I have played vice city(ps2), liberty city stories(psp/ps2), vice city stories(psp/ps2) but san andreas(ps2) is definitely the best have ever played, i could remember when we(I, my elder bro and my friend) completed the game that we caused a lot of chaos. . .

@elomi what's next?
Programming / Re: Should We Have "programmers' Conference" In Nigeria? by BOLAJIAJANI(m): 5:53pm On Sep 06, 2011
Elomi u're welcome
@fayimora I did see what you were trying to point out, I wasn't passing judgement on you, my post was like dat due to the sarcasm in your previous post.
You're right, I shouldn't tell you what u can't do, but then again you're wrong 'cause I didn't expect everything to be done in my city, if I didn't know better I could say the same thing to anyone that they're pointless. . . It wasn't that I was busy, no, not at all and not that Lagos is too far from Ibadan, but anyone who knows the root of it would understand. . . I'll say it again if i reside in Lagos, I would have attended.

Yes I know an association
was registered but
confirmed by who?
Maybe this is one of the areas we're missing it, why should I doubt elomi on the registration thing? We need to start having trust in each other, I know it will solve part of the problems and about the leader thing, I don't know about others but as for me the leader is elomi.
Well it is not false that we Nigerians love free things, but I don't belong to that class.
Your last opinion is true but part of the things we're trying to achieve is working together, but then again we could both go on arguing on what it is/what is not which won't solve any problem.
Thanks for your support.

Alrighty, i have read everything on this thread with care and deleted a couple of off topic posts! I must say I have ignored it for a while because I knew it was gonna turn into a chat zone. . .
why are u talking like a downer? Coz With wat you stated above, it reflects u do not believe in change. . . Anyway, i will give answers to your questions.

-->
For starters, what happened to the first meeting y'all were supposed to hold in January?
I wasn't at the first meeting cos i live in Ibadan, if u were part of this then, u wouldn't have been dere either coz u reside in the UK, but i believe u will get answer from someone who was dere.
-->
Aside from just registering a domain name, what else has been achieved?
if u rily went through this topic, u should have noticed that not only d domain name was registered, but software Developers Association was also registered as stated by elomi, and i believe that more can be achieved by others like u joining in this which is what we're aiming at by contacting u.
-->
Who is in control here cause everyone seems to be the leader
In order to make this happen we need opinions from every one, but as we all know that without someone in control, things won't be in order, even though this might not go well with everyone but the person in control here is elomi.
-->
Wats with all the ideas floating around? What gonna be the sole purpose of the conference. I meanĀ  what is gonna happen during the conference
If u hav rily gone through this topic, u should know that this has gone past just a conference alone. . .but about the conference, i believe some of the factors to make it possible is what we're working on presently. Wondering where the others at, well most Nigerians don't wanna start things from scratch, they like to join when its alredi working out, but isn't that why we contacted u?

Fayimora:

Sounds like you just need me to stick your topic! Ok amma check it out next week. . . . . .lol
Am sorry if I was like that, but this is no joke, If u're interested/believe in it, is not my decision to make,

@fayimora pls help us on this, a thread was created last year, Should We Have "programmers' Conference" In Nigeria?(https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-574165.64.html#msg9060044) the motion was supported by NL developers, and now Software Developers Association has been registered even a domain name> www.sda.com.ng has been purchased.
Now, we're planning on building a community portal for it but we noticed that people only see the topic when a new reply is been made but since u're a moderator on the programming board, a programmer, and u should be in this with us, so we thought if u help us sticky the topic more people would see it.

Other developers on this board check the thread for more information.

elomi:

Thanks BOLAJIAJANI. Does anyone know how to reach the guy(fayimora)? May be we can call him or somehow get in touch with him. Any phone numbers, email etc.?

Should we go ahead as scheduled based on the suggestion by BOLAJIAJANI or should we wait and see if other guys can contribute? Most especially as there are suggestions to give this thread prominence on the Programming page and better still home page.

May be we can extend the take-off date by say 2 days.

rgds
I saw fayimora on a thread, Lets Start an Open Source Project(https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=741302.msg9061633#msg9061633) we can contact him on the thread or by sending him a pm. We can extend the take-off till monday like you've said.

Yeah.
Programming / Re: Should We Have "programmers' Conference" In Nigeria? by BOLAJIAJANI(m): 5:04am On Sep 02, 2011
I think the people can't see this topic, they only see it when we make a new reply and it goes bck up, but if we can get the board moderator, fayimora to help us sticky the topic to make it stay at the top position on the programming board, i think more people would be able to see it that way.

elomi you're welcome.

Creating a collaboration platform from scratch will take extra time, we can just install a forum software(e.g SMF used by NL on any available domain/subdomain for the purpose of building the community portal. We make the forum private, which means membership will be given to trusted members/developers/designers helping on the project and General discussion will continue on NL.

How it works: New members account on the collaboration platform will be created from the inside and the password/username will be sent to their desired E-mail address and the forum will be configured for the purpose of discussing/sharing/designing/developing the community portal.

To spread the news around to other developers, maybe we can use word of mouth, posts on social networks, forums e.t.c. Stating the objectives of SDA.

I think the next thing for us is how we're going to collaborate on designing/developing the portal for SDA

Why do some of us think dat without uni cert you can't be better than others with it? Well that's why most of us saying so never move forward. Well what I want us to know is with or without 'uni cert' if we believe, we will be successful in whatever we do.

So if the guy dropped out he probably knew what he was doing.
