I must confess that as the son of an Apostle I don’t read the bible like I should, but one thing I learnt over the years by virtue of my ‘growing-up’ in a very religious family is the FULL DETAILS of HELL.

Hell; like a popular joke, which divides Hell into British Hell, American Hell, German Hell and Nigerian Hell describes Nigerian Hell as a cell where there’s no regular power (to electrocute) and the contractor given the contract to supply the nails and rods and other equipment of torture didn’t supply the equipment though he was fully paid for them. This makes the Nigerian Hell a paradise in Hell.

So also, Hell according to a Biblical school is divided into various parts. If you are one that ‘binds’, ‘spit’ and ‘stamp’ your foot on Devil every time with your prayers (especially in the middle of the night), your place is in the hottest and most terrible part of Hell fire (that’s if by one reason or the other you don’t go to Heaven). The other parts of Hell have a more liberal treatment since the people there didn’t give Devil so many wahala.

Oh this isn’t a religious piece (if it is my writer-Apostle Dad will be in a better position to do justice to it) but it’s about the Hell called Nigeria. The Hell Nigeria is divided into stages or levels. Yes we all should know something about the widening gap between the rich and the poor which according to the common saying ‘the rich (are) getting richer and the poor getting poorer’. Who are the rich who ‘bind’ ‘spit’ and ‘stamp’ there foot on the Devil? (permit my usage of the word ‘Devil’ instead of the ‘masses’) are they not the corrupt insensitive politicians cum business men who live on bribes and seek power to control and monopolize the economy and their godfathers, cabals and barons with ill gotten wealth all at the expense of the masses? They are the one who splash muddy water with the fat tyres of their big tinted SUVs; they are the people that control everything from the stipends we call salary (they get big salaries and still loot more) to the number of times we eat in a day.

You ask how they control how many times we eat. They do when they don’t pay our pensioners after working tirelessly for the country in their younger days and when they lay off civil servants in thousands (the ministry of Internal Affairs laid off thousands of workers last year without paying them a single kobo up till now) are they not controlling how many meals we eat in a day? Are they not stamping there foot on us? When they don’t offer the millions of jobless undergraduates a source of livelihood are they not ‘spitting’ on us? When we don’t have constant electricity and other basic amenities like health care and good water are they not ‘binding’ us in servitude and oppression in our own country?

The Nigerian state doesn’t need a soothsayer to tell us that we are in Hell. Yes it’s Hell. The leaders over the years have failed us, they have crushed our expectations, and they all were after looting of the State’s resources for their families and cronies. We don’t need a ‘maga’ who has learnt to be smart via experience to tell us it’s a SCAM our leaders are pulling on us. Let’s take power generation for example, over 500billion was spent between 1999 and 2007 and the current federal government has spent a lot on failed promises too. So also the unfathomable reason why we still on ‘subsidy’ and importation of fuel to a country producing crude oil when the building of refineries shouldn’t be the big problem we have at the moment.

We don’t need a SS 1 student of Economics to tell us that for the economy to grow there should be constant electricity, a great infrastructure drive and Security/peaceful co-existence to attract foreign investment and to enable our indigenous companies to grow and even export to neighbouring countries. When we create a conducive business environment, Nigeria will be a top destination for foreign investment because the ‘oyinbos’ know that all they have to do is sell a product to five million Nigerians daily making 5naira profit per head thereby providing employment for over 60% of the youths which would take this youths off the street of crime (even the Boko haram menace) and Nigeria will be more like heaven for the citizens and a gold-mine for businesses. Only when Nigeria is Heaven can we have a reduction in the ‘devils’ of jobless youths that take to crime and who are making the country into a security topic for the world to debate upon. But all this won’t happen without the right environment which we Nigerians are entitled to in our Constitution (chapter 2).

Another stage of Hell in us is the urge for revolution, the masses that dislike our leaders (some will prefer to use ‘hate’). But why won’t they? When they are stamped upon and spat on by the government who is doing nothing to alleviate the sufferings of the masses. This brings out the beast in us, the urge to either want to suffer-smile or the urge to join them and join their ways (like the corrupt contractor in the Nigerian hell), we want to join their ranks and take a slice of the national cake, we want to lord and we end up forgetting where we coming from.

