d alter of God and we also have d choice to believe such offerings are accepted by God. U cannot change the world. There will always be d good, the bad, and d ugly, till judgement day. But we can change our ways and reason with the Lord and shun extreme ideas in service of God. We can turn a new leaf and forgive and hav mercy and desist from greedy yearnings for the things of d world. If we are moderate, we can eat and remain for a brother, for d wisdom dat everything is vanity is a great wisdom. Fear the world, not for itz greatness and invincibilty, for these it has none, but for itz nothingness and vulnerability, for these it has all.hmmm, beautiful words on marble. |
smurfy: I don't have the time to argue with you. What I put above isn't necessarily for you but for those who love the truth. I also know you're trying to make FP or something like that. It ain't gonna work. You'll probably get a couple of posts and then your poor thread'll get dumped.hmmmm, you really don't know me, ask around, nairaland is no longer fun, i just created the topic to express an opinion. But it's all good, no hard feelings. |
AdeniyiA: we're simply a nation of religious but ungodly peoplewell said. |
smurfy: Are you an atheist? I know atheists use the phrase 'organized religion' a lot.No I'm not an Atheist, I believe in God, but I do not believe in Religion, is deeper life not part of the problem? christianity is as much problem as islam, Religion is used for control, according to the bible Jesus was not a christian, and jesus did not tell anybody to serve him. Who wrote the bible? Who wrote the quran? Let us free ourselves from mental slavery, I am sure you believe God is a white man sitting on a white throne in a white heaven. Deeper life is not the solution to Nigeria's problem. Rather it is part of the problem. |
Religion has failed Nigerians the two major religions of this country, one has become a breeding ground for terrorists the other has become a breeding ground for fraudulent people. On Fridays and sundays we see people trooping to their various places of worship, but after the close of worship we all go back to living fraudulent and terrorist lives. What a shame, the problems we are facing today is not as a result of our unbelief in God, but because of our distorted belief in God, we do not have any fear of God in us. That's why we are suffering today, organised religion has failed us in this country, and I think stricter laws should be put to curb religious extremism. We can not be divided by ethnicity and even more divided by religion, how can we stand? Let us all curb religious extremism and religious fanatics. |
The Nigerian situation is pathetic, and saddening, How did we get to this point? I sometimes wonder how we live with ourselves. Everyday we keep hearing the same old news of problems here and there, with no improvements In sight, if it's not boko haram killing soldiers, it would be soldiers killing boko haram, or pdp accusing apc or apc accusing pdp, is this how we are supposed to continue living? Nigerians live in denial every single day, we see our problems increasing but we seem not to care, just the other day, I heard an isreali diplomat calling places in the world that are over run by bombings and terrorism, he actually likened abuja to baghdad and co. When I heard him say this on Al jazeera I nearly cried for my country, because few years ago, I was watching the same Al jazeera and I saw bomb blast in baghdad and I was like " thank God say Nigeria no go fit be like this ooo" but today we understand what it means to live in a society where any time you are in a crowded place the thought of a bomb going off goes through your mind steadily, how did we get to this current situation? Anytime you watch the news you get sad, it's either you see and hear clueless Nigerian leaders making Ignorant statements on how to handle the current situation in the country,And with the unfortunate request from our president for an external loan of one billion dollars to buy military equipment to fight boko haram, I know that our situation seems to be hopeless, na now dem won buy weapons? how many people will have to die before the loan is granted, or how many properties would have to be destroyed before the weapons are even brought to the country, how long will it take before the army are taught on how to use these new weapons? How sure are we that Osama bin laden's son, abubakar shekau will not come and collect the new weapons that will be bought? How sure are we that chinese weapons will not be bought? We are faced with many uncertainties, but as is usual with us Nigerians, we are non chalant. The sad truth is the situation in Nigeria is worsening, is it the health sector? Let's not go there, or is it the educational sector? Nigerians, we have to be pro active, we have to learn to hold