Hi Vykta

Thanks for the information on funaab pg.Please I don't know if you are in a position to help me confirm this.I will like to put in for masters in farm power and machinery(Agric Eng).I however graduated with a cgpa 2.98 mechanical engr.I can see that the minimum they asked for is 3.00 on a scale of 5.00.
I don't know if they might waive it for me since I have 0.02 less than the requirements

Thanks
CareerRe: Future Of The Nigerian Engineer by boldan: 8:56pm On Nov 02, 2014
You should not be saying this as a mechanical engineer. How many mechanical engineering works are going on around us? must you wait for your lecturers/school to teach you everything. You can learn from even roadside mechanics especially the good ones. All you need is to lay down your pride and get ready to get yourself dirty. When this people see a graduate coming down to their level, they are ready to go to any length in explaining some of the things they know. When they start explaining some things to you,I tell you all those things you feel are theoretical in school will make meaning to you... Engr you are the one that will develop yourself sir and opportunities to do that abound. I am a mechanical engineer with one of the state ministry of works, but I still find time to go and learn from mechanics of earthmoving equipments and within a space of a few weeks,I have learnt a lot

Natural waves

All you need to do is to open unilag pg application link, log in with your secret number and surname and reprint the application form.simple.You may not really need all the pages,I think the first page having your passport and proposed course of study is ok.
I did my exam on wednesday.I am not sure anybody asked for any exam pass from anybody even though I got there late, but I was not asked, so relax go there with a print of the first page of the application form and I think you are good to go
EducationRe: Unilag pg 2014 Discussion by boldan: 9:52pm On Oct 31, 2014
For all those having problems with printing exam pass, go there with a copy of the application you printed.I:e a copy of what you submitted to your department, at least that has your photo and proposed course of study on it, and also don't forget the teller you used for the payment. In short carry eveerything about uunilag pg to the exam hall,(prospectus, teller, printed application, paper generated showing your secret code, even past question if you have to show to the invigilators that beyond any reasonable doubt, you are a candidate for the paper.
EducationRe: Hardest Courses To Study In Nigeria by boldan: 11:13am On Oct 31, 2014
I may not know of other courses, but I know that mechanical engineering is probably the hardest.A course that has options like automobile, industrial eng, production and design, machine building, power plant engineering, thermofluids, aeronatics, material and metallurgy, industrial maintenance, apllied and solid mechanics.
These are options that you do for a semester/session in school but in reality, each of them are actual courses that normally should take five years of learning at least, and they try as much as possible to get info that you are supposed to learn in five years into one semester/session.
That is the reason why it's easy for engineers to diversify into some other fields like accounting, and still do very well.Enginnering makes you stand out because of al the stuffs you need to learn in a short time, and that is what makes it probably the toughest.

Kalan, you are a matured guy. A soft answer turns away wrath. Excellent attitude
EducationRe: Unilag pg 2014 Discussion by boldan: 12:46pm On Oct 29, 2014
I did my exams today, mechanical engineering and the questions of a truth were different from what is in the past questions. However, no matter how we look at it, one needs to commend Kalan. I don't know him, but at least some of the questionns sold gave a clue about how the exam questions will look like.
Some of us never knew anything about the process in unilag until we read some info from kalan about the pg program.
Although, it is not easy to pay so much for PQ and find out none of the questions came out, but I still think the questions provided some form of guide as per what to expect. My thoughts though.

EducationRe: Solve These CHEVRON Interview Questions by boldan: 11:52am On Oct 13, 2014
2. Very simple

I am still looking at Q1 but for Q2

SOLUTION

8a=9b find the ratio of a/9 to b/9
9b/8=a. ---eq1

We therefore have a/9÷b/9=a/b ---eq2

Subs eq2 into 1
We have 9b/8÷b =9/8 Q.E.D

The truth of the matter is that, people get stuck along the line without being able to come out easily. It takes alot of guts to come out still. I did come out of it cause I already foresaw the dangers ahead. But then, I spent money, wasted my time and other resources. But, I am glad I did.

That decision of yours is a very wise decision, The people there now will probably spend two to three times of what you spent if they have carry overs and also the psychological effects. You feel you have finished school only to discover that you have series of Carry overs to be taken. For me I feel like seeing my results almost immediately after exams, not to talk of five years after
EducationRe: LASU Part-time Students Protest, Shut Fashola’s Office by boldan: 4:19pm On Sep 16, 2014
People can be funny at times, you've not seen your 100 level result in your final year and you continued in that same school. If they now release all your results and you have majority of them as carry overs, where do you start from? Are there no better schools around?
PetsRe: The Dilemma Of Veterinary Medicine In Nigeria. by boldan: 9:14am On Sep 11, 2014
So pathetic. However, no matter how bad a situation is, you can still make good out of it.

1.Do not be discouraged, encourage yourself, it is not only vet doctors that are not getting jobs. Let someone else from another profession explain his or her situation and you will see reasons to give thanks to God.

2.Many have suggested things you can go into like fish farming, poultry and also selling of drugs, feed. Please start thinking along that line. You don't need to start big. You can start small and watch it grow big. "Do not despise the days of small begining"

3.To raise capital, you might be thinking how do I get money. My advise, please since you know where you are going, if need be, take up a job as a biology or agric teacher in a private school or any other job that you can easily find and try to save something out of your salary having one thing at the back of your mind, you are not judged by what you are today, you are judged by what you ended up becoming.

Keep faith and keep hope
EducationRe: Confused About My Masters Program by boldan: 9:27pm On Sep 05, 2014
Please go and collect Unilag pg form, it is #22,500. They take second class lower for your course whether cgpa above or below 3.00. What they consider is there entrance exams Which is competitive. The truth is that there are even so many MSc programs that a third class graduate can do without going through pgd in Unilag e.g Cell Genetics. I have their 2014 pg prospectus so I know what I am talking about.

Please don't allow that evil feelings any more as it is not from God.
One thing I can assure you of is you will get a job.I know what I am talking about because I've passed through this type of situation.
Never lose hope, because very soon your heart desire will come to pass.
However, in the meantime, please walk around where you are aand try and get something doing even if it is as small as teaching primary school children.
You need this to keep yourself busy, so that you will quickly put away that feeling of killing yourself.
Never you stay at home all by yourself alone, find something to keep yoursellf busy. Put your total and absolute trust in God and you will have a testimony. The God of heaven that did mine will do your own in Jesus Name. Amen. My brother keep faith and keep hope alive, it is well
EducationCgpa For Masters Degree Please Advice by boldan(op): 4:15pm On Aug 04, 2014
Good day all

Please I need fellow nairalanders to advice me

I graduated with a CGPA of 2.96/5.00(please don't say I am olodo) mech engr from university of portharcourt and now I need to go for my masters in mech or agric eng in either unilag or funaab. However I discovered that most times when funaab make postgraduate adverts, they ask for a minimum of 2.2 3.00/5.00 to be eligible for masters straight otherwise pgd first. Please advise on what to do as I don't want to waste time with a pgd and I don't want to go to schools in the far north . Thanks
EducationRe: Whats The Secret Behind Speaking Good English? by boldan: 3:37pm On Aug 04, 2014
My little advice

1.Don't use big english words ie construct your sentences with simple easy to understand words.

2.Don't try to copy anybody, you may learn from good speakers but don't say you want to speak as fast as they speak. Don't rush yourself even if you are speaking with a white man. Go at your own pace no matter how fast the person you are talking to.

3. Finally, one other one which I think could be helpful get the Good News version of the Bible and read it a lot.