Are we different from our leaders? Take heed everyone, the REAL HELL awaits. Now I have not said anything new and this won’t be the last on this issue but I believe the change Nigeria needs start with YOU .In the ‘remixed’ version of the words of Mother Theresa- if each and every one of us sweeps the front of our door step the whole country will be clean. We should also keep in mind the words of Winston Churchill- ‘if you going through hell, keep going’ and the song by Ron Kenoly ‘…if u are going through hell don’t stop. Just go-ahead….’ That’s the hope we have to take us through this hell because this hell is a place called home (for now).

Oh Nigeria Hell, our Paradise.

To be candid, I really don't get the, "completely locked out". Is it locked out from the site to be able to use the "CMS or whatever" used or from the "control panel" of the webhost? I've never seen a "complete locked out" of a cp before unless you forgot the password or the host messed everything up themselves. Although, from the look of things, I doubt if it's the former(very possible to be locked out) 'cause that would have been long fixed.

However, I hate to make assumptions, as I'm really not sure what went down, or what is really happening. Enjoying your 'Iyawo Nylon Bag', BTW.

When I first saw this thread, I had doubts 'cause a lot didn't add up. But, I rarely say anything without proof, not that I've done any investigation myself now. But to people who complained about the writing; a 14yr old person could write all what he wrote, practice makes perfect. Also, its no doubt that a 14yr old could do what he did as per the app.

The facebook thingy doesn't mean he's lying about his age to us; I've a 9yr old brother who has a facebook account and I'm sure his D.O.B is not 2004 on facebook.

However, the op is lying; He is not 14, but he owns the app. I'm not going to blame him 'cause desperation can make one do just anything. Nevertheless, lying or doing anything that would question his integrity is a stupid thing to do on his part.

That was my reply before this topic disappeared mysteriously few days ago. Elvis, next time try to be coherent with your posts and avoid anything shady. Hope you have been cleared?

Which is that?? And why the subdomain things??

Using a subdomain is no problem, I can't believe I actually said that. For years I really didn't take subdomain sites serious even though I knew that didn't really matter. Of course running a new site with a subdomain url has its negatives like giving the site a not so good image, url is too long blablabla. However we may see it, the fact is once the site has what the people want(contents), the look, url or whatever don't really matter anymore.

I think the question should be "why do people copy and paste" and not Nigerians 'cause it is not only Nigerians that 'copy and paste'. But you should be able to tell us why, at least you said you engage in this as well.
On a more serious note, people copy and paste due to several reasons which include but not limited to,"everybody is doing it, so, why shouldn't I?", "Pressure to update regularly", pressure to break a very hot news, limited time on the part of the site runner, inability to write, inability to think of new topics.
The truth is I get it when you 'copy and paste' on a forum, of course with the source but doing so 70% of the time on a blog is just totally, "I don't know what to qualify this".

Webmasters / Re: Can A Blogger Survive Without A Laptor/pc ? by BOLAJIAJANI(m): 7:00am On Jun 26, 2013
Sure you can. I can't even recall the amount of posts I've made on the internet using phone. However, it's always good to use computer. Like Ibietala2 suggested you can always go to the cafe, to reduce cost if possible you can write whatever you want to post on your phone. Then on getting to the Cafe, you connect your phone to the system and get them out to post. If you are not a full time blogger you may need to, reserve specific day(s) in a week for this. Nevertheless, having your own computer is always the best.

Stopping "Copy and Paste" depends on you, and what your blog is about. If you are running an entertainment blog there's no way you won't do this except you are running it as a business with lots of funds at hand. However you can always stop plagiarizing by rewriting the contents of the site you are copying from. I don't see anything bad in rewriting it as you are mostly dealing with general stuffs for everyone to report the only thing bad is you copying their content word for word.
Blogging about Personal stuffs is the easiest of them all, you really don't need to 'copy and paste' anything at all 'cause you are mostly writing things that interest you. Telling the world your thoughts, experiences, and just about anything.

