PoliticsRe: Nigerian Kids Debut At World Robot Olympiad! by BoldLeonidas: 2:29pm On Sep 28, 2015
BlackPikiN:
For the first time since the commencement of the World Robot Olympiad in 2004, Nigeria will participate in this year’s event, holding next month in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The team of four secondary school students emerged at the end of a national competition, involving more than 20 teams from primary and secondary schools in Lagos State and its environs, last weekend in Lagos. It was piloted by Arc Lights that distributes LEGO in Nigeria.

Managing Director of Arc Lights, Mr. Tayo Obasanya, said the event was organised to expose students to robots from the elementary stage and follow through to their tertiary level of education and beyond, as part of efforts to effectively identify and harness the human capital potentials in them.

“Mindstorms Nigeria is an initiative that supports science and technology education in primary and secondary school in the six geo-political zones of the country. In 2012, Arc Lights and its partners seek to work with the relevant education agencies and government to engage over 1,000 teams (over 3,000 students) across the country to participate in the annual Mindstorms Nigeria robotics competition.”

Nigeria will still participate in this year's International WRO as the National competition holds tomorrow in Lagos. And hopefully, we shall represent our country and our schools with over 15 teams.

Hi, I was doing some research on tea, and I found your contribution on a thread on Tea here. So I thought i'd holler at you. Sounds awkward, I know. But Inknow it feels good knowing there is another person out there who loves tea, and appreciates. And in know you do.