our leaders accountable, our problem in Nigeria is leadership, nothing more nothing less, if we had good leaders the Nigerian situation wouldn't have deteriorated to this extent. Nigerians are looked on with disdain in different parts of the world, the other day I heard someone making a joke that, the devil is scared of Nigerians. Although We are being told that our economy has become the fastest growing in Africa, and that Nigeria is progressing, But I don't know if there is another Nigeria, or if it's this same Nigeria that we are all living in, that has the fastest growing economy in Africa, is mtn project fame or Nigerian idols part of economic developments? Is gulder ultimate search a part of youth development? What is happening to this country? Our youths are becoming dumber by the day, if you don't hear skelewu this or ginger your swagger that, then you've not heard anything, Only God knows the truth of the situation of this country. May God save us all from the problems our leaders are creating for us in the future. |
Hmmmm, it's all Jesus. |
IBA SE OLODUMARE OBA RERE KAYY AYEEEEEE. |
Very saddening, this life is one big mystery I tell you, God knows everything. Nothing is hidden from him, that's why we should fear God. Rest In peace kefee, still can't believe she's dead. Smh. |
akraym: eternally grateful for what.for his valiant services to our fatherland. |
edoyad: I saw this on Facebook and it was also making the rounds in some circles when I visited Kd last week. According to information the guys name is Leo, a kd indigene serving in Borno. He was scheduled to wed his sweet heart on 26/07/2014 in Kaduna. May his soul and that of his other colleagues cut short on national duty rest peacefully.Rest In Peace brother. We are eternally grateful. |
lastmessenger: Guy take it easy because the world would be better.By the way Isreal is in a big fight with the terrorist Hamas group that has led to the lose of lives of innocent civilians your opinion on this?everything has to do with Religious extremism, it seems there is an increase in Religious Extremism. We all have to be more tolerant of each other. We are all human beings, christian and muslims alike. |
FOLYKAZE: Doing fine here. Glad you are still alive for the days of truththe last few months have been rough for me psychologically, but I'm keeping on. I hope the world gets better though, and I wish all of you well. |
Live healthily. |
FOLYKAZE: Obadiah lies in the valley of the bones.sup mann, it's good to hear from you. How have you been, |
Nairalanders, always with the jokes. |
God is Great, and He is to be Praised. Glory, Glory, Hallelujah. |
This is very saddening, the way our youths use drugs nowadays is becoming scary, God save our youths. Is the indian hemp they smoke in amsterdam in holland, different from the one they smoke in Nigeria? I dey wonder. God na your hand our lives dey ooo. |
icebeatz: The Nigerian army is not fit to be called an army. Its more like a ragtag bunch of demented civilians weilding weapons of destruction.the army is doing an excellent Job, we're in Nigeria my Good sire. The military is everything. |
Dorubucci, alanta, skelewu, malonogede, kokolets, ginger your swagger, swagger your ginger, rotate, Ginger, parcel, etc are popular titles and phrases you will definitely hear in Nigerian music of these days, if the song is not about wizkid looking for his caro, it would be davido singing skelewu, I have no beef with Nigerian artists, as I respect them as people trying to make a living in a society that has no musical standard, the only genres of music in Nigeria with sanity is high life and Afro juju, at the least when you listen to those genres of music you get uplifted, you reason ways to improve on your self or ways to improve as a Nigerian, people like the late osadebe, fela, Raskimono, majek fashek, oris wiliki, mandatos etc made music back then fun, and then we had beautiful hip hop music from arrested development, queen latifah, tupac, naughty by nature, tlc, etc to spice up the soul, but the musicians we have today in Nigeria are something else, everyday they keep spewing rubbish, and I sometimes wonder where they get the creativity to create this sort of intense rubbish we hear everyday that defiles the soul, I'm tired of hearing about sex on Nigerian Music. Our youths have become so intellectually lazy, dullards they have become and I believe christians and muslisms should pray for the souls of Nigerian youths and adults too, because the modern Nigerian music corrupts the soul. Makes you want to have sex and do yahoo yahoo or any other foolish thing that's "reigning" out there, promoting drug use and all other vices, what is Sk running in my small vein, that's like the lamest line ever in the history of foolish and mediocre lyrics. For pete's sake what's happening in this country. |