Webmasters / Re: The Proliferation Of Blogs - Good Or Bad? by BOLAJIAJANI(m): 9:28am On Jun 23, 2013
Well, this is it; I hear it is possible to make money via blogging. I didn't pay much attention to really finding out the know how, or what it's really about. Why should I? I just want to make money, cool money and within six months I should start turning something in. I don't have to worry myself, all I need to do is, visit news sites and other blogging sites to get my contents. 80% of the Nigerian bloggers do this(copy and paste), and they are doing it big, nevertheless.

So, I found out one thing or two, I even see that I could start with little or no funds at all. On a daily basis I browse the web; social network, and do things that interest me on the web. In other words, data is no problem. Now, my blog is ready on a free platform. I get my contents so easily. All I've to do is spy on others' sites, and get (my) contents once they post it and keep my blog updated. . .

You know, I really can't blame people for this, it's just that they see that, people are doing something to make money. They don't want to do something really questionable to make their money. They see a good way to make money but they got it all twisted and that's really not their fault 'cause they met some people in the game doing it like they are [going to be] doing it(copy and paste) and they are not doing bad.

The thing is most people doing it the wrong way, see blogging as 'a means to an end'. If they really have passion for blogging, they would generate contents by themselves and not copy others. Truth is, some "copy and paste" bloggers don't even have interest in writing at all. It's just a means to an end for them. Look at their sites and you see that they even copy extensive contents without giving credits. There are times when entertainment bloggers have to blog on the same story and you see some bloggers posting the same story in a different way. But the "copy and paste" bloggers would just copy one of the available stories.

This phenomenon is not just limited to new bloggers 'cause recently I was working on a music promotional site and we posted a story, just 8 lines and I saw the same on another blogger's site(the same niche) word for word. This blogger's site is older and gets x10 our own traffic per day. I was like wow, but not offended, I was just happy someone copied our 'crappy' post.

Jarus, you are very on point

Going by the recent wave of responses from Nigerians as regards the state of the nation via social networks, one thing is very peculiar among Nigerians responding to posts on social networks; they easily trade blames over ethnic or religious differences. You can try reading comments on Nairaland.com and SaharaReporters.com to see what am saying.

Hence, am drawn to ask this question: IF NIGERIA WERE TO BE A LADY ON FACEBOOK, WHAT WOULD HER RELATIONSHIP STATUS BE:

A. Single
B. In a Relationship
C. Married
D. Divorced
E. It's Complicated

Pick one of the options, and give your sincere reason for picking such.

Let the fun begin.

Webmasters / How To Use Custom Domain/sub Domain Name For Your by BOLAJIAJANI(m): 12:39am On May 19, 2013
I've been trying to post this for ages(since last year) but for one reason or the other I'd been unable to. The screenshots I made for it even lost among other files along the line.

Difficulty Level: Super Easy

This tutorial is for bloggers and future bloggers on that intend to change the name..com of their blog to a custom top-level domain name e.g(example.com) or a subdomain(e.g sub.example.com).

Why do I need to change to a custom domain name?

1. If one is going to monetize his/her site, some importants Affiliate Programs and Ad companies may not accept a subdomain.
2. Some are usually too long, since they are a subdomain to .com and it may be hard for people to memorize
3. Does not look professional and may be looked at by people as one of those free blogs.
4. Custom domains are very good for Search Engine Optimization(SEO).
5. Changing to a custom domain name makes your blog more unique, I think.

What do I need To get Started

1. A blog
2. A domain name with control panel with dns control
Note: you can also use a webhost control panel to make this changes, if your name servers are pointed to it already.
Short notes

1.What is a CNAME?
A CNAME, or Canonical Name record is an entry within the Domain Name System(DNS) that specifies where a user can find your web pages, or any other URL . You'll use this to associate your custom domain name with your blog.

