Great observation!. The programming section of this forum is full of useless topics and unintelligent posts. Sometimes I wonder if those people are really programmers. Mr Seun should do something to address this issue as soon as possible.
Makehuman actually is as simple as Microsoft paint. You just set values with a gauge. The models in this image were made in less than 30 mins. Makehuman also does rigging for you, plus it has few animations. [img][/img]
3d modelling Nigerian scenes is not hard, with the right tools. Just time intensive
Looks great. I will consider it for making NPCS. It's a nice tool for crafting low poly humanoid models.
I have to admit you have a lot of focus - I for one am a sucker for tech and struggle with focusing on specific platforms. Was starting game programming, only to gain admiration for cryptography then...
Might I suggest making your trees physical and adding shadows to your scene.
Makehuman is an opensource software for creating models (fully rigged, low-poly). Sweethome is good for creating buildings.
But, aren't you bothered about restrictions imposed on unity?
Good Morning Sir and thanks for your input. You see, in game development especially 3d, you have to learn that you can't create everything in-house and that is why the asset store is there. About the shadow issues, I am working on realistic environment lighting that won't affect the performance of the game on mobile platforms. I will be releasing images of the development very soon. I really wish i have a group of 3d modellers who can craft realistic Nigerian environs.
Olyboy16: i can arrange for that easily, i'm we'll sure they're here on nairaland, shouldnt take more than one nairaland thread. but being a student you may not be fully engaged as i would want you to. so, maybe when you've got free time, like i mentioned on my first post. the game is a lotta work
Hi. How far have you gone with your project? Any room for collaboration? Game ideas?. Note that I am only interested in 3D games and the above videos are my early projects. I am working more on developing flexible and responsive UI, game mechanics, lighting, environment rendering, physics and general optimization for Mobile gadgets. This is due to the overwhelming relevance of the mobile market for small budget indie games.
Olyboy16: we have a team, i myself have working knowledge of 2D animations in js and javafx, intermediate practical AI knowledge. my team consists of an elect elect guy who is making the custom hardware with me, a c++ geek as with i also, a 3D animator(he doesnt make moving animations yet) and another graphics artist. i'm still working hard on perfecting the storyline and the AI data scheme; we are also prepping the hardware too. so a 3D game dev like bolkay47 will really boost the team.
3D game development is not easy. However, things become easier if you have a team of asset developers. Thats what i need.
Scholar01: Nice work Bro ... I recognize some of the assets used. (Am even using that guy with the face cap as the main character for one game like that — I think I would have to search for another gangster looking character sha )
Try to work on the colliders on the buildings (the player was walking through them)
Also which asset do you use for the third person controller? I think it's really cool
Nice one sir. I will work on it. Its just to test things. About the assets, they are free to use even commercially. What you can do with it is what matters. I quite agree though, those assets are not enough if you intend to build an extremely pleasing game. Hope you grab?
nijabazaar: halo Bolkay47, I am a 3D artist (specialinz in characters and rigging) and also a unity user cum Machine learning programmer. I have recently gone into game Dev with a group of super talented guys ( who reached out to me via This quora) but WE would also want ur skill set. Can We partner with you?
if u are available do contact via whatsapp 09056821885
Thanks for commenting sir. Honestly its hard for a single person but all you need is just an idea. I'm still testing some things. The game will look much better than that.
Olyboy16: do you have free time? cos i've got a crazy game idea thats gonna sell really good! but its a lotta work, it involves some pretty good AI(i can handle this). also it involves the development of custom hardware(being developed). i could create it on my own but 3D gaming is an area i havent bn opportuned to explore due to my schedules, also, you guys are hard to come by in this part of the world.(i hope u're in Nigeria). if you think you can get the time to take up this project of mine, please reply this thread. We are in lagos, if you need accomodation, we've got one for free! BTW, we are a new startup, you can visit our website (under heavy construction) http://southernwellslimited.com . thanks
Thank you for quoting me, I appreciate it. I am a student so only weekends are free for me. In fact, i practice game development during weekends. However, if you have a platform where we can interact and perhaps help each other, let me know sir. Do you use Unity?
greatnaija01: YOU HAVE STUFF LEGENDS ARE MADE OF.... wow am so impressed. Bro your game is great in 3d but can u add a little functionality to the water? It should splash or at least show the guy got wet... also it will be cool if it talked or had walking steps...
Thanks for raising my hope that good stuff can come from naija
Thank you very much sir!. I really appreciate your comment. Thanks.
This game is still (obviously) a work-in-progress. Please watch the video on youtube and rate it. I know there is still a lot of work to be done as regards the game but please rate it and give your invaluable advice. Thanks. FIRST VIDEO
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAoPUq-DTSE LATEST VIDEO All done with and within Unity3d. Assets used in this game are free from Unity and Mixamo. This game does not have a story yet, just some code to pick things up and render score to the screen (UI). Also within this game are two NPCs with some animations. Please watch and criticize. Thank You. There is no water in this game yet as it may become too demanding(It will be added later after thorough optimization) CC: greatnaija01 Olyboy16 kayuzie Sojebrand Irelokeh nijabazaar I sincerely appreciate your comments on the first gameplay video. CHARACTER NAME: Lake.
JuanDeDios: Because they're what create a spectacle. If it happens with single folks, it's most likely they will just call a friend who will find a doc. But with married folks, they themselves and everyone already think it's juju. Again, I'm not dismissing magun, even though I'm yet to be convinced about it. Just pointing out the other possibility.
I like this post, sounds intelligent. Even though science tries to explain the scenario, other possibilities cannot be dismissed.
JuanDeDios: Yes, it does. I'm not an atheist but have you heard of vagismus? Usually, a doctor will have to administer an injection to dilate her vaginal muscles and separate them. Now, whether this here is vaginismus or magun , I don't know; I'm just answering your question.
Yes, you may be right. But the question is, how come these eyesore situations usually occur in cases of infidelity.
No, i dont think so. In 2012, this kind of incident happened in my town. It was a chief and a woman who is not the wife of the chief that got stuck during the act. They were eventually separated by a traditionalist. It was a public disgrace.
Nice one sir. "Gift of mental power comes from God, supreme being, and if we concentrate to that truth, we start to live in harmony with that power. -Tesla