2.What is an A record?
Every host on the Internet has a unique number. This is called an IP address and has a notation of four numbers (bytes). The numbers are separated by a dot. An IP address might be 50.28.9.216 This IP address is hard to remember and hard to communicate with your friends or business relationships. To make life easier the Internet uses names, or domain names, to recognize IP addresses. Therefore, instead of 50.28.9.216 we could say www.simple.com, which is much easier to remember. This is very similar to having your very own name listed in the phonebook: your name has a number there as well your phone number. An A record is nothing more then an assignment of an IP address to a name.

Changing to a Custom Sub Domain Name
In this tutorial I will be emphasizing on using the domain control panel, Using Smartweb specifically and also talk about other registrars. Basically, the settings is almost the same with all registrars, and this tutorial is just to show you the psyche of linking your custom domain to your blog using any registrar.

1.Log in to your domain control panel
2.Click on my domains tab
3.Click on view details button beside the domain you would like to link your blog to.
4.when the page loads click on DNS management , after the page loads, you'll see a select box=> Select CName and enter www.yoursubdomain in the host text box and ghs.google.com in the address text box, then save changes.
5.Then add another CNAME with a special alias name which would be given to you by google whenever you request to change to a custom domain name e.g 7ibkexqsrgr3 pointing to a special destination host e.g gv-tme7vz5zcxbod3.dv.googlehosted.com
6.Also create four A records pointing to four different google IP addresses:
216.239.32.21, 216.239.34.21, 216.239.36.21, 216.239.38.21 for your desired domain name. Although the previous step is optional you can just create for one IP but it is highly advisable to create A records for the four IP addresses
7.Now, log in to your Blogger Account. Afterwards you click on the Settings tab, then Publishing tab, again click on the custom domain link.
8.Now, click on the switch to advanced settings link. You should see a page with a text box to enter your sub domain name, enter your sub domain name with www(e.g www.subdomain.domain.com). Then tick the box with redirect your domain without www to the one with www(e.g redirect subdomain.domain.com to www. subdomain.domain.com) or else people who type in your subdomain without the www won't be able to access your site. Done.

How to get your special CNAME and destination host
From your blogger account, go to settings. Then under blogger address, go to Add a custom domain. Now, go to switch to advanced settings, then settings instructions.
There you should get basically this tutorial and the data you need.

Changing to a Custom Domain Name
Follow the above step, but when it comes to where to enter the www.subdomain.site.com during the creation of the CNAME record, interchange it with www That's all.

NOTE: Note if you purchase your domain with Smartweb without a webhost account you won't be given access to the DNS manager(that might change later),but you can ask them to make the changes for you. Also, when using the DNS manager of other domain names registrar you may need to enter the TTL(Time To Live) value. It is mostly 4hrs(14400) by default, but you can change it if you know what you're doing, but don't make it short to avoid catastrophic ramifications.

Also, before moving to the last step above, wait for about an hour for your DNS settings to propagate. It may take up to 48hrs to propagate, but the highest have seen is 2hrs and the least is 4mins or less.

The below image is an instance of this done using dnspark.net free service, although with invalid information. This was used cause most domain name sellers don't give full DNS control for domain purchases alone, although they often help make any changes needed. But this is how to do this using dnspark.net, assuming your domain provider won't make such changes for you. You log on to your domain control panel with the seller, find a link indicating where you can make certain changes on the domain.
After getting there change the domain name servers to that of dnspark i.e fns1.dnspark.net, fns2.dnspark.net. Now, that you've completed changing your nameservers, log on to dnspark.net(assuming you already have an account with them). Then, go to DNS hosting, then click on "add a domain". When the page loads input the domain(the one you changed its nameservers to that of dnspark) you wish to add, and then tick base DNS hosting. After that is done, then you should see something like the below image but this time just with the Nameservers records boxes and box.
Then you proceed to add the records, interchanging the type between A and CNAME records and clicking on update all after inputing a record till you are done inputing.

I just managed to show this using two different DNS manager. Feel free to drop a reply below, if you encounter any problem.
